"Every soul that's disappeared from the face of the story just for justice shall reappear, shall return to their own story." Arfanez spoke, raising both of his hands upward.
Then he shouted, "Conclude the eternal sleep, be awake, my friends."
A dark-golden magic circle appeared covering the entire world itself. Dark shadows began to make an appearance throughout the entire world from the magic circle as the shadows started to separate right afterward. After being separated, the separated shadow pieces started turning into shadow figures. The figures continued transforming as they changed their shape into countless different and unique mortal figures. The sound of death screaming appeared to be heard throughout the surroundings as well as the entire world. The screams were so intense and deadly that normal inhabitants couldn't possibly withstand them there. The retainers kept themselves safe from the screams by barely holding their ears with their hands. While the rest of us covered our ears with magic spells to keep the screaming away from our concern. However, their appearance and hungry gaze weren't something that we could possibly resist.
Those figures had spirit in their bodies, but it was weakened along with some piece of hatred appearing in their gaze. None of them had eyes, just abyssal darkness lurking in the place of their eyes. Their appearance wasn't much strong, but held endless hatred in their eyes. They were barely standing with their gaze appearing pretty down. They were scattered throughout the entire world, as the number of dark figures was impossible to count.
"Those aren't some vampires, nor some ghosts, but…the beings that you failed to protect. You are a failure who never truly saved the mortals, but created countless paths for their destruction. So now, you have to pay the price for that." Arfanez spoke to Raizel, a little loudly with his loose voice.
The screaming from the dark figures changed into voices that were trying to express some language. Their voice was unclear due to their own agony and screaming. But Raizel could hear something: "Why did you do this? Why? Why? Why? Why didn't you protect us? Why did we die like that? Why did you fail to protect us? What kind of protector are you? Why are you a foolish failure? Why did we have to pay the price for trusting you? Why? Why? Why?"
Those questions were coming from those dark figures, their whispers resounding endlessly along with their bone-chilling agony. Those questions kept bothering Raizel unstoppably, making him tremble, something that's nearly the rarest thing we witness from Raizel.
Raizel wasn't trying to protect himself from those questions and agony, but questioning himself about himself. Is it really true that he's a failed protector? Did he truly protect all those mortals? So how did they die even though Raizel was the protector? What could be the very answer? Raizel wasn't aware of the answer; he never truly cared about the answer that appeared nearly meaningless to him.
Those figures continuously began to get closer to Raizel. Some of them jumped onto Raizel's figure and tightly grabbed him with their body parts. Their agony got even more intense as time passed, along with Raizel's own conflict over his mistakes.
He was trembling even more with the flow of time. He whispered to himself with his broken and trembling voice, "Was I wrong? How could this be? How can I be wrong? I can't be wrong. B-but….if I were to be right, then why did I fail? Why couldn't I protect them? Why?"
Raizel grabbed his head with both hands and pressed pretty tightly. He sat down in his position and kept trembling. Then he screamed extremely loudly, "Why did I fail? Why?"
In the background, the agony and whispers from the dark figures kept repeating without a pause. As if some chaotic song kept resounding in the background, telling us a story that never met the face of happiness, but endless sorrow and tears of the mortals.
While we were witnessing this, Arfanez stepped ahead toward Raizel, who was whispering while holding his head. Arfanez set his foot in front of Raizel's head and pointed his golden relic at Raizel's chest.
"You've failed; you never truly did the very thing you wanted to do. But do you know the certain truth? You never truly understood yourself. You were kept running around the cycle of your belief and questions. You never truly became one with all of yourself; you were never truly able to be a true person." Arfanez spoke, careless and calm, unlike earlier.
He smiled carelessly and opened his eyes casually, "And so, you will meet your demise for the finale, as a conclusion of a failure."
As he spoke, he raised his golden relic and stabbed right through Raizel's chest and his very soul. Raizel coughed up blood immediately as his eyes opened extremely widely and stared at the ground. He couldn't look upward; his eyes slowly began to close. Trying to keep them open, Raizel had to close them with his failed attempt. His soul slowly shattered into a thousand pieces, leading him toward his demise, for the finale.
To stop Arfanez from killing Raizel, all three of us flew ahead toward them. But suddenly, an invisible barrier appeared in front of us and completely covered the two of them inside the barrier. A bit away, someone was smiling fearlessly. It was Aizis, who was revealing his narrow, careless smile. It was none other than Aizis who cast the barrier in front of us. He glared at us narrowly and widened his smile.
"What do you think you're doing, Aizis?" I shouted, angry as my face turned red with anger lurking around my entire face.
"What are you even planning to do, Aizis? You want to let Raizel die?" Marco added, shouting as well.
Aizis didn't reply for some moments. While Arfanez stepped back from Raizel's corpse and set his foot several meters away from there, Aizis stepped ahead toward Raizel's dead figure and knelt down gently toward Raizel's face. He put his hand behind Raizel's head and lifted Raizel's upper body a little upward.
He revealed his casual, gentle smile on his face and spoke indifferently, "Surely, the game is between you guys. But the outcome was never something that was going to come from your decision. It's me who will decide the finale conclusion of the story."
