A rush of memories consumed Layla as she sat in the hotel room looking at her target file. Layla had what she needed in her hands; evidence of Kamal's lies woven into an intricate narrative that shrouded his empire. Now, the file secured, she sat contemplating and feeling the weight of her father's legacy italicized within her grasp. The evidence secured, however, she couldn't help but feel as though there was more to the puzzle that was yet unseen.
'The price of this power is steep,' echoed Aidan's cold, calculating voice. But she had already paid a heavy price. Kamal's unrelenting grip had stripped away everything, including her father's life, and in the process, decimating the remaining shambles of her family and childhood. No matter the cost, she was sure as hell going to make him pay. It was far too late for second chances.
As if on cue, the phone buzzed on the nightstand like an intrusive thought inviting her to madness. "He's here," she whispered to herself, knowing full well who was on the other side without even glancing at the screen. Her premonitions turned out to be true. This was a moment Aidan had waited for ever since."Meet me at the location. It's time to make the final move."
Along with an indication of the coordinates, Aidan texted her expecting her to show up immediately on the location. She wanted to hesitate for just a second, however it was too late. There was a part of her that anticipated this move during the entire game, but she had never foreseen losing this way which stunned her to the core.
From her eyes she appeared to be focused because she was driving a four wheeler scenic vehicle, however in the realm of sophistication, she was one step away from losing it. Let's see how braced she can stay for the mission ahead while driving through the theater streets which no doubt must be glamorous, but leave an unsettling knot in the pit of one's stomach.
These are the type of places Aidan decided to meet his contracts and when I first lay eyes on him imagine a lifeless mirror hooked at the gentle fingers of a flame. Of all the places he could have expressed his need for privacy, meeting him at such a sinister place that is devoid of all trace of humanity would be the last on my bucket list. 인도서 wghat74 This is unsettling to me because words and contracts along with people's lives are carelessly ruined without strings attached.
I opened the door or at least I thought I did because Aidan standing right next to the scanners seemed to also keep me risking my sight during tweaking mechanics) while keeping his lips in a bolster position active!
"Do you have everything?" he inquired, his tone even but with a hint of irritation.
Moving toward him, Layla replied, "I have it. The Raven Project. Kamal's empire. It's all here." She paused her breath for a moment before withdrawing her fingers from the drive, only to gently rest it on the table where it was readily waiting.
Aidan's gaze shifted briefly to the drive before resting back on her. 'Good, this is where it gets fun,' he replied in a tone that was icy and methodical. 'We will strike Kamal the hardest, and that is where he will suffer the most. We will unmask him, destroy everything he has built, and leave him with nothing.'
'What you desire is acheived, but at what cost?' Layla said while uncrossing her arms, still fixing her fiery stare on Aidan. 'What happens after Aidan?'
Unbothered, Aidan maintained that same mock smile directed at her. 'That is how it works. None of this should come as a surprise to you. You knew that from the start, Layla.'
Although she was feeling furious, she decided to reign it in. Now was not the time to succumb to emotions. 'You told me together we would take Kamal down. This isn't what I was willing to do for you Aidan. I did it for my father. For my family.'
Stepping into her personal space, Aidan's eyes bore into hers. "You think I don't know that?" he growled lowly. "I have helped you get everything. Now it is time to bring this to a close. If we don't move quickly, Kamal will figure out a way to retaliate."
"All of this will have been for nothing," and with that, Layla's heart thudded violently.
Kamal was indeed a force to be reckoned with; it was clear he would take every measure possible to try to protect what was rightfully his. Kamal didn't give existing empires for free: he fought for every inch. Sure, that doesn't mean she had to accept Aidan's help.
The matter of fact is, Aidan inserting the USB cable interrupted her train of thought. From the corner of her eye, she could already tell the files about the web of Kamal's corruption would start loading: the accounts, trading funds, the off-shore dealings, and illegal transactions, soon to be revealed.
"This is the moment," Aidan said, prounouncing each word with firm resolve as if they were a mantra. "It's time to deliver the truth to the right stakeholders. We will unveil Kamal's true character."
Layla observed Aidan as he put their plan into action. Unfortunately for her, a nagging feeling was telling her that something was off. From what she knew about Aidan, he was far too trusting and helpful, and there was almost certainly something sinister at play. What was it that he was trying to hide?
Before she managed to voice any of her assertions, Aidan interjected while staring daggers at her. "I can see your mind is still pondering on whether my intentions are as pure as I claim them to be," he stated, maintaining his unnaturally soothing tone, although she could tell that he meant to terrify her.
"It's not like I was imagining this scenario without valid reasoning," was Layla's comeback although quite blunt. Despite the multitude of questions that surrounded his trust, confronting him about them would surely ruin everything they painstakingly built together. This was a delicate situation, and for all it was worth, she needed him. She was glaringly aware that turning themselves against each other at this point would change everything.
"I don't put my faith in anyone, Aidan," she said after a moment, her tone calm. "But I believe that you are going to come through like you said you would. Kamal has to suffer for his actions. And I will not allow that to happen."
Aidan's mouth twisted up in a slight smirk. "That's good," he replied. "Then it seems we're working together."
With rapid strikes on the keyboard, he recommenced his work on the files, sending them off to the proper channels, to the press, or whoever else could obliterate Kamal's standing publicly. Laylas's thoughts were hazy. This was the end. The last move.
Meanwhile, Aidan attempted to think freely as one part of his brain set all of the cogs in motion, and take off the stranglehold the ticking clock had on him, but an underlying feeling of dread lingered. Kamal was not the type to abandon his resources or go down easily; he was going to resist, and so was Aidan.
