Chapter 196 - Chapter 188: Tiamat Feeling Possesive and ORT's Awakening (2.3K)

For a moment, everyone present stood frozen in disbelief.

No one could have predicted that the former Knight of the Round Table, who had once betrayed France, would have the audacity to stand before the Mother Goddess of Creation herself—and ask her to bless a marriage between his daughter and Nameless.

Even Rin Tohsaka was stunned. "Wait—he's doing what?!"

Meanwhile, inside her mind, Ishtar nearly exploded.

"How dare he!? Absolutely not! I refuse this marriage! I was here first!"

Her fury burned hotter than Venus itself.

Over four thousand six hundred years ago, when she had first met Nameless, she had decided she would make him hers.

Her lover.

Her equal.

Unfortunately, that arrogant mortal had the nerve to call her—a goddess—"a monkey."

And not only that, he'd even joked that humans and monkeys shouldn't get married, because it might "lower the children's IQ."

Lower the IQ?

Was he implying she was stupid!?

Ishtar was livid.

From that day on, she had sworn to one day capture him, drag him away, and make him kneel in surrender.

You dared question the intelligence of a goddess? Fine.

When I finally catch you, I'll make sure we have a dozen brilliant, adorable children!

And I'll drain you dry if that's what it takes!

Ereshkigal, on the other hand, felt a strange mix of emotions.

So this… was a father's love?

Even faced with a being as terrifying as the Mother Goddess of Creation, he still had the courage to fight for his daughter's happiness.

She couldn't help but feel a little jealous—and a little envious.

Still, she wasn't too worried.

After all, she lived alone in the quiet, empty Underworld. As long as that man visited her from time to time, that was more than enough.

Meanwhile, the girl at the center of it all—Mash Kyrielight—was completely overwhelmed.

Her so-called father had just tried to propose to the Mother Goddess of Creation?!

What was he thinking!?

When he'd fought King Arthur, that had been a clash between Heroic Spirits—manageable, political even.

But this?

This was Tiamat—the Mother of All Life, the embodiment of humanity's very extinction.

If she said yes…

Mash's heart started to race, and her face turned pink.

She'd always thought of Senpai—of Nameless—as the most important person in her life.

The one who had stood by her through every battle.

The one who had risked everything for her.

From the moment they first met until their journey to the final singularity, their bond had already transcended life and death.

She had inherited Galahad's legacy—becoming Lancelot's daughter in name.

And to the Mother Goddess, Nameless was her most beloved child.

If Tiamat were to grant her blessing… that marriage would be undeniably legitimate.

Their meeting, their shared struggles, their intertwined fates—until one day she would stand before him in a pure white dress, walking down the aisle, smiling through tears as they grew old together…

The image burned in her mind like a dream, her cheeks flushing bright red.

If that happened… I'd be the happiest girl in the world.

Having a father wasn't so bad, after all.

Mash looked at him—at that tall, black-armored knight with a crimson cloak and hood—her eyes glistening.

Even his past embarrassing outfits suddenly didn't seem so bad anymore.

He really does care about me…

Under her gaze, Lancelot smiled warmly and spoke:

"Wise as you are, gracious as you are, strong and loving as you are… every word of praise belongs to you, O Mother Goddess. So, would you grant this small wish for me and my daughter?"

Gilgamesh, watching the scene unfold, raised an eyebrow.

Had he just witnessed Lancelot flatter someone?

That same man—the one who'd stolen Guinevere and shattered the Round Table—the same Berserker who once descended into madness?

When he had first appeared as a Heroic Spirit, he'd been utterly uncontrollable—a raging beast of vengeance—only barely restrained under Jeanne's command.

And yet now, that same lunatic stood there bowing politely, buttering up the Mother Goddess with the elegance of a nobleman.

Gilgamesh could hardly believe his eyes.

Was fatherhood really that powerful of a transformation?

He fell deep into thought.

Maybe he should have a daughter of his own…

But then again—with who?

After being the King of Heroes for so many years, he had never experienced anything quite like this.

Maybe he really should just force that damn "dear friend" in a barrel of genderbending and be done with it!

....Or be the one to drink that damn potion....

While Gilgamesh's mind wandered into dangerous thoughts, the one being questioned—the Primordial Mother Goddess, Tiamat—lightly frowned at the armored knight before her.

"Marriage?" she repeated softly. "You mean letting that child be with her?"

Though she was known as one of Beast of Humanity, her voice carried no malice—only the gentle tone of a woman making idle conversation.

"Ah, yes, yes! Exactly that!"

Lancelot immediately tensed up.

This was Tiamat, the goddess who had crushed even the Lion King—anyone before her would automatically become polite, careful, and refined.

But for the sake of his daughter, Lancelot would face anyone—even the Lion King herself.

And this time, he didn't even need to draw his sword. All he had to do was talk.

He thought of his cute, gentle daughter being taken away by that nameless brat—it made him feel like a father watching his precious treasure being stolen by a pig.

The problem was… his daughter didn't even seem that close to him anymore.

If he could get the goddess's approval for this marriage, she'd surely be grateful to him—respecting him as the father who gave her happiness.

He could already see it: his daughter calling him "Dad" in that sweet voice.

Just the thought made him almost giddy.

"Most revered Mother of Creation," Lancelot said earnestly, forcing himself to appear calm, "my daughter, Mash, has been by Nameless's side through countless Singularities. The two of them are truly made for each other!"

He smiled, suppressing his excitement.

"So, please—grant them your blessing. Let them be wed, and stay together forever!"

"...Forever together?"

Tiamat murmured the words, her thoughts drifting back to the moment she first met that child.

Why had she come to care for him so much?

When the world had been born and life spread across the earth, she, the Mother who created it all, had been cast away—left to wander alone in the Imaginary World.

She could no longer see her own creations.

There was no time, no space, no life—nothing but isolation.

She longed to return.

She desired it so much that she even allowed herself to be used by that upstart Demon God if it meant she could once more walk among her children—to be understood.

But no one understood her.

Humanity had grown up.

Civilization flourished.

They no longer needed a "Mother."

They needed to discard her—to brand her as evil, as something that must be destroyed.

Her very existence became original sin.

She knew that her return would bring destruction.

So she chose to seal herself away, suppressing most of her power.

Until she met him.

The child who, from beginning to end, never once showed hatred—only guilt and compassion.

Someone who understood her words, treated her not as a monster but as a true Mother Goddess.

Even when standing before her colossal form, he had reached out and embraced her without fear.

He never despised her—never shunned her as "humanity's evil."

And when they parted, he had said—

"Once I finish my final battle… maybe I'll come visit you in the Imaginary Number Space. Or, you could come find me instead."

That moment had been her first glimpse of light after endless solitude.

Faint—but real.

For the first time, she felt what it was to be needed.

So she descended from the Imaginary Number Space—to find him, to fight beside him.

She simply wanted him to stay with her forever.

A soft glow rippled through her pink, cross-shaped eyes as she spoke in her melodic voice:

"I do not approve of this marriage."

"You agree—wait, what?"

Lancelot froze.

What just happened?

This wasn't part of the plan!

His daughter and the goddess's favorite child were a perfect match—so why refuse?

He blurted out without thinking, "Why not? Wouldn't it be wonderful for them to be together forever?"

Whummm—

The air itself trembled.

An overwhelming pressure filled the chamber, crashing down upon him.

Though Lancelot was the strongest of the Round Table after Artoria, he could barely stand.

Looking at her felt like a worm staring up at a dragon—a primal terror rooted deep in his soul, urging him to flee.

So this was the might of the Mother of Creation…

Tiamat gazed at him serenely.

"Of course not. He has to stay with me."

"???"

Everyone froze.

Her words stunned the entire room into silence.

Then Gilgamesh suddenly started laughing.

"Tch. As expected of you, my dear idiot friend. You've even managed to charm the Mother Goddess herself!"

At this point, Nameless's list of admirers had grown ridiculous—not just heroic spirits and deities, but now even Humanity's Evil and foreign Vanguards.

Truly—a Grand Beauty, irresistible to any existence.

"Well," Gilgamesh smirked, "when the world-ending spider in South America awakens, maybe you can just seduce that one too."

Rin looked utterly dumbfounded.

To be fair, she had suspected that Tiamat might have descended because she wanted to monopolize Nameless—but to just say it out loud like that?!

That man's charm was even more terrifying than she thought.

Ishtar shrank back a little.

"What do we do? If it were just Mash, I'd fight tooth and nail—but against Mother…?"

She wasn't kidding—this was the Supreme Mother Goddess of Mesopotamia.

Against Tiamat, she didn't stand a chance.

In fact, if the Mother Goddess was feeling playful, she could easily tie Ishtar up and make her watch their intimacy just for fun.

"Ugh, why am I so weak!?" Ishtar groaned inwardly.

Ereshkigal, meanwhile, was at a total loss for words.

Then an awkward thought hit her:

If the Mother Goddess actually had a child with him… what would that make her in the family tree?

She tried not to care, but somehow her heart felt strangely hollow.

Mash, who had been silent the whole time, went from blushing bright red to pale as snow.

So this was the kind of trial she had to face…

"God," she thought bitterly, "can't you at least let me dream of a happy ending?"

Lancelot glanced at his daughter's pale face and stepped forward.

"Um…"

Before he could say more, Mash gently placed her hand on his shoulder.

"You've already done enough, Father. Let me handle this."

She met the goddess's gaze with calm determination.

"You are the Mother of All Life—it's only natural for you to wish that your child stays with you. But I, too, want to be with my Senpai—forever."

No one could separate her from him now.

She was no longer that timid, uncertain girl—she was ready to follow him even into the Underworld itself.

She braced herself for the crushing divine pressure.

But instead—

Tiamat smiled softly.

"You truly are a pure and gentle child."

Her tone was filled with warmth and approval—yet carried a faint, unbridgeable distance.

Mash blinked, unsure what it meant.

Was this… a test?

Had she passed?

Was the goddess allowing her to stay by his side?

Before she could ask, Tiamat's gaze turned southeast—

There, a monstrous presence was stirring, radiating unfathomable power.

Gilgamesh's expression hardened.

"After five thousand years of slumber… the enemy of the world has awakened."

"Wait—could it be that one? Mercury's Ultimate One, ORT?" Dr. Roman asked nervously.

In their previous broadcast, Nameless had mentioned that terrifying being—a threat even greater than the Vanguard, capable of wiping out all humanity.

Gilgamesh nodded grimly.

"Yes. It's that one."

He recalled his talks with Sanjiro—even his arrogant friend had admitted he had no confidence in defeating it.

"That creature is an extraterrestrial being," Gilgamesh said darkly, "summoned by the planet's will—Gaia—to destroy humanity itself."

"Its defense surpasses that of the Vanguard and even the gods. No attack can harm it— even Nameless's Mystic Eyes of Death Perception are useless against it."

An existence beyond comprehension.

Ishtar's face twisted.

"One after another, these monsters keep showing up. Even for a goddess like me, it's honestly depressing."

And this new, world-ending enemy—could it actually be stronger than Tiamat herself?

No, no—if anything, it was definitely even stronger!

The Vanguard they had fought so hard against before had only been an incomplete form.

If it had successfully devoured human civilization, it would have gained its true star-bursting powe—a level of destruction utterly impossible to resist.

And now, a newly awakened enemy?

How terrifying would that one be?

"Wait, I'm sensing a familiar divine presence… could that be the Feathered Serpent Goddess?" Ereshkigal exclaimed in surprise.

Back during one of the previous Singularities, she had wished to protect the souls of everyone, and so joined the Three Goddess Alliance, becoming one of the Demon God's pawns.

Alongside her had been two other deities—the Feathered Serpent Goddess and the Beast Goddess.

Quetzalcoatl, the Feathered Serpent, was the supreme god of Central and South America.

Her domain lay close to the Brazilian rainforests, right where this new terrifying presence was beginning to awaken.

If Ereshkigal and Ishtar could secretly manifest on Earth, then it was only natural that Quetzalcoatl could as well.

But now that something monstrous had appeared in her own backyard, there was no way she would stay calm.

Mash asked gravely, "So… what should we do?"

A threat of that magnitude had to be confronted with full preparation—

They couldn't allow it to bring ruin upon the world.

"For now," Gilgamesh replied, glancing meaningfully at the doctor beside him, "we'll hold our ground."

Then, with a faint smile, he added,

"My dear friend has already said we should quietly wait for tomorrow—January 19th, 12 noon, when the new video 'Final Singularity - Grand Temple of Time' premieres. Less than a day remains!"
