Ren, felt like he was in a void of boundless darkness, And if not for the 'ability?' that came with his Talent, he would not even be able to perceive anything.
The darkness all around him felt like it was eating into his very being. Or atleast, that was what it was supposed to be doing, but with a lapse of consiousnees,
Swish!
It felt like his surrondings changed, yet, it was still the same boundless darkness.
But Ren was certain, his surroundings had changed. From the darkness where it felt like his existential being was being eaten into, now it was just..... Darkness.
And in all this darkness, he kept feeling like something was off.
The feeling lingered. One moment it felt like it was there, then it disappeared the next.
The feeling was such, that he was getting annoyed and irritated, but then, he figured it out the next moment.
It was his sense of direction and the lack of five senses that gave him that feeling.
Before, when his thoughts were stretched from a moment into near eternity, his senses were still anchored to his body, so no matter how long he spent in his thoughts, he had an anchor.
But here, there was no anchor and no sense of direction; in fact, there was no sense of anything.
It was because he was conscious, and could think that he felt like he was seeing darkness all around.
He could not determine if he was seeing darkness, or it was because he could not see anything that all he perceived was darkness.
While Ren was thinking,
Ga-doom!
He felt his whole body, or was it his whole being, shook, like he was thrown into a mixer.
Along with it came an overwhelming, inscrutable pain, One he never felt was ever possible to be experienced.
The pain came, he felt it all the way down to his very existence.
But, he could not scream, he could not express such pain, and he also could not endure such pain.
He was but an ordinary person.
He felt, knew, and let go of the bond that held his being. His existential framework of what he was right now, he let it go.
It was a conscious decision, yet also not one.
He wanted relief from his pain, and letting go was that relief.
As an ordinary person, this had long passed his threshold.
Silence!
When he let go, all he felt was Silence.
From the Silence, he saw the shimmering radiance of the dissipation of a star.
And from those, he saw fleeting moments of his life.
Ren was but an ordinary person in his previous life, and although he felt he 'saw' through the essence of the world, and felt of what troublesome and pitiful experience it was to struggle and join the throes of people working and slaving to achieve what he felt was meaningless.
Through their struggles to achieve something, they don't 'live' anymore.
He saw through it, he felt different, and...he chose to lie down.
That was how ordinary he was; he saw no hope, or rather, he didn't search for hope, because doing so meant joining the throes of struggling people.
So, lying down was what an ordinary person would do.
And as an ordinary person, He laid down.
At first, he did not come to the conclusion of being ordinary, after all, being able to 'see' through what he thought was 'life' made him different from other people, which could also be said to be unique.
But later, he came to accept he was ordinary. Why? He saw and came into contact with others who realised their 'truth', and ultimately chose to lie down.
He wasn't the first to realise it, and he also wasn't the last person.
Different people chose different ways.
Someone who was not ordinary, saw through it and was determined to make their mark.
Another saw through it, and had the mind to do something about it.
All those people were average people until they made it.
And an ordinary person, was someone like Ren. He wasn't average, Ordinary he was.
He wasn't unqiue, so he was ordinary.
He didn't have a drive, so he was ordinary.
Most were.
Whether be it his previous self, or his predecessor, Ordinary was enough to describe them.
His predecessor was both ordinary and unlucky.
He never realised any 'truth' during his lifetime, and although it could be said that he was still young,
But, isn't that also highlighting the word ordinary?
And when the time came to seize the opportunity to change his life, He...Died!
And it was from fear!
What could be more ordinary than that?
He died from fear!!
And although there were external influences, that doesn't change the fact that out of thousands of people in that square, He died from fear.
And what couldn't be more sad is that he couldn't even claim it as an achievement, because there would, and could be other ordinary people who could have also died from fear.
If that wasn't sad, what could be sad?
Oh, what a life.
And only because Ren 'saw' through it that he was not considered Trash.
In his perception of boundless darkness, with only the radiance of a star, representing his life,
He really saw his ordinary self.
Even with a cheat, one that he hadn't even been able to put to use,
He was already dying.
Just another ordinary person, even in the limited scheme of things, not to talk of grand ones.
Would it have changed if I were able to bear the pain?
Such thoughts passed through his mind as he relived his entire life in just a moment.
So was the life of Ren.
Nothing more than an ordinary man, after all.
And till the end… he was just an ordinary person: Ren.
Sad.
And with sizzles, all sparks and stars that were his life, faded into nothing.
Silence...
Oh, What a life.
.....The End.....
