Chapter 35 - Chapter 35: Ascension of Dominion

The throne room of Ordran was quiet before dawn, bathed in the silver glow of twin moons. Rael sat upon the blackstone throne of the conquered city, one hand resting on the armrest and the other holding the Divine Core—its pulsing light reflecting in his crimson eyes.

The Sovereign's Dominion stretched further now, not just in territory, but in power, influence, and something far more transcendent: legacy.

Elira, now visibly carrying the heir of both abyssal and divine lineage, leaned against one of the columns, her robes shimmering with protective runes. Beside her, Azura was deep in meditation, her soul attuned to the celestial energy of the Core.

Kaelene stood with arms crossed, watching Rael with unspoken loyalty and desire. The wyvern queen had long since pledged both blade and body to him, and tonight, she felt the tide shifting again—not just for their conquest, but for what was to come next.

A tremor of energy pulsed through the throne room as the Abyssal System chimed in Rael's mind.

Rael didn't hesitate. [YES]

The Divine Core floated before him. His Abyssal Core emerged from his chest—an orb of pure shadow, pulsing with malevolent power. The two orbs spun in a slow dance, orbiting each other, repelling and drawing closer like opposites that were never meant to unite.

Azura's eyes snapped open. "Rael—prepare yourself. The gods will feel this."

"I want them to," Rael growled.

The orbs collided.

Blinding light and crushing darkness exploded simultaneously.

Rael found himself floating in an endless expanse. Stars swirled in reverse motion. Planets bled light into shadow. In front of him stood two entities—one cloaked in white flame, the other in endless black mist.

The Herald of Equilibrium spoke first, its voice like overlapping bells. "You seek fusion of that which was never meant to join."

The Abyssal Warden responded next, voice like a million howls in a cavern. "He has claimed what even gods fear: sovereignty through choice."

Rael glared at them both. "I'm not asking permission."

A third presence emerged—formless but powerful. The System Architect.

"You have met the hidden requirement, Rael," it said. "By conquering the Abyss and claiming the Divine Core, you have unlocked the hybrid path."

New Class Evolution: Sovereign of Twilight DominionPassive: All territory under your rule operates under hybrid rules—balancing divine law and abyssal freedom.Active: Command of both holy and unholy forces.Unique Trait: Heir of the Future – All direct offspring are born with system-linked blessings.

"You are now beyond Lords," the Architect concluded. "You are Sovereign."

Rael clenched his fists. "Then return me to my Dominion."

The chamber exploded in golden and obsidian light as Rael's physical body was suffused with the power of fusion. His armor transformed, forged anew—silver-threaded abyssal mail layered beneath flowing divine regalia. The crown upon his brow morphed into a circlet of twilight crystal, hovering slightly above his head.

Rael opened his eyes. A soft echo followed.

"All of it… mine."

Rael stood before his generals, including his bonded harem.

"We begin Project: Sovereign Pillars," Rael said. "Ordran is no longer just a city. It's the First Capital. From here, we build an empire."

Kaelene grinned. "You want to create more cities like this?"

"Not cities," Rael corrected. "Factions. Tribes. Kingdoms. All united beneath the Sovereign Banner."

Seris, the rogue-turned-assassin, spoke from the shadows. "But they won't just fall in line."

Rael smirked. "They will. Or they'll kneel… after the fall."

Elira sat beside Rael in bed, her hand resting over the swell of her stomach. She looked into his eyes, expression soft.

"Our child… will be hunted, won't they?"

"Yes," Rael admitted. "By the gods. By Sovereigns. Maybe even by the System itself."

She smiled. "Then we better teach them how to fight."

He chuckled and pulled her into his embrace. Kaelene entered moments later, followed by Azura. All three women curled around him beneath the midnight canopy of the capital sky.

They had won this battle, but war loomed—against kingdoms, gods, and perhaps the very force that created the System.

Rael stared at the twilight horizon through the window.

"Let them come," he whispered.
