Chapter 58 - High elves (1)

"Is this really how this works?" I couldn't help asking myself after seeing the notification from the system.

This was honestly the last thing that I had been expecting from the adventure that Conan went on.

But it wasn't as if it was a bad thing.

After all, the high elf race was a special race that wasn't unlocked normally and it would take a long time to unlock them if one used a normal method.

Though the most important thing was the two avatars that unlocking this race gave.

This was something that was even more important than unlocking the high elf race.

After all, two more avatars meant that there would be more stats shared between us and all of us would become stronger.

The number of avatars wasn't something that was that easy to obtain after all.

"Now, how should I use these two?"

"You? Don't you mean us?"

"Right, these are avatars that all of us share, so you can't just hog it."

"I'm the one that got these avatars for us, isn't anyone going to ask my opinion about how to use them?"

Now that there were four avatars, there was quite a bit of noise when it came to conferencing with them.

Though it could be louder since one of them actually remained silent during this time.

It was Faust who didn't seem as invested in arguing with the rest of the avatars.

Since he had become a lich, I had to admit that he did seem a bit colder compared to before…

"Alright, that's enough arguing. We're never going to get anywhere if we keep arguing with each other like this." I said to stop the rest of the avatars from arguing with each other.

In truth, the real arguing was between Val Zahad and Gran Jurad.

The two of them really were like cat and dog when it came to their relationship.

It was most likely because one was the hero and the other was the demon king, but they still had to remember that we were all the same person at the end of the day.

Once they stopped arguing, I said, "My proposal is very clear. One of the avatars should be used now because there's something that would be very beneficial for us to obtain."

I didn't need to say anything else as all of the avatars fell into thought.

Even without me saying anything, they knew what I was thinking already.

After all, they had been thinking the same thing.

This was one of the good things about sharing senses, it meant that we also shared the same knowledge that would usually lead to the same thoughts. Though it still didn't stop the demon king and hero from fighting against each other.

Perhaps that was just part of their nature.

After a long silence, Faust broke it by saying, "That's fine since I need that power for my conquest right now."

Once he broke the silence, the others all started saying how they could use the power that we wanted to obtain for themselves.

Since we had all come to a decision, then there was nothing else to say.

The only complaint that I had in the end was…

"Why do they all look better than me?"

It wasn't that this avatar looked a little bit better than me, it was simply drop dead gorgeous.

I already knew that it would be handsome since it was an avatar that was a high elf.

It was just that…

"Isn't this a bit too much?"

That was the only thing that I could think of as I stared at the beautiful face that was in front of me.

Even though it was a man's face, it really was too beautiful…

"It's weird if you stare at me like this."

His words cut deep and brought an awkward look to my face, but I just gave a cough and asked, "Do you know what you have to do?"

With a smile that was like the sun rising, he said, "Of course I know what I'm doing. I'm an avatar that has all the knowledge that you have, so I naturally know exactly what I have to do."

I gave a nod before taking another look at his face.

With the deep green eyes and soft green hair, he was like some kind of plant spirit that had taken form. It was the kind of beauty that really could make one have other thoughts…

"Please stop staring at me like this. I don't swing that way."

Hearing the high elf avatar say this really brought a bitter smile to my face and I tore myself away from staring at him.

Now all that was left was to send him to the place where he would be able to make contact with the targets.

Though after leaving, even the high elf avatar couldn't help wondering if his beauty was a bit too much…

"Hand over everything if you want to live."

This group of rough looking bandits had suddenly come out of the forest without any warning.

The speed that they moved at showed that they were already used to this, so they quickly surrounded the carriages traveling on the road.

The guards of the carriage came out, but they just weren't a match for the bandits at all.

It was clear that these bandits were veterans with the way that they took down all of the guards without even breaking a sweat.

It was just bad luck that they had encountered these bandits.

"I'll hand over the goods, just spare our lives!" The leader of the caravan said to the bandits, but…

"Ah!" Before anything else happened, the bandit leader suddenly cut down the leader of the caravan.

"If you had surrendered sooner, then I would have been more lenient. You can't blame me if you caused this trouble for yourself."

As soon as he finished off the leader of the caravan, the bandit leader turned to the others in the caravan with a lewd look on his face.

What he and the other bandits didn't notice was a sharp pair of green eyes watching them from inside one of the carriages.
