It's a pity though… Victoria pressed closer to the glass. I still couldn't see their faces. How am I supposed to recognize them when I start attending this school?
But maybe I won't need to. If they're in charge of admissions, they'll likely introduce themselves when new students arrive. I'll see their faces soon enough.
There was so much to uncover about this academy.. so many secrets, so many games. And she intended to be part of all of them.
Just as she was about to turn and leave, her foot nudged something.
Crash!
A ceramic flower vase toppled from the pedestal and shattered against the tiled floor, the sharp noise slicing through the silence.
Victoria froze, breath lodged in her throat.
The moans behind the door stopped immediately.
Dead silence.
"Fuck!" Victoria cursed under her breath as she sprinted out of the Heirs' office, bursting into the main school building. The corridor was bustling now, students moving about between classes, voices echoing, laughter spilling into the hall.
Just when she thought she had escaped unnoticed, she slammed into a solid figure....broad, unyielding, and radiating a presence that made her instincts scream.
Then she caught the scent.
Alpha.
"Are you tired of living?" came a cold, venomous voice. The words slicing into her composure and sending a chill down her spine.
Victoria slowly raised her gaze....and froze.
Standing before her was a man with cascading raven-black curls that brushed his shoulders, his emerald eyes sharp enough to pierce through bone. His lips...full and tinged rose looked deceptively soft. But then the rage on his face overshadowed his beauty. It was as if someone had just dumped garbage on royalty. He looked like he'd been personally insulted by her very existence.
But then… something shifted. The moment his gaze locked with hers, his breath seemed to catch. Recognition flickered in his eyes...quick, uncertain but he swiftly masked it with a scoff and cleared his throat.
"Who the hell is this idiot?"
"Is she insane? How dare she block the path of Alpha Darius Fenwick?" another student whispered nearby, their voice trembling with a mix of awe and terror.
Victoria's lips curled into a slow smirk.
Oh… I see. So this is one of them. The number one. Alpha from the East. The leader of the pack. First boss, is it?
Perfect.
But before she could respond, another voice bellowed from behind.
"Hey! You!"
She turned. Sprinting out of the office was the blond-haired heir, now wearing nothing but a towel wrapped loosely around his waist. His golden hair was wild and tousled, as if he'd just rolled out of bed....because he probably had. His ocean-blue eyes locked onto hers, while sweat glistened on his sculpted chest, his abs gleaming beneath the fluorescent lights. The unmistakable scent of sex clung to his skin.
Victoria arched a brow in disbelief.
Doesn't he have any shame?!
"Greetings, Number One," the blondie said casually, barely glancing at Darius before stepping forward and grabbing Victoria's wrist. His grip was firm, possessive.
But Victoria didn't flinch.
"Maybe you should learn to keep the girls you fuck out of my way, Number Three," Darius said coldly, his tone sharp. His emerald eyes narrowed with scorn as he walked past them, tossing a dismissive smirk over his shoulder.
Number Three…
Alpha Zephyr.
"I'm not one of those girls he fucks," Victoria said loudly, her voice cutting through the corridor. Darius halted mid-step.
Gasps erupted around them. No one ever talked back to Darius Fenwick.
Who is this girl?
Does she have a death wish?!
"I got lost," Victoria continued, lifting her chin defiantly. "And somehow, I ended up in your precious office. Now that I've gotten out, Number Three here decided to chase after me."
Her heart pounded, but she stood her ground.
Darius slowly turned to face her again, a dangerous smirk curling on his lips.
"Are you a student of this academy?" he asked, his voice low, mocking.
"I'm not," Victoria answered truthfully. "Not yet." She swallowed, but her eyes never left his. "But I can already smell the rot in this place."
A beat of silence passed.
"No wonder," Darius said finally, voice laced with disdain. "You don't know the rules. That explains your stupidity. I'll let it slide this once since you don't belong here yet."
His gaze hardened. "Now fuck off, bitch, or I'll show you what happens to little girls who defy me."
The word hit her.
Bitch?
It echoed in her head, sharp and loud. But Darius had already turned, dismissing her as if she were nothing.
Then Zephyr's voice slithered into the silence, thick with amusement and lust.
"Well, since you so graciously interrupted my fun, new girl," he drawled, stepping closer, "how about you join in? Maybe I should teach you some manners. You could learn real fast with my cock down your throat. Be grateful, sweetheart. Tasting the cock of an Alpha might be the last exciting thing you do in this lifetime."
His voice sent a shudder through her spine but not from fear. From fury.
So shameless.
But she didn't show it.
Well this was the world she truly knew not the soft, fake kindness of her brothers, not the gentle pats and concerned smiles. This was the real act. Cruelty, dominance, power plays.
But she was done being the prey, the weak pathetic fool. This time, she was here to become the predator.
"Join in your fun?" Victoria echoed, her voice laced with irritation and disbelief. "I'm sorry, but I don't have a thing for Blondie."
Without warning, she swung her leg forward and delivered a sharp kick to Zephyr's groin. The force sent a wave of shock and agony across his face as he doubled over in pain, clutching himself while Victoria turned away from him without a second glance.
"Damn! Does sfe really have a death wish?!"
"That didn't just happen did it?!"
The students present continue to whisper among themselves, their gazes filled with an unbelievable mixed with anger expression.
Victoria then strode confidently toward Darius, who stood silently near the exit.
"You're really tired of living, aren't you?" Darius said, his voice low and dangerous, as he reached out to grab her by the neck.
But Victoria sidestepped with grace and agility, avoiding his grip. Instead, she rose on her toes and pressed her lips to his in a swift, bold kiss that stunned everyone.
Gasps rippled through the crowd.
"She kissed him?!"
"No way... Alpha Darius doesn't even glance at any of us, and she just....kissed him?"
"That bitch kissed him?!"
Even Darius stood frozen, his emerald eyes wide, breath caught in his throat. His rage had turned into stunned disbelief.
Victoria pulled away slowly, letting her gaze linger on his stunned expression. Then she turned to face Zephyr, who was still recovering from the shock, mouth slightly open.
"I like men like this," she said, nodding toward Darius, "not the golden-haired playboy."
