Joel headed for his old dilapidated home, ready to continue his training.
Joel walked towards the front and started to wrap his body in wind essence that repelled everything in his surroundings. This was the mistake I made earlier, he thought as he remembered what had happened earlier.
Previously, he had planned to wrap his hand in wind essence to repel the blade, but he was unable to, and got cut on his hand.
Joel held his spear, wrapped it in wind essence, and threw it straight. The spear flew fast and struck a tree, tearing it apart from the trunk with a massive force.
That was stronger than I expected, Joel mused after seeing the destruction in the wake of the spear.
He went closer to pick the spear, but discovered that it had broken from the force of the essence. If my spears keep breaking anytime I use Tempest javelin, I would have to move about with extra spears, which is not too good idea in this world where I don't have the system with me. Then there are two options left: one is to only use it as a signature move, or create a spear strong enough to contain the essence.
I can think of that later, I need to grow strong enough first, so I will be able to fight Gale Fang I he ever comes to find me.
Joel went back into his room and began cultivating to increase his realm.
Three days later, Joel just came out of Bren's shop after buying a new spear and placing an order for a spear strong enough to withstand Tempest javelin.
Bren promised that he was going to try his best to make the spear, but mentioned that the only metal that could create a spear like that was typhorium, a special metal only found in astral typhoons. A permanent superstorm that spanned hundreds of kilometres in the sky.
In the future, when I am stronger, I should try going to the astral typhoon, if I can get some typhorium from there, Joel thought.
Joel was heading out to the wilderness, an area that was already infested by monsters. This had been the way he earned money, he hunted and sold the monster corpses in exchange for money.
Soon, the bustling of the city disappeared, and the only thing that was in Joel's sight was the scorched earth and several shattered rocks suspended in the air.
Joel ran forward at an incredible speed, unaware that some people were following him.
The wind howler tribe from yesterday are my target today, he thought as he ran forward.
Soon, he was in front of a large cave that reeked of dried blood, probably the blood of their previous prey.
Joel didn't bother entering the cave and simply shot several wind blades into the cave. The sound of flesh cutting was heard as the blades sliced through the howlers.
The surviving ones ran outside, trying to locate the cause of the blades, but they could not see anyone. Soon, several blades were shot out again, and they cleanly killed the rest of the monsters.
That was easy, Joel thought as he gathered all the corpses of the howlers in a mini whirlwind that floated above him.
Hey, drop all the howler corpses, and I might consider leaving a complete corpe for you, a voice said from behind Joel.
