"What was that?" Sei asked, surprised or rather scared of what exactly he was fighting.
The hero also stared blankly at the empty sky, the moon shining alone in the dark sky. The stars, it seemed, had retreated back to darkness. People on the main street moved obliviously to what had happened inside a small alley.
Sei stumbled and fell to one knee, gasping for air, clutching his broken ribs that pierced into his lungs.
"Are you alright?" the hero asked, bending beside Sei, supporting him.
Sei coughed a little and replied with a frown, standing back up. "I am alright," his breath heavy. But his body said otherwise.
"You know you shouldn't lie when you are hurt," the hero's voice was soft.
Sei turned to him. "What will you do?"
The hero laughed. "I am a herbal energy user. I can heal you, but not much."
Sei stared at him for a moment, deducing whether to trust the guy or not. The pain shot again; even breathing was walking closer to a deathbed.
