He picked up the plate of food and walked over to her, placing it in front of her. "Sister, if you really want to know where your mother is buried, you better eat this first."
She looked up suddenly, her swollen almond-shaped eyes filled with surprise. What did he mean?

As soon as Rachel heard that, it was like she'd been shocked. She grabbed the food from the tray and started devouring it hungrily.

The way she was eating now was totally different from how she usually was.
She was basically wolfing it down. But that just showed how much her mother's grave meant to her.
