Konoha: Starting from Being Adopted by Tsunade – Chapter 325: Execution Day
"Hokage-sama."
Kakashi Hatake and Rin Nohara called out in unison.
Natsume glanced at them.
Both looked visibly upset.
That was because Obito Uchiha's execution day was fast approaching.
After all, he had once been their closest friend. There was no way they could feel happy about this.
Moreover, until recently, they had believed Obito Uchiha was a hero of Konoha Village,
A martyr who had died honorably during the war.
Now they were told that not only wasn't Obito a hero, but he was actually terribly guilty—
He had killed their teacher and his wife, orchestrated countless plots against Konoha, and even been behind the massacre on the night of the Uchiha clan's extermination.
Naturally, they couldn't accept it.
But the facts stood before them, leaving no room to whitewash Obito Uchiha's actions.
Besides, this wasn't the original story.
Natsume had no intention of giving Obito a second chance.
"Rin was revived using Impure World Reincarnation, but that's not true resurrection,"
He looked at Rin and spoke.
"Rin is already very grateful to Hokage-sama,"
Rin Nohara lifted her head and said, "Being able to exist like this for a short time is more than enough."
"You're surprisingly forgiving."
Natsume chuckled lightly and asked, "But if given a real chance to come back to life, would you be willing?"
Instantly, Rin Nohara and Kakashi Hatake froze.
Real resurrection?
Could such a thing really exist?
They had found Impure World Reincarnation shocking enough—at least it made sense given the high cost involved.
Now, true resurrection? It was almost impossible for them to even comprehend.
"Hokage-sama, what do you mean exactly?" Kakashi Hatake couldn't believe it and couldn't help asking.
"Just like us—truly alive," Natsume explained again.
Kakashi's eyes lit up with excitement.
Instinctively, he turned to look at Rin Nohara.
But Rin looked hesitant, as if unsure what returning truly meant.
After being gone for so long, nothing else felt familiar—except Kakashi.
And she would have to witness the execution of her dear friend, Obito Uchiha.
There wasn't much left in this world worth holding onto anymore.
Still, seeing Kakashi's hope… she finally chose to live again—for real.
Natsume gave a slight nod.
To be honest, saving Rin had only been an afterthought for him.
Her willingness didn't really factor into his plans.
But rescuing Kakashi Hatake was acceptable too.
After all, he was quite a remarkable genius.
Once Obito dies, his Mangekyo Sharingan will be reclaimed.
Natsume was thinking whether to give it to Kakashi.
Frankly speaking, the Mangekyo Sharingan itself came at a terrible cost.
Just one had left his body frail; taking a second might ruin his chances at a normal life altogether.
However, having dual Kamui techniques was indeed powerful.
There was honestly no one else who fit the role besides Kakashi.
Plus, taking away the Mangekyo without reason might make him seem unfair as Hokage.
Therefore, now there was only one solution left—to reconstruct Kakashi Hatake's body.
Without needing to spend any destiny values from Natsume, the current development speed of Medical Ninjutsu in Konoha meant it wouldn't be long before a safe implementation could be achieved.
Right now, for example, they could implant Hashirama Cells or White Zetsu Cells.
Actually, they could also use either Natsume's or Kaguya Ōtsutsuki's Cells.
But thinking about it, he decided against it.
Natsume didn't want outsiders to possess his cells.
If it were for Mikoto Uchiha and the others, it might have been acceptable.
After all, given the current situation, Natsume was likely to attain immortality.
That naturally meant he wouldn't live long enough to see them grow old.
But then again, the number of children needed to be limited.
Too many would be troublesome.
Allowing each woman to bear one child would be sufficient.
Combined, that would already result in a considerable number.
After Rin Nohara agreed, Kaguya Ōtsutsuki casually raised her hand.
Chakra surged outward, dispelling the Impure World Reincarnation.
A corpse remained at the site.
It was the criminal sacrifice Natsume had previously sought out.
Kaguya Ōtsutsuki activated Pure Land Summoning.
Moments later, Rin Nohara reappeared.
This time, however, she appeared as a spirit.
Next, Kaguya Ōtsutsuki used an immense quantity of unique chakra to reconstruct her physical form.
She worked for ten minutes before finally stopping.
Rin Nohara had been fully revived.
"You two may go down now."
Natsume waved dismissively.
Once they departed, he immediately approached Kaguya Ōtsutsuki.
"How is it going?" He asked with concern.
Kaguya slightly shook her head.
Although she felt some regret over losing so much chakra, seeing Natsume's expression made her feel it was worth it.
"Anything else?"
Kaguya asked again.
"Just her for now." Natsume smiled as he replied.
"Then we continue."
Kaguya grasped his wrist.
Before Natsume could react, he was pulled into Amenominaka.
He twitched his lips, knowing an intense battle was inevitable.
Samui and Mabo exchanged startled glances.
Still, they understood Kaguya Ōtsutsuki held a special status and wouldn't do anything to harm Natsume.
Now that both had left, they resumed their secretarial duties.
When Natsume finally emerged, it was already the next day.
He just felt extremely hungry.
Worried about Tsunade noticing something unusual, he made his way directly to the Hokage Building.
After a satisfying meal, he immediately drifted off under the shoulder massages from Samui and Mabo.
This small chapter wasn't over yet—more excitement awaited!
---
After a long while, Natsume opened his eyes.
Before him loomed towering snow-capped peaks, blocking his view.
He gazed for a moment before shaking himself out of it.
Turns out it was just Samui's vast expanse of cleavage.
A woman truly rivaling Tsunade.
"What's on the agenda today?" He tilted his head up, asking.
"The execution of Obito Uchiha." Samui answered, then asked, "Master, will you be watching?"
Without any outsiders present, she and Yugito Nii used the same title when addressing him.
"There's no need."
Natsume found Obito Uchiha uninteresting.
Making him suffer was simply revenge for Mikoto Uchiha's sake.
Mabo peeled a grape and brought it to his mouth.
Natsume took a bite, juice squirting out. It was tart and sweet—pretty good.
Of course, he preferred when Ena Uzumaki peeled them for him.
"Where are Karin and Tayuya?"
Natsume asked casually as Samui gave him a shoulder massage.
"They left yesterday afternoon with Yugito to carry out a mission."
Mabo replied, pulling out a scroll and opening it. "It's all detailed here."
Natsume glanced at it.
It was an A-rank mission. With Yugito and Hinata involved, it shouldn't be much of a problem.
Mabo put away the scroll and picked up another grape from the fruit tray, peeling its skin again.
"You really know how to live it up."
Kurenai Yuhi walked in through the door and couldn't help but tease.
Ever since their relationship had taken that step forward, Natsume stopped pretending and started acting like a real playboy.
She could only accept it helplessly because she didn't want to give that up.
After all, life really was pretty great.
If only Natsume weren't such a playboy.
How unfortunate.
Thankfully, this wasn't the modern era.
In the ninja world, especially among the aristocracy of the Five Great Nations, having multiple wives and concubines was completely normal.
So Kurenai didn't mind it as much anymore.
"Sister Kurenai, what's going on?"
Natsume turned his head to ask.
"Obito Uchiha has died."
Kurenai reported. "His body was taken by Kakashi."
Natsume gave a slight nod.
He had already received the prompt from the Tamaki of Destiny, earning him one hundred destiny points.
This meant Obito Uchiha's fate had finally come to an end.
