Konoha: Starting from Being Adopted by Tsunade – Chapter 318: The Secretary's Ability
Latest chapter URL: Only Samui and Mabo were inside the Hokage's Office.
The former sat at the desk, while the latter sat by the coffee table.
Yugito Nii was lurking in the shadows.
When Natsume arrived, both Samui and Mabo quickly stood up to greet him.
"Keep doing what you're doing. Don't worry about me," Natsume said, waving a hand.
He approached Mabo, who was going over information about Konoha Village.
Unlike Samui and Yugito Nii, who had been here longer, Mabo had only arrived a few days ago and knew no more than the rumors.
Natsume glanced at her documents and gently patted her head.
Mabo stiffened slightly but didn't dare pull away.
Natsume didn't do anything else—he simply moved behind Samui.
She was performing her secretary duties by summarizing recent events in Konoha.
Previously, this task had belonged to Kurenai Yuhi.
But since she hadn't woken up yet today, Samui took over.
In fact, it wasn't even assistance—Samui was already the secretary.
Natsume looked down at her from above.
From this angle, he could see the majestic snowy mountains.
He reached out and touched her slim, soft waist—it was slender enough to fit in one hand.
Samui glanced sideways but remained unfazed.
Even when he kept moving closer, she maintained her composure.
Her face flushed red, and her breathing quickened.
Mabo noticed her sharp inhale and instinctively looked up, immediately startled by the scene.
She quickly looked away.
Yet the image of that pale skin lingered in her mind.
There was no denying that Samui had an absolutely perfect figure.
As Mabo looked at the documents in her hands, she found herself growing more distracted.
A few minutes later, she stole another glance.
However, the Samui seated in the Hokage's chair was gone, replaced by Natsume.
Yet the sound continued.
"Mabo," Natsume chuckled softly, "any questions?"
"No… none at all."
A faint blush spread across Mabo's dark skin, giving her a uniquely charming appearance.
By now, she fully understood what the missing Samui was doing.
"Good then," Natsume said, pointing at the pile of paperwork on the desk. "Help Samui organize them."
"Yes."
Mabo immediately stood up. "Thank you," she said. She'd wanted to leave for a while, so when Kurenai Yuhi offered, she gladly accepted.
Startled, she clutched the documents tightly and returned to the coffee table.
After a short while, the office door opened again.
It was Kurenai Yuhi.
She glanced at Natsume and Samui, then couldn't help but mutter under her breath.
Testing a secretary's capabilities like this—in the office during the daytime?
Worse still, she had only just been in that very position herself—and failed.
"Sister Kurenai," Natsume noticed her and greeted casually.
Kurenai Yuhi gave a slight nod and turned to Mabo.
Stepping closer, she said, "Come with me to the secretary's office. I'll show you how it's done."
After the two women left, the quiet Hokage Office was soon filled with soft moaning sounds.
Reclining back in the chair, Natsume closed his eyes.
After a while, his body finally relaxed, slipping into a restful state.
Samui grabbed a glass of water from the table and chugged it down.
Seeing Natsume in this state, she didn't interrupt.
She rose to her feet and moved to his side, pressing his head gently into her bosom and slowly giving him a shoulder rub.
Natsume raised an eyebrow slightly.
Samui was indeed someone with a broad mind, and very skilled at utilizing her own advantages.
Without him saying a word, she already knew what he liked.
[Brain Pillow Wave]
An hour later, Natsume opened his eyes.
Peering through the gap, he saw the time on the wall clock.
It was already noon.
"Samui, go have someone prepare lunch."
Natsume thought for a moment before speaking. "Five servings—yours, Yugito's, Mabo's, and Sister Kurenai's."
"Yes."
Samui released her hands, took two steps back, then left the Hokage's office.
Before long, she, Mabo, and Kurenai Yuhi returned with meals in hand.
Natsume called out Yugito Nii as well, and the five sat around the coffee table eating together.
Kurenai stole a glance at the three beautiful women from Kumogakure and sighed inwardly.
What a player.
But she'd made her choice, so there was nothing she could do about it now.
"Thanks for your hard work today."
Natsume lifted his glass and said, "We'll still need your help in the future."
They weren't drinking wine—just juice.
After finishing lunch, each of them returned to their respective posts.
Time passed.
Two more days passed.
Nagato and Konan finally arrived.
Natsume met them in the Hokage's office.
"Hokage-sama."
The change in address alone let Natsume know their decision.
One could say they knew when to yield.
"We've decided to temporarily join Konoha Village."
Konan spoke coldly, "If what you do doesn't align with our goals, we will leave."
The Akatsuki's goal, naturally, was world peace.
Hearing this, Natsume smiled and said, "You'll be satisfied."
His own goal could also be described as world peace.
It's just that the approach was somewhat different.
Next, he planned to fully promote the Heavenly Network.
Preferably building a virtual online world similar to a game.
Future conflicts would all be resolved within there.
Oh, right!
If that still wasn't enough, Kaguya Ōtsutsuki would step in for a literal, physical solution.
But first, they had to deal with Isshiki Ōtsutsuki.
"Did you bring the Jinchuriki?"
Natsume asked.
"Yes."
Konan gave a slight nod; she wasn't surprised.
Although tailed beasts held little value for Natsume himself, in the outside world, they were a major deterrent.
There was no way he'd allow Amegakure to control the tailed beasts—multiple ones, no less.
"Alright then."
Natsume gave instructions, "Sister Kurenai, gather and confine them."
"Understood."
Kurenai responded, then added, "The Tsuchikage and Raikage are still in Konoha Village. For safety reasons, I think we should have the Hokage's bodyguard team oversee the Jinchuriki."
"No need."
Natsume smiled nonchalantly and said, "If they really do this, it actually gives us Konoha a handle on them."
Yuhi Kurenai nodded slightly.
That was indeed the truth.
Even if they rescued the Jinchuriki, they still wouldn't be a match for Konoha Village.
That would only bring them trouble.
Natsume glanced at Konan, then shifted his gaze to Nagato in his wheelchair.
His permanently damaged legs were a result of the Rinnegan.
Normally, there would be no way to heal his legs.
But what if Kaguya Ōtsutsuki intervened?
In that case, it probably wouldn't be an issue at all.
Should he help Nagato?
Natsume pondered briefly before deciding to lend a hand.
Firstly, because Nagato would become his subordinate eventually.
Secondly, he could gain some Destiny Value while increasing Konan's favor.
"Hokage-sama," Noticing his silence and the way he was watching Nagato, Konan couldn't help but speak up. "How do you plan to assign us?"
"You can start by learning how Konoha operates," Natsume replied thoughtfully. "You'll find your answer in that process."
The world peace Nagato and Konan sought was built entirely on absolute military power.
But relying solely on that wouldn't lead to true progress.
"Samui," Natsume said casually, "I'm going to need you to show them around for the next few days."
"Yes," Samui responded immediately.
