What reason would he have for creating problems for the extermination team?

'Strange!' Ging thought, unable to resolve the question, filing it away for later consideration.

Loki, perched atop Kurobina, smiled faintly as they approached East Gorteau.

Creating problems for the extermination team was necessary.

If the team succeeded in eliminating the Royal Guards, Loki's objective—protecting the King—would be impossible to complete. He needed the team to contain the Royal Guards, not kill or severely injure them.

Therefore, creating additional obstacles was a prudent precaution.

A moderate level of chaos, involving Chimera Ant squad leaders, would suffice. Loki would control the number of surviving squad leaders, keeping them within the extermination team's capacity.

Soon, they landed in a secluded location.

The pre-arranged teams began their operations.

The attack on the palace was scheduled for three days later.

They had three days to prepare.

First, they would gather the scattered Chimera Ants under the King's banner.

Koruto would infiltrate the palace to scout it.

Palm Siberia, Knov's disciple, possessed a near-omniscient ability; she could track anyone she'd seen.

This would allow them to monitor Koruto and use his observations of the palace.

After Koruto's infiltration, Knov would use his abilities to create entry points into the palace, allowing the extermination team to enter from within.

Everyone except Ging had a specific role.

When the extermination team launched their operation, in a town within East Gorteau,

Hisoka, dressed in black, walked the streets.

His fighting spirit was high.

He had found a worthy opponent in Neferpitou and was unwilling to leave.

The Chimera Ant squad leaders were also interesting opponents.

"So boring!"

Cheetu, the Chimera Ant squad leader, a cheetah-like creature, stood on a rooftop, observing the humans below.

He'd lost interest in hunting slow-moving humans. Their speed was like watching turtles crawl.

Recently, however, the number of exceptional humans had decreased.

The King's preference for exceptional humans had led Youpi to hunt them.

In a few days, their numbers had dwindled significantly, leaving Cheetu without targets.

While searching for exceptional humans, Cheetu spotted three individuals radiating strong Nen.

"Bingo! Today's targets," he grinned, his eyes gleaming with predatory intent. "Better than another boring day."

Cheetu vanished, silently following the three humans, quickly leaving the town.

Outside the town, the three Nen users headed into the wilderness.

"How much further until we leave this damned country?!" the largest of the three exclaimed, his voice laced with anxiety.

His two companions looked exhausted.

They were Nen users who'd come to investigate the Chimera Ant situation, hoping for a reward.

Unfortunately, they were essentially suicide candidates.

They weren't strong enough to fight Chimera Ant squad leaders; even a Chimera Ant soldier could kill them if they were unlucky.

Attempting to capture Chimera Ants with their abilities was suicidal.

However, unknown creatures were highly valuable on the black market.

This attracted many Hunters and Nen users, hoping to capture them.

Most had died; the survivors, like this trio, desperately wanted to escape.

Some succeeded; others, like them, were targeted by Chimera Ants.

Cheetu appeared after following them for a distance.

"Today's prey! Greetings!" he announced, striking a running pose. "No need for pleasantries; let the game begin! Run as fast as you can. I'll kill the last one every ten minutes. Run for your lives!"

The three Nen users ignored him.

"Damn monsters!"

"They don't seem strong. Let's kill him quickly and leave."

"Right! Let's go!"

The three charged at Cheetu. Cheetu shook his head.

"Why do humans never follow orders?"

The first to reach Cheetu was instantly killed with a single claw to the heart.

Blood sprayed into the air.

The remaining two froze, their attacks interrupted.

The sight of their dead companion, killed so easily, sent a wave of cold sweat over them.

This was another extremely dangerous monster!

"Run!!" they yelled, fleeing simultaneously.

Cheetu tossed the corpse aside, watching them flee.

"That's more like it! The game is on! Run for your lives! The slowest one gets eaten!"

Crackle! A match flared in a lakeside campfire. A white cloak was drying nearby, next to two burning Chimera Ant corpses, emitting a foul odor.

A figure emerged from the lake, its steps causing the water to freeze behind it. By the time it reached the shore, the lake was completely frozen.

"This ability is quite useful, but that's all," Loki said, grabbing his dried cloak and putting it back on. He opened his system interface, checking the numbers.

Mission: Chimera Ant Extermination. In a single day, Loki had killed thirty-four Chimera Ants: twenty-six soldiers, seven or eight troop commanders, a crocodile squad leader, and a mantis-like squad leader.

Three days should be enough to complete the mission.

Across the lake, two figures emerged from the forest, noticing the frozen lake.

A frozen lake on such a sunny day was highly unusual.

Before they could react, a voice called out, "Not running? If I catch you, you'll die!"

The two men, looking terrified, sprinted towards Loki.

They spotted him by the lake.

"Someone!"

Seeing Loki, their expressions changed to hope.

They ran towards him, smiling.

"A kid! Great!"

Their joy increased seeing it was just a child.
