Volume 3 Chapter 10 / Chapter 515: I Hate Men
With more than ten minutes left before the first class started, Zhang Shaoqing and Wang Jie finally strolled lazily into the classroom.
At a glance, Zhang Shaoqing spotted Ning Chu seriously flipping through a book while comparing it with her notes. He immediately mocked her:
"Whoa~ why are you studying so seriously? Stop reading and just retake the class with me. What's even worth looking at?"
"Get lost. Like hell I want to retake classes with you."
Without even lifting her head, Ning Chu waved him away as if swatting a fly.
She absolutely did not want to return to school during her senior-year internship just for makeup exams or retaking classes. That sounded way too troublesome.
A few minutes later, Zhang Shaoqing couldn't hold back anymore and leaned over.
"Hey, lend me Wen Yang's notes too?"
"No!"
"So stingy!"
"I paid a price to get these, okay?! Why should I just hand them over to you for free?"
The mood she had for studying was completely ruined by his shamelessness. Ning Chu snapped back irritably and even covered the notes protectively so Zhang Shaoqing couldn't sneak a peek.
Wen Yang's hard-earned notes weren't easy to obtain. Last night she had even dressed up as a catgirl and meowed until her throat went hoarse before finally getting them.
With finals approaching, the class finally had a rare atmosphere of studying. Even before class began, the usually noisy and rowdy students were desperately cramming. Even the always energetic Yan Xinya was holding Lily's notes and studying intensively together with the academically hopeless Xi Xi, their heads pressed together.
Wen Yang leisurely answered Ning Chu's occasional questions, while Lily was busy preparing for graduate school exams, flipping through exam papers from previous years.
"Why isn't there a magic spell for photographic memory~"
Xi Xi let out a lifeless sigh and collapsed onto the desk, eyes completely unfocused.
"Magic? Xi Xi, did studying make you stupid?" Yan Xinya muttered, but suddenly her eyes lit up as she asked excitedly, "Did you make progress with that handsome guy yet?"
"No. How could it happen that fast…" Xi Xi grumbled endlessly, seriously suspecting her crush was a huge boob-lover with no interest in flat-chested girls like her. "I even asked him out yesterday, but he said he was busy."
"Don't rush it. You guys have only met a few times. If he fell for you that quickly, he'd definitely be a horny creep who only wanted your body from the start."
The wolf girl loved shipping couples and eagerly volunteered:
"Want my help? I'm the number one wingman! Back when Wen Yang managed to win over Ning Chu, at least eighty percent of the credit was mine!"
Listening nearby, Ning Chu silently rolled her eyes.
If the wolf girl hadn't meddled back then, she wouldn't have fallen so completely into becoming a girl so quickly.
From thoroughly turning into a girl to eventually accepting and liking men, the wolf girl bore undeniable responsibility for all of it!
There was no way it could be her own problem.
From another perspective, this girl was basically her nemesis!
It was only because Ning Chu was kind-hearted that she hadn't pursued the matter.
The class bell rang. Ning Chu put away her notebook, only to realize the professor was nowhere to be seen.
The classroom became even noisier. Turning around, she asked Yan Xinya:
"Xinya, any announcements?"
"Lemme check… Ah, the counselor just sent a notice. The teacher suddenly had something come up and took leave, so we're dismissed. Everyone go home and find their moms."
"Seriously~ I could've stayed in bed and slept longer."
This has happened several times already. Though they were used to it by now, it was still annoying.
Zhang Shaoqing cursed while grabbing his textbook and standing up.
"Damn it! I finally bothered coming to class for once! I'm going back to play games!"
Wang Jie silently packed up his books. Just as he stood up, Ning Chu stopped him.
"Wang Jie! What's going on with you and your girlfriend now?"
His body paused for a moment. Without saying a word, he lowered his head and walked out of the classroom.
"Did they break up or something?" Ning Chu watched him leave with concern and muttered, "Wasn't it just an argument…? They've been dating for years, and I never really heard about them fighting before."
"Maybe all their conflicts exploded at once this time?" Wen Yang guessed.
"Maybe…"
Seeing the worried look on Ning Chu's face, he smiled and rubbed the little succubus's head.
"Come on, let's go to the library."
"No, but Wang Jie…"
"That's his own business. He'll sort it out. Why do you always want to act like everyone's caring big sister?"
"Not really. If you have time, invite him out for a drink or something? Wang Jie's the kind of guy who bottles everything up. If he doesn't vent after drinking a little, it won't end well."
"Alright. After class tonight, I'll buy some alcohol and bring it back to the dorm. Shaoqing's been frustrated these past few days too, so we can sort both of them out together."
"Don't get drunk."
As they talked, the two packed up their textbooks and headed toward the library, with Lily following behind while clutching her graduate exam materials.
Ning Chu slowed her pace and walked side by side with Lily.
"What about Xinya and Xi Xi?"
"Those two don't like studying."
"Have you found a graduate advisor yet?"
Lily blankly shook her head. With her personality, actively approaching and talking to strangers was basically torture.
"I heard it's better to contact an advisor in advance…"
She nodded lightly. As usual, she kept a straight face and pretended to be aloof by not speaking.
Early in the morning, there weren't many students in the library. Only a few scattered people sat around the reading area.
Lily put down her exam papers and excitedly dove into the bookshelves. Before long, she managed to dig out another trashy erotic novel from somewhere in the library, looking as delighted as if she'd struck gold while happily flipping through it.
The library was huge, and even after several years she could still occasionally find strange books hidden around, allowing this hobby of hers to continue until now.
Ning Chu also curiously leaned over. The two succubi huddled together whispering about the contents of the book. In the library setting, anyone who didn't know better would think they were two diligent girls studying seriously.
Though, for succubi, this did count as studying.
Wen Yang sat across from them, already long accustomed to this sort of scene, though he still reminded them:
"Ning Chu, you don't want to fail finals, right?"
"Eh~ what's wrong with taking a little break…"
Ning Chu grumbled as she returned to sit beside Wen Yang, rubbing her temples with a headache.
"This is so hard~ Teach me."
"Alright. But focus properly. Stop zoning out all the time."
"I zone out because your explanations are too boring~"
Fortunately, since they were in a public library, when the succubus got distracted she would only fidget with her phone instead of deliberately teasing Wen Yang and turning a tutoring session into something far less educational.
But as the lesson went on, the two unconsciously drifted closer and closer together.
When Lily looked up, she saw that Ning Chu was practically sitting on Wen Yang's lap already, a rosy blush spread across her cheeks.
It's too painful to watch…
"In public too. Aren't you embarrassed at all?"
She muttered sourly, but Ning Chu's sharp ears caught every word.
"Well then, go get yourself a boyfriend too~"
"I don't need one. I hate men."
