Chapter 21 - Chapter 21

I feel far stronger than I ever have before. The pressure of the blood flowing through my veins was intense. The look on Cameron's face through the glass reveals fear to me, not because I know that no one has ever seen something this demonic before. My body caught on fire, except it was black fire. Was this a feature of mine?

"I can't take this, you keep on hiding things, time after time, there's always something new about you." Said Cameron.

Callith stood in front of me, dropped to his knees, and rested his weapons beside him. "Leon, I believe you, the whole new dimension thing, I believed you, I just couldn't accept the truth. But Cameron hurt Haze, and I need your help to teach him a lesson, or he will do more bad things." Said Callith.

"Hey, it's fine. I would have done the same. But right now, we need to focus on stopping Cameron." I said.

Callith and I fought Cameron together against Cameron. The wall is full of dents, chemicals came from pipes, and my energy is beginning to drain again. "Remember this, Leon, you can become what you desire. Save your energy long enough to hold this form." I kept that in mind, but it was difficult with Cameron's weaponry coated in Ichor.

"You two are such a pain in my ass. When will you give up? I already know your weaknesses; it is over for you!" Shouted Cameron.

"Sure, it may kill us, but you never end our spirit. You have no one on your team...I think that gives us the better advantage." Said Callith.

"Then you have a fifty percent chance of losing one person if that's the case." Said Cameron. He fired a shard of metal as uss out of some kind of gun he had on his arm. A few cut through my flesh and wings, but melted in seconds. The pain coming from those shots only slightly caught me off guard. But when I turned to see Callith, there was already one on his leg.

"Callith, you okay, buddy? Come on, get up, we can do this." I said. "Let me pull this out."

Callith limped over to the wall. He couldn't move anymore. I think he needed time to heal. "I don't know, I can move on, Leon, we can't beat him." Said Callith.

"That's what we said before we kick Ryoth's ass, Cameron is just a man, we are more than that," I said.

"Looks like the odds are going in my favor! It's only a matter of time before I hit a lethal stop, and bye-bye for him. Just like your fucked up brother who died to an overgrown lizard." Said Callith.

"How dare you speak of him like that!? He was brave, strong, and more human than you ever were. I said.

"Remember what I said long ago? ...Were are a team together, and I bet Callum would have agreed if he were still around." Said Callith. "I need you to break that supply tank on this back, that way he will run out of Ichor faster."

I remembered what he said, to go on without him and move on, but not forget. It was our only hope to carry on in this cruel world.

"I would love to listen to both of you talk about your family, but I have better places to be. I rigged this place up was six thousand pounds of C-4." Said Cameron. Above the large doors opened, the light from the sky beamed through.

Callith was pointing behind me, and Cameron was high. "Leon! Stop him before he gets away, or we might never find him again. You go without me; I trust you to do this." Said Callith.

I hesitantly nod, but do it. My wings pushed down air, allowing me to lift off the floor. The metal of the shaft beside me was melting into liquid as I went near it. It must have been the intense heat coming from me. I saw Cameron's robot exoskeleton suit up above. I was faster.

"Get away from me, you insolent freak. You're wasting my time." Said Cameron. We only flew higher into the clouds. Water vapor froze on the metal instantly as we got higher. The suit creaked more as he tried to shake free of the ice. "Ugh, you're ruining my plans. It isn't designed to handle this type of cold!"

"Then give up, and I will make sure you will be put in jail. Callith won't hurt you, but I will if you don't surrender." I said.

"No, I ain't speing the rest of my life behind bars. That was going to be your job, before you destroyed my life, killed my wife, and tore my prison down to its foundations." Said Cameron.

Past all of the mist, we finally went near the top of the stratosphere. I use my tails to anchor myself to his machine, cutting into the metal platings as I tear out cables and wires. The sun on the other hand, was melting away my form faster as I ran out of energy. It was just me now, holding onto the foot of the exoskeleton. I pushed the glass the cemeron was behind harder, and harder and harder. I feel my consciousness slowly fading, until he stabbed a large blade through my chest. At the same time, I punched through the chest of his machine, causing it to lose power, and everything went dark after that.

I woke up on the floor, back down where Callith was. I was covered by Camerom's exoskeleton. Callith was trying to lift it off of me, but barely budged. I was able to push it off.

He pulled me from under it and held me upward. "Leon, I think you did, Cameron's nowhere to be seen..." Callith's last words were right at that moment. Cameron stabbed him in the back of the spine.

"Callith!? No, no, no, you can do this to me." I said. Callith's body dropped to the ground. I felt for a heartbeat...there was nothing.

That right there was the last bit I mercy I had left at the time. I stand up to hold Cameron by the collar. "Hahaha, yeah, feel it now!? Losing someone important to you isn't fun, is it?" Said Callith.

"You will pay for this in hell...I will travel there and send you far into the depths of the Eldritch realm.

"Too late, the bombs are going off." Said Cameron.

He was right, the detonator went off, and many explosions covered in shrapnel and debris covered in Ichor went in my way. The whole place collapsed, and it was only a flash before I woke back up in the void again, back in the sarcophagus. It was true, I guess I really was immortal, I could never die even if I wanted to.
