Chapter 13 - Chapter Thirteen: The First Room of Endings

📍Location: The Grand Library

🕰️Time: Malleable and Replayed

The gates before them weren't doors—

but mirrors of the decisions never made.

Raine, Lima, and Niko stood like ghosts of their own thoughts,

facing multiple gates without names,

each pulsing with something that felt like postponed regret.

"Every door isn't what you think... but what you run from."

A voice came from deep within the library, then vanished—

leaving only the echo of silence.

Without discussion, each of them moved toward the gate that pulled them in...

As if the library itself had chosen

who would be cursed with which possibility.

🔸 Raine – The Forgotten Writer

Raine stepped into a dim light.

No ceiling, no walls—just a wooden table

and a man seated behind it.

The man was Raine... but not as he was now.

He was older, weary,

and his eyes were filled with sentences yet to be written.

"Are you me?"

"I'm the one who wrote the ending you refused to face."

The other Raine was writing in an old notebook.

With every word he wrote,

a memory disappeared from Raine's mind.

He forgot his voice.

He forgot his brother's name.

He forgot... why he had come.

Then the other raised his pen and said:

"The end isn't your death...

It's when someone writes about you without your permission."

🔸 Lima – The Unborn Child

Lima found herself in a dark corridor,

lit by candles with no flames.

Stillness thickened the air,

and memories whispered through the walls.

On one wall,

she saw a small name carved—

not her own,

but one that knew her well.

Then she heard a voice.

A child.

He stood at the end of the hallway, faceless,

staring at her.

He resembled something she had buried deep within.

"I am the thing you chose not to remember."

"I am the loss that became you."

She couldn't touch him—

Time itself was a wall between them.

But she felt that somewhere in her soul...

he was still alive.

🔸 Niko – The Mirror of the Lost Answer

Niko found himself in a vast hall,

with only a single mirror.

But it didn't reflect him.

Instead, he saw a man who looked like him

being burned in a square.

People whispered around the fire

as ashes floated toward the sky.

Then the voice came:

"I am the question you run from."

"And you are the answer that refuses to exist."

Niko said nothing.

He approached the mirror...

and placed his hand upon it.

The mirror shattered—

but it wasn't the glass that broke...

It was time itself.

🔹 The Reunion

In a moment that belonged to no time,

the three of them returned to the same hall.

It was dark.

At its center stood an hourglass—

but the sand was rising, not falling.

They didn't speak.

But their expressions had changed:

Raine now had a shadow in his eye,

as if endings lived within him.

Lima held an invisible wall,

as if not wanting to let go of a hidden hand.

Niko... was no longer alone.

Then a deep voice echoed:

"All who enter the Room of Endings are written only once.

The rest... are erased."

The hall shook.

The sand began to swirl.

Raine reached for the hourglass.

Lima stopped him—without a word.

Niko looked at them both and said:

"Let's write the ending...

but with our own hands."

And in that moment, they fell.

Not into the void—

but into a chapter yet to be written.

🔚 End of Chapter 13

âť“ If you faced your ending, face to face...

Would you choose to relive it?

Or vanish with it?

🔜 Next Chapter: The Corridor That Refuses to Lead Anywhere

Between falling and landing...

There is a single moment untouched by time.

Where worlds blur, and truth dissolves into possibility.

Raine, Lima, and Niko awaken in a corridor that leads to nothing—

because it is not allowed to lead anywhere.

There, they won't face enemies...

but the versions of themselves they abandoned.

In "The Corridor That Refuses to Lead Anywhere,"

Time isn't still—it's furious.

And passage isn't granted to survivors...

but to those who erase themselves first.
