Avery's eyes were fixed on the shadow figure , her heart racing with anticipation . Who it what was this creature , and what did it want ?
As the figure drew closer , Avery could see that it was talk and imposing , with eyes that glowed like embers . It's skin seemed to shift and writhe like a living thing , and Avery could feel a dark energy emanating from it .
Julian stepped forward , his eyes locked onto the shadow figure . " Who are you ?" he demanded .
The figure didn't respond , but instead reached out a hand and touched Julian's forehead . Julian's eyes widened , and he stumbled backwards , as if he had been struck .
Avery rushed to his side , helping him to his feet . " What happened ?" she asked .
Julian's eyes were dazed , and he shook his head . " I saw something ," he said . " A vision of the future . A future where we're fighting against an ancient evil ."
Avery's heart skipped a beat as she listened to Julian's words . This was the same vision she had seen , the same vision that had driven her to embark on this journey .
Ryker stepped forward , his eyes narrowed . " What do you want ?" he demanded of the shadow figure .
The figure finally spoke , it's voice low and menacing . " I am a messenger ," it said . " A messenger from the other side . And I have come to warn you if the danger that lies ahead ."
Avery felt a shiver run down her spine as she listened to the figure's words . What danger lay ahead , and how would they possibly prepare for it ?
The shadow figure began to fade away , its eyes glowing with an otherworldly light . " You have been warned ," it said . " Now it's up to you to prepare for what's coming ."
And with that , the figure vanished , leaving Avery , Julian , Ryker , and Lyra staring at each other in shock and confusion .
