Chapter 25 - Sinister Plan

Noah took his time before stepping out of the car when they arrived at Caldwell Construction.

He checked his system for any notifications about potential dangers, much like the alert he received when Jack was about to stab him. But he immediately felt relieved when he saw nothing that worried him.

"Noah, are you sure you want to meet him?" Jason asked, feeling concerned when Noah told him that this man was actually the father of his enemy, who had sent thugs to ruin Caldwell Construction yesterday.

"Absolutely. If I fail to show up now, he might sabotage my business again. I definitely want to avoid that." Noah answered confidently.

Despite wanting to ignore Victor White, he tried to find out what he really wanted.

"You are right!" Jason briefly responded while scanning their surroundings. Before turning to Noah again, he added, "Well, if I saw a few car parks here, it seems Victor White only brings one car."

"How do you know that?" Noah asked, glancing outside to check, but he couldn't even identify which car belonged to Victor White. The parking lot looked the same to him, with nothing unusual to notice.

Jason chuckled softly as he got ready to leave the car, "Well, I've been here for nearly two years now, and I'm familiar with who owns the car park in this area."

"Damn! How could I forget who you are, Jason..." Noah laughed as he opened the car door. "Let's go find out what he wants!"

...

As Noah and Jason stepped out of the elevator, Emma emerged from her office simultaneously. She was surprised to see them.

"Noah, Jason... what brings you here?" she asked with a smile, yet Noah noticed the concern in her gaze.

Noah halted in front of her. "Emma, I need to meet your father."

"My Dad has a sudden guest, and they seem serious enough for you to interrupt..." Emma replied anxiously, looking at her father's door.

"How many people are inside?" Noah asked calmly.

"Three. If I'm not mistaken, one of them was Mr. Victor White." Emma's eyes reflected her concern once more.

"I don't know if you're familiar with him, but he was part of the old money in this city and has ownership of several major businesses." She explained.

Noah knew who Victor White was; he smiled at Emma and continued to Alan Caldwell's office.

"Noah...? Do you understand what I'm trying to say, don't you? Why are you..." Emma asked, rushing to catch up with him, but Jason halted her.

"Emma, please stay here." Jason lifted his hand to stop her. When he noticed Emma protest with her gaze, he continued, "Your father called Noah for help. Please don't worry; nothing will happen!"

Although surprised to hear that, she remained silent, merely gazing at Noah and Jason as they walked into her father's office.

Emma was already confused when her father informed her that the company would not be facing bankruptcy, thanks to the arrival of a new investor.

Just an hour before the person who attempted to bankrupt their company returns, she feels a little anxious about her father and the company.

Nevertheless, Jason reassured her that Noah had arrived to assist.

'How could Noah help my dad and company?' she wonders.

...

Inside Alan Caldwell's office, Noah sat beside Alan, watching Victor White across from him. He noticed two men sitting beside Victor, possibly his lawyer and bodyguard.

"Noah, I really hate doing this; there is nothing I can do but reveal your identity. This person has been putting a lot of pressure on me. I wish there were another way to handle this." Alan Caldwell whispered, ensuring Noah could hear him clearly.

"It's fine, uncle. I can understand your position and what you've been through," Noah answered in the same hushed tone before turning his gaze back to Victor.

Noah couldn't help but chuckle to himself as Victor stared at him from head to toe, clearly mocking him with his gaze.

"Mr. Caldwell, I assumed you were contacting the company's new owner. Why did you contact this young man instead?" Victor inquired, looking intently at Alan Caldwell.

"Mr. White, I did what you asked..." Alan replied calmly.

"Are you trying to waste my time? Call the damn owner while I'm still being nice to you!" Victor White snapped. He could no longer maintain his patience.

Victor White felt disappointed after spending time in vain. He believed that the person who sabotaged his attempt to push this company toward bankruptcy was another affluent person from this city, which is why he needed to meet with him alone.

Alan Caldwell sighed heavily. "Mr. White, this young man is the company's new owner. You can discuss whatever you proposed to me earlier with him, as only he has the authority to decide!"

Victor and the man in glasses sitting beside him were shocked. They both now look at Noah, and their gazes clearly reflect their disbelief.

Once he managed to overcome his shock, Victor finally asked, "You invested in this company?"

Victor's gaze was piercing enough to intimidate Noah, yet Noah remained unfazed. He had transformed from the timid person he once was into Noah Morgan, now at power level one.

Noah crossed his legs casually while leaning against the back of the sofa.

Earlier, he had not paid attention to Victor because he was too busy reading this man's profile in his system.

"No..."

"No? Then why are you here?" Victor asked, visibly annoyed!

"Mister..." Noah pretended not to know his name, turning to Alan Caldwell as if to ask.

"Victor White," Alan said quickly.

"Ah, Mr. White, please refrain yourself from interrupting me?" Noah asked calmly, a faint smile playing on his lips as he looked at Victor.

Noah felt satisfied as he saw Victor's face gradually redden, struggling to suppress his anger.

He pushed aside Victor's irritation and said, "I didn't invest in this company, but I bought it entirely. I'm the owner of Caldwell Construction. I hope that's clear."

"You b..." Victor doesn't have a chance to continue his words when Noah raises his hand to stop him.

Obediently, Victor tightly closed his mouth. However, in his mind, he made a sinister plan to punish this arrogant young man.
