Selina scanned the dark, quiet street.
"There's no cab. Getting a bus at this hour will be impossible. I need to finish my last design before tomorrow. How am I supposed to get back?"
"We're riding back."
"In what? I thought you came—" Selina followed his gaze and spotted a black motorbike parked nearby.
The sight of the glinting motorbike sent a flash of unease down her spine. She'd freeze to death on the way, she thought, rubbing her arms to ward off the midnight chill seeping into her skin.
Zane watched her curl into herself against the cold. He reached for his leather jacket, but his hand paused, hesitating.
As Selina was about to protest further, she felt something hit her face. She peeled the heavy material away and looked down—it was his jacket.
"Put this on before you freeze," he said, his voice laced with a subtle, begrudging concern.
Selina's lips pulled into a ridiculous grimace.
