A short walk down the alley, Selina suddenly slowed. Her gaze flicked across five men in black suits pacing in a tight formation. Their steps were firm, synchronized, almost military.
"Who are they?" she whispered, studying the men carefully. She noticed the metallic rods and the disciplined way they scanned the area—like they were guarding something.
"You don't know them?" Annabelle whispered back.
Selina shook her head. "Seeing them for the first time."
"But something is off," Annabelle murmured, voice trembling. "They were already standing like this when I came earlier. I nearly had a panic attack—I thought they were after me."
Instinctively, Selina shifted closer, almost brushing Annabelle's shoulder, her protective instinct kicking in despite her own nerves.
"Don't look them in the eye no matter what. They might be dangerous," she whispered, her voice edged with nervousness and cautiousness. "Just keep going."
