Before he could utter a word, Selina put the scarf back over his face. She gripped his arm and pulled him along with her.
"I know you're trying to hide me from your colleagues, but I'm already wearing a mask. The scarf is unnecessary," he muttered, struggling to see through the fabric.
"It is necessary! Someone might recognise you even with that mask, and I can't afford that," she hissed through clenched teeth, practically dragging him out of her office in a hurried, reluctant attempt to escape the chaos he'd just thrown her into.
"But I can't see like this." His tone was tight with irritation as he stumbled beside her, carefully navigating the corridor while juggling two heavy Kraft bags in each hand—four in total.
Selina ignored him, too busy responding to their coworkers' suspicious murmurs and bewildered stares.
"What's going on?"
"Who is he?"
"Why are they acting weird?"
