In the Grade 9 (8) class, there was a chaotic mix of noise and conversation.
The temporary monitor was a tall girl who could not stand it any longer and shouted, "Stop making noise and be quiet. If you do not want to study, go out by yourselves."
The entire classroom suddenly fell silent, then erupted into even louder sounds, a chaotic mix of booing, disdain, complaints, and insults.
The tall girl had never been treated like this before. She immediately felt upset, her eyes welling up with tears. At the back of the classroom, a burly boy with a ruffian-like appearance, who had a crush on the girl, grew furious when he saw her being bullied.
He said loudly, "Stop making noise and be quiet."
Everyone turned to look at the burly boy and immediately fell silent. Even the students who had been cursing the most fiercely moments earlier lowered their heads in fear, pretending to be dead.
No one wanted to anger the bully among the boarding students.
