On the second day of the holiday, Jake slept until ten o'clock. His sleep quality had always been excellent, and even though he had stayed up late the night before, he woke up feeling refreshed and full of energy.
Jake lay in bed and habitually picked up his phone.
As a civil servant, Mia had a full seven-day holiday and was having a blast traveling abroad with her parents. She had almost forgotten about Jake, her boyfriend, only calling him before leaving and afterward just sharing photos on WhatsApp—what she ate, what clothes she wore, which attractions she visited, and so on.
Jake was quite envious. He had never traveled in his life, but he had heard that couples usually went on honeymoon trips after marriage. Before, Jake wouldn't have dared to dream of such things, but in just a few months at "Shigella," he had earned as much as he would have in a year at his old company.
"Once I fulfill the agreement, I'll definitely travel with Mia."
