Watching the stack of papers graded by Aunt Taylor gradually diminish, occasionally seeing her twist her neck slightly to relieve the soreness from prolonged bowing.
"Aunt."
"Hmm?"
"Let me massage your shoulders. Keeping your head down like this is bad for your cervical spine."
Taylor's eyes scanned the test papers, thinking Jake was joking.
But the next second, that tall figure stood behind her, and warm, broad palms pressed onto her shoulders, kneading without hesitation.
"Aunt, how's the pressure?"
The soreness in her shoulders gradually faded under Jake's even pressure. "Jake, I didn't know you could massage?"
Jake said proudly, "I learned it from the director when I was little. He also had spinal problems, so I'd massage him whenever I had time."
Jake spoke lightly, but Taylor knew he had endured a difficult childhood.
