Chapter 5 - 05 — To Be Blessed By The Gods

It was currently the early hours of Inazuma—for all nations for that matter.

At such a moment, Yuuto was already up, jogging as he took in the crisp and clean air that was different from the modern world where he came from.

He hummed a tune, one that he was quite fond of even before transmigating. It seemed to resonate with the birds native to the land ruled by the Shogun as they chirped at the melody, following Yuuto as he continued his pace.

If one were to bask themselves in such a sight with their senses, they would undoubtedly admire such a view.

'If there was one thing that humanity got right, it was definitely music.'

He believed, as his thoughts became much more deeper, now delving to the things that happened when it was still evening.

If the simulation he did was anything to go by, the Shogun would order two decrees that had devestating effects throughout Inazuma.

In fact, it caused a full-blown war and rebellion among the people.

However, with that being the case, what were the decrees ordered?

He could conclude that one of them had something to do with Visions, after all, the simulation itself had brought up the fact that he seemed to be helping Vision holders escape the clutches of the Shogun.

So one of the decrees was either the order of capturing of people who held Visions, or confescating the item itself among those who have it.

However, he was leaning more to the latter.

When he first realized Visions existed, as a person who came from the modern world, he did have a slight curiosity regarding them.

There was a time in which he asked others, specifically people within the clan how they got their respective Visions, and if there were conditions that needed to be met to receive one.

Unfortunately, he was met with disappointment, receiving answers all similar:

"Being blessed by the gods."

Blessed?

Did that mean he needed the favor of others to touch upon the realm of manipulating the elements?

If that was the case, he didn't need a Vision.

They were after all, just another option to make ends meet.

Aura, which his simulation self unlocked seemed to be a much better option. And if the Yuuto in the simulation could do it, so could he.

Polishing himself seemed much easier than having to wait for any of the gods to bestow him with the power to manipulate an element.

Anyway, if the gods themselves were the ones who granted Visions, then that must mean they have an use for such items too.

Perhaps it was to reclaim power that might be within each Vision.

Or something else...

Yuuto could only wonder why a god might need what they bestowed.

But, he would prepare—slowly stocking on items and strengthening himself.

All would now be a part of his daily life.

'Hm? Where am I?'

Yuuto thought as he quickly observed his surroundings, realizing that he was now in the forest which lead to the Grand Narukami Shrine and Kamisato Estate, Chinju Forest.

Without knowing, he had unconsciously went to this serene and majestic grove, an area he was quite fond of as whenever he did leave the Oosumi Clan's compound, he would always spend some time here.

It was a forest which was shrouded by an eternal night, with the glow of an unseen moon casting an ethereal and serene ambiance throughout its borders.

Within it, was a semi-stone pathway with landmarks such as small torri gates and lamps on each side of the path within reasonable distances.

If you were to follow the path, you would encounter a river that would naturally intercept the pathway as it would surely flow into the sea, beautiful blue flowers, abandoned shrines, stone statues of the supernatural and gods, all of which further painting the forest as sacred.

What was an era where and when gods and youkai roamed the lands was now delivered through mouth and paper—tales, legends, and even superstitions shared by both nobles from clans, people, and even of the subjects spoken of.

Some to scare children, some as warnings to the ordinary, some spoke of the glory of what once dwelled such a grove and oh so much more.

However, in the end, all of them had one purpose—

To be remembered by those who carry history once more, the present.

And as if in a cycle, when the present passes on what people call as now, they will also be retold the same way as how what has already come.

Through mouth—legends and tales to be spoken by the people who will become elders sooner than they might realize, a testament as to what they have seen and what will once more pass to those who will sieze a

Through paper and ink—tales written and crafted intricately, woven together to spin and breathe magic within great minds to say their piece of what will eventually be a bygone era.

The idea of it all, the idea of it being sacred and a place that remembered the dealings of both the supernatural and the common folk held a certain charm in Yuuto's eyes.

In a way, it was poetic.

Romantic, even.

He sat down by the grove's river, his legs folded underneath his thighs as his weight rested on them and his heels, the grass a pleasant sensation on his feet.

The soft breeze of the wind, the smooth and delicate flow of water from the river which was in melody with the pleasant chirping of the birds and insects alike, the ambiance of serenity which was also from multiple factors like the blue flowers which were now illuminating thanks to the soft moon glow that was on them and Yuuto.

He took them in with a small imperceptible smile, and for a moment, slowly closed his eyes.

Here, he felt calm.

Not only as a person from the modern world,

A transmigrator,

The heir to a noble clan,

A person who had only ever yearned for success,

But also...

As just a man who was currently viewing the splendor and beauty of nature—

Life.

Yuuto Oosumi could say that here, he felt at peace.

=====================================================================

At the same time, while still basking in the tranquility, a faint glow different from the surroundings flowers emanated by Yuuto's side.

Its beautiful shine was like the moon above that casted its gaze upon the area.

It felt sacred.

Perhaps, even more than the moment itself.

What came from such a magnificent glow was what Yuuto thought was another means to an end.

Unbeknownst to him, himself, he had now been—

"—Blessed by the gods."

As now, by his side laid a Hydro Vision.

Perhaps by the design of fate, it was not the wielder himself who would first see his own Vision, but by a young elegant woman of his age, who was adored by the public.

Author's Note:

Hello, everyone!

It is I, Phony!

First off, I did not expect to reach 115 collections 13k views (according to the numbers) already. Thank you so much for the time all of you are willing to spend on this FF, I appreciate it a lot!

Second, I would have liked to make this chapter actually consist of two, however, as it is already Tuesday where I am from, it would feel weird if I did not already publish a chapter by now.

Lastly, it is quite evident that things are quite slow pace. It is to be expected as this is how I want things to be. In a way, I believe that by doing this I'll be able to flesh out Yuuto and perhaps other characters. However, there will definitely be action down the line!

If you believe there are mistakes or ways for me to improve my writing generally, let me know!

That's all.

Phony, out.
