"Can the floor endure another test?" Adyr's voice was calm as he pointed out the tiny cracks that were spreading like thin veins along the walls.
They were mostly surface level, as if only the outer layer of plaster had peeled away in places. Even so, he wasn't sure if the building could handle another quake like that.
"No worries, just allow us a minute to prepare the room." The head researcher replied immediately, almost too quickly. It felt like he didn't care what happened to the building itself and only wanted to see more data appear on his screen.
Then he tapped a few times on the screen of his tablet to open the door of the room.
A few sharp clicks and mechanical sounds came from the door. Then, with a heavy, echoing thud, the thick door pushed open a crack and suddenly began sucking air from the corridor, drawing in fresh air from outside to replace the burned, stale air inside and balance the pressure again.
