Chapter 16 - Chapter - 16 Meeting Misty

A figure emerged from the shadows of the cave, her outline sharp and confident despite the soaked clothes clinging to her like second skin. Orange hair, tied into a messy side ponytail, dripped water down her cheeks and neck. Her yellow crop top stuck to her frame, the red suspenders framing her small but firm shoulders, and her denim shorts—mud-stained and soaked—clung stubbornly to her thighs.

She looked like she had walked straight out of a storm.

Ash froze, holding his breath. He hadn't expected to run into anyone in this cave, let alone her. she carried herself like someone who'd punch first and maybe ask your name later.

Her eyes flicked to him, sharp and assessing. "You lost too?" she asked, voice cool but edged with curiosity.

Ash blinked, suddenly very aware of how awkwardly he was standing. "Uh—yeah. Kind of. I wasn't expecting the rain to flood the trail."

The girl scoffed lightly. "Figures. I was trying to catch a Water-type near the falls when the storm hit. Barely made it here before I got swept off the rocks."

She shook her head, sending a spray of droplets everywhere. Ash watched, a bit too long, before snapping out of it.

"I'm Ash," he said, offering a hand.

She looked at it for a beat, then took it with a firm grip. "Misty."

The handshake ended, but Ash was still watching her, trying not to stare. She was... well, pretty. Cute in that tough, no-nonsense way. That outfit wasn't exactly what he expected to see on a girl in the wild, but it suited her—like she belonged in the rain and the mud and didn't care what anyone thought. 'Guess I should do some cosplay things with Daisy and Mom huh ?' Ash thought.

"I like your... uh, suspenders," he said, immediately regretting it.

Misty gave him a weird look. "Thanks?" she said slowly, then smirked a little. "You always compliment girls soaking wet in caves, or am I just lucky?"

Ash flushed. "N-No! I mean—I'm just trying to be friendly!"

She laughed—light, real, and a little bit teasing. "Relax, Ash. You're not so bad. For a cave guy."

He chuckled nervously. "You're not so bad yourself. For a storm girl."

They stood there for a moment, the storm still rumbling faintly in the distance outside.

She looked him over, eyes flicking from his soaked hat to the still-crackling Pikachu perched on his shoulder.

"Wait. Is that a Pikachu?"

Ash brightened. "Yeah! He's my starter."

Misty raised an eyebrow. "Never seen one with that much static. Did you overcharge him or something?"

Pikachu looked sad seeing Misty saying that about him.

[Ciel: Fufu~ She's blunt. I like her.]

Ash grinned. "Nah, he's just full of personality. Like someone else in this cave."

Misty rolled her eyes, but the corner of her mouth twitched like it wanted to smile.

"…You're a trainer, huh?"

Ash nodded. "Just starting out. Heading to Viridian."

Ding

[Ciel: {New Mission: Add Misty In The Harem}

Rewards: (??)

(Note:- Since She is one of the

FMC's You will get a lot of rewards)]

'Okay. Here comes the mission.'Ash thought.

As the rain thundered outside.

Ash shifted slightly, the cave floor cold and damp beneath him. He glanced across at the girl—now wringing out her ponytail and muttering under her breath—and offered a smile.

"So…it's pretty boring waiting here", he said, scratching the back of his head. "Should we actually, uh… introduce ourselves like goals and all?"

Misty paused mid-wring, then looked at him and gave a small nod. "Yeah, guess that makes sense."

Ash perked up. "Cool! I'll go first then. I'm Ash Ketchum, from Pallet Town! I wanna be a Pokémon Master!"

He gestured proudly to his companions. "And these are my Pokémon! You've already met Pikachu—my starter and partner."

Pikachu sparked slightly and gave a cheerful "Pika!"

Ash motioned behind him toward the entrance. "And I've got Eevee, Pidgeotto, Arbok , poliwag and ", he pointed towards a pokeball on his belt , " a spearow —he's new, actually. Just joined after a… let's say, weird situation."

[Ciel: Fufu~ A new addition to your little circus. How exciting!]

Misty arched an eyebrow. "Pallet Town, huh? You have already caught so many pokemons? Impressive. But You still have a long way to go 'Future Pokemon Master'. "

Ash grinned. "Gotta start somewhere."

She rolled her eyes again, but this time there was definitely the sign of a smile.

"My turn, then," she said, brushing wet strands from her face. "I'm Misty. I like Water type Pokemons, they are the cutest. I want to become a water type Pokemon master someday."

Ash laughed. "Didn't think you were. You're more of a—uh—water tornado."

Misty smirked. "You saying I cause damage?"

Ash raised both hands. "I'm saying you're powerful and hard to avoid plus beautiful."

Pikachu: "Pika pi…" translated: Smooth.

[Mission Update: Misty Affection +1

(Ciel: Oh? That line actually worked? Unexpected… but impressive.)]

Ash looked out toward the cave entrance where the rain still poured in sheets.

"Well, Misty… guess we're stuck here for a while."

She glanced at him, thoughtful. "Yeah. Might as well not kill each other while we wait."

[Ciel: Now that would be an entertaining battle.]

Ash chuckled. "Deal."

A sudden gust of wind swept into the cave, sending a shiver down Ash's spine. He glanced at Misty—she was hugging her arms, clearly cold. Her soaked clothes weren't doing her any favors, and neither were his.

"Brr… It's freezing in here," Ash muttered.

Misty's teeth chattered as she tried to wring out her denim shorts one more time. "No kidding. This cave feels like an icebox."

Ash looked around the cave floor, then back at his team. "We need a fire."

Pikachu perked up, ears twitching.

Ash pointed to a drier patch of ground near the wall. "There. We can build one there."

Misty stood, rubbing her arms. "Unless you've got a Flamethrower stashed in one of those Poké Balls, how exactly are we lighting it?"

Ash grinned. "Actually…"

He was searching in his backpack for show but just simply took out a lighter from his inventory and lit up the fire.

"Wow you are really prepared huh ? Not like a rookie trainer at all '' Misty said impressed.

'Rookie trainer are you talking about yourself ' Ash said internally trying not to say that out loud.

Ash called all his Pokemons to come near the fire so they can feel warm too.

Eeevee came and sat on his lap "vui vui ".

"Oh you have a Eevee ? it's so cute. I also want one for myself cause I want a vaporeon ",Misty said with a bit of envy.

"Ha ha yeah she is cute ", Ash said patting Eevee's head. "Vui vee "

Pigdeotto just found a place near Ash.

For poliwag as a tadpole Pokemon the rain is more enjoyable. So he didn't care much.

"Well, Your poliwag looks grumpy seems unhappy but strong close to evolving you are really lucky. How did you catch him?" Misty asked.

"Well I know him for quite some time now. I just defeated him with Pikachu then offered him some food and he agreed to stay with us." He said chuckling.

"Ha ha ha, wait seriously? You must be a good cook then huh ?" Misty asked laughing.

"Well I am pretty good at cooking I will show you sometime "

"Ok since you are looking so proud it must be true , then I will wait " Misty agreed.

As for Arbok .....

Misty took a half-step back instinctively. "You brought that in here?!"

"It's fine," Ash assured her quickly. "Arbok's… calmer now."

[Ciel: Tamed beast. Just like you'll do with her eventually, fufu~]

Ash looked at Arbok. "You Can Rest for now Arbok there's no wild Pokemon here."

Arbok blinked… then gave a low hiss.

Ash fed the fire carefully, adding more dry branches.

Misty slowly walked over, holding her hands near the growing warmth. "Okay… I'll admit, that was pretty useful."

Ash grinned. "Told you."

They both sat cross-legged by the fire, the orange glow reflecting in their eyes. Steam rose from their clothes as the heat started to do its job.

Ash leaned back with a sigh. "So much better."

Misty tugged her wet top away from her skin slightly. "Yeah… Finally starting to feel my fingers again."

Pikachu curls up near the fire, tiny sparks dancing between his cheeks.

Ash glanced at Misty from the corner of his eye. Her soaked ponytail was still dripping, but the firelight gave her skin a soft glow. She caught him looking and raised an eyebrow.

"What?"

"Nothing!" he said quickly, face turning red. "Just… you look less stormy now."

Misty smirked. "Don't get used to it."

[Ciel: Fufu~ Sparks and fire… I love when tension heats up literally and emotionally.

(Raphael: Misty Affection +1)]

Ash smiled sheepishly. "Still better than freezing to death."

-----

"Achhoo!"

Misty sneezed hard, hugging her arms tighter as another shiver ran down her spine.

Ash's smile faded immediately. "Whoa, are you okay?"

She sniffled and rubbed her nose with the back of her hand. "I'm fine. Just the cold catching up."

Ash frowned, concern flickering in his eyes. "You should change out of those wet clothes. You're gonna get sick if you stay like that."

Misty gave him a sideways look. "Yeah, and just strip down in the middle of a cave with a guy I just met? Great plan."

Ash held up both hands, panic flashing across his face. "N-No! I mean—there's a corner behind that big rock! You can change there, and I swear, we won't peek! Right, Pikachu?"

"Pika!" Pikachu saluted with a serious expression, sparks flaring slightly for dramatic emphasis.

[Ciel: Oh my, how noble of you.]

[Raphael: Consent and privacy respected. Good job, Host]

Misty blinked at them… then snorted a short laugh. "Alright, alright. You're ridiculous, but fine. I'll take the corner."

She stood up, stretching a little. "But if I catch either of you trying anything…" She let the threat hang in the air, eyes narrowing with mock warning.

Ash gulped. "Wouldn't dream of it."

Misty smirked, grabbing her bag and slipping around the large stone nearby.

Ash let out a deep breath, turning toward the fire and pointedly staring into it. Pikachu gave him a side-eye and a knowing smirk.

"What?" Ash whispered defensively. "I was just being helpful."

Pikachu: "Pika pika…" (Translated: Sure you were.)

[Ciel: Fufu~ You're playing the long game. Respectable. Keep building that trust.]

Ash tried to keep his mind off the sounds of rustling cloth and zippers behind the rock, focusing on keeping the fire steady and his thoughts clean.

Soon, Misty's voice called out, "Okay, done."

She stepped back around, now wearing a dry orange tank top and a clean pair of gym shorts from her pack. Her side ponytail had been quickly towel-dried and retied, a few rebellious strands sticking out. She still looked like a wild storm—but a little warmer now.

"Feel better?" Ash asked.

"Yeah," she admitted, sitting beside him again. "Thanks."

[Ciel: A good start… but there's much more ahead, dear master.]

[RAPHAEL: Misty Affection +1]

Ash smiled, feeling oddly proud. "Anytime."

The fire crackled between, inside the cave, a quiet warmth had started to settle.
