Chapter 21 - The sea

Nora turned beet red, her stomach was filled with butterflies. Her heartbeat raced, she felt her hand wet with sweat; her throat dry. The weather was cool but she felt hot. His voice was low and seductive. He had said that and kept his eyes on her like he was waiting for her reply. She couldn't dare look him in the eye.

She scoffed not looking at his direction. How confident was he that he thought she wanted to seduce him. There were many other male dancers she could seduce. "What? I just dressed to align with the beach huh". She had turned towards him, her eyebrows raised with a pout on her lips. She could see the small grin on his lips getting wider. He had an arrogant look on his face. She immediately took a glass of water to quench the sudden dryness in her throat.

"You look beautiful" the sudden compliment slipped from his lips, leaving her gasping for air. The water rushed the wrong way, flooding her throat. She coughed violently, pain spread through her chest. She felt his hands, on her back trying to soothe her the burning sensation in her chest. She glanced at him, she was surprised to see a smirk on his face. He had done it on purpose, it was already obvious to him what her reaction would be. She shaked off his hand from her back giving him an angry look.

"Are you alright Nora?" You ri had asked. Nora gave her a nod, a small smile lingered on her lips.

After dinner, Nora took a walk by the beach. She had removed her slippers to feel sand on the beach. She inhaled deeply as if she wanted to store the smell of the ocean. The sound of the waves was like music to her, she could feel the breeze on her skin and hair. There she knew she was happy. She might not have much to brag of but she was almost twenty, she could take her time to get what she wanted for herself and all she had missed out on.

Nora walked to the edge of a boardwalk by the sea, she sat down on the wooden surface letting her legs dangle above the water. Everything seemed perfect except they was no one with her. She wished she at least had her sister with her or Freya and Alva. She didn't need her parents, they were her biggest nemesis. She wondered if they were a bit worried about her.

She had imagined how their reaction would be when they found out she had left but she didn't want to be hopeful about it. They might have been nonchalant about it. The thought of that made Nora let out a whimper. Her lungs was sucked out of air, her heart throbbed and her eyes became glassy with tears. She hit her chest trying to breathe, but it felt like she was suffocating. She inhaled deeply to calm her throbbing heart. She assured herself, she had others now. Even though they were not her family, they had helped her alot. Her mind drifted to Yoongi, he had been her best supporter. He had sheltered her and comforted her in the best way possible. She had to be strong for herself, for her team and for Yoongi.

Nora quickly stood up, it was already late, she had to go back to her room and prepare for the next day. She gave a last stare to the vast ocean, but she found herself falling into it. Some one had pushed her. She gave a loud yelp before her voice was suppressed by the ocean. She had never been to the beach so she couldn't swim. She struggled, trying to stay afloat but she could feel herself getting sucked in the water, her lungs filling with water. She couldn't breathe. She gave up, her mind filled with different thoughts.

Was this how she was going to die? Maybe she shouldn't have left Norway. She didn't even get to see her sister again. She didn't even get to do her first official event. She didn't even get to confess her feelings to Yoongi.
