[Goblin Rider Lv.10 x98]
[Ogre Lv.17 x5]
Jonah and I ran along the eastward trail and we soon encountered another obstacle in our path.
Five ogres and almost a hundred goblins.
The monsters were stretched along the mountain path that it was more difficult to find empty clearing of the road.
There were also not many boulders jutting out from the hills bordering the side of the path.
I had to take the trail down with the monsters if I wanted to sweep them with a landslide. A strategy we could not count on if we wanted to proceed forward.
While dashing straight to the enemies, I casted my spell.
[Maha Topan Api]
A fiery gale swirled around me.
['Combined Grand Magic, 'Blazing Breeze (★★★★)'s has been activated!]
[Caster - 'Serafina (★★★★)']
I faced my palms against the cluster of goblins and ogres in front of us and activated the spell.
[Roar]
The burning wind burst forth and blasted through the enemy ranks.
Some were obliterated by either the wind or the fire or both. Some casted beyond the edge of the cliff. Some were left with heavy burn injuries.
There were a number of goblin riders left but I managed to kill all the ogres.
[Goblin Riders Lv.10 x17]
Allowing Jonah to take the lead now, we both stormed toward the fiery path ahead.
Boom!
Jonah launched his exploding spear and claimed ten at once.
[Davah Shashanam]
I enchanted a small boulder by the side of the road and caused it to smash through another five pairs coming in from the rear.
They all plunged to their deaths at the bottom of the cliff.
Jonah rushed forward and eliminated the final two pairs with ease.
['Luan (★★)' is on the brink of death. Her life is in danger!]
"Let's keep moving!"
I did not let Jonah rest and continued charging forward.
The mountain path began to curve and slope in a way we could not clearly see what was in front of us.
My detection field spread ahead of us, sensing anything that lied within our trail.
I discovered more snouted heads and giant figures. Numbered in about a hundred in total.
All were spread along the mountain path in groups of tens and twenties.
['Serafina (★★★★)'s Mana Detection has levelled up to level 2!]
Jonah and I reached the top of a hill and we caught sight of our next batch of enemies.
[Goblin Rider Lv.10 x117]
[Ogre Lv.17 x8]
At the far end of the mountain path, to the hills several turns beyond, across the hordes of monsters, I spotted the crossroad which led to the northward path leading to the sixth floor valley.
Judging from Jonah's squinting gaze, he did too.
"Kill all the monsters and get to the crossroad."
I told my comrade.
"Of course!"
Jonah replied, clenching his spear.
We stormed downhill and engaged the first batch of the tens.
[Maha Agni]
My fire blasted through the ogres and goblin riders. I focused my attack on killing the ogres foremost.
Thanks to the narrow road, the monsters were clustered together.
My spell claimed at least six to seven of them on a single casting.
After my initial assault, Jonah rushed forward and struck down any remaining monsters.
We continued on with the same strategy for the second batch of tens.
Even with just the two of us, Jonah and I managed to get through fifty monsters unharmed.
There were two obstacles left blocking us to the intersection. They were the ones grouped in twenties.
['Tarran (★★)' has been inflicted with bleeding. His stamina will be reduced for a period of time.]
Kraahhh!
An ogre tried to charge at us ahead of its horde.
[Davah Shashanam]
Using telekinesis, I chipped away part of the cliff the ogre was running along.
The giant monster slipped through the newly-made crevice and plunged to its death.
I resumed casting my next spell.
[Maha Jwala]
My flame consumed the rest of the goblin riders accompanying the fallen ogre.
I made sure none was left for Jonah's spear to claim.
We continued on to the final batch and repeated the same strategy. There was no ogre left on this group, fortunately.
['Ashta (★★)' is on the brink of death. Her life is in danger!]
We made it to the crossroad and the northward path was upon us.
As expected, the trail was no longer as empty as when we found it on the sixth floor.
[Goblin Rider Lv.10 x128]
Monsters stretched all along the path. All had taken notice of us and started their charge.
It was no longer an easy hike this time.
While Jonah was pouring health potion on his recent wounds, undeterred by the advancing enemies, I casted my spell to break through the riders.
[Maha Topan Api]
A hissing sound emerged from my extended palms.
[Roar]
Great pillar of swirling flame shot out to the wave of monsters.
The goblin riders immediately pulled the reins on their wolves as they saw the charging fire.
But given the narrow mountain path, they had nowhere else to run.
Boom!
Most of the riders and their mounts were obliterated by the attack.
Those that survived had bear terrible burn wounds on them. The kinds that would kill them in seconds.
Jonah and I ran past through the remaining monster, ignoring most of them and only engaged on those that tried to stand in our way.
['Luan (★★)' has returned to the Goddesses' embrace! Her fighting spirit will be remembered forever.]
We made the turn that led back east.
[Goblin Rider Lv.10 x87]
More monsters were standing within our path once more.
But fortunately they were not as plenty as the previous group and the path was still as narrow as ever.
I recalled the traces of black powder found on the sixth floor.
It would be best if I refrained from using fire spell from this point on.
Wind. Third Circle.
[Maha Topan]
Gust of wind swirled around me.
[Roar]
Powerful gale emerged from my palms and swept through the enemies.
I raised my hands and activated the spell's final stage.
[Spin]
The gale transformed into a twister, charging along the eastward trail and obliterating enemies standing within its path.
['Serafina (★★★★)'s Intermediate Wind Magic has levelled up to level 4!]
Barely less than ten monsters, goblins and wolves, were left to face us. All had either lost an arm or a leg or both.
Jonah took care of clearing the path as we sprinted ahead. I used the brief journey to gulp down another vial of mana potion as I sensed the strain on my mana vessel.
Unlike in the sixth floor, we did not encounter the downward slope at the end of the eastward path.
The end of the trail led to a vast clearing, on the same level as the trail, surrounded by rocky hills.
Beyond the clearing we could see the northward valley leading to the northern coast.
The valley was still clear. It was not buried yet.
But the group of goblins forming trails of black powder throughout the rocky hills by trickling the content of the barrels they held did not intend for the valley to stay that way.
[Goblin Lv.9 x56]
I turned to Jonah by my side.
He was already standing ready with his spear, awaiting my next order.
"Kill them!"
['Ashta (★★)' has returned to the Goddesses' embrace! Her fighting spirit will be remembered forever.]
[Party 3 has been annihilated!]
