Chapter 16 - Chapter 16

Silence reigned between Byleth and me after I blurted out the thoughts that were running through my mind.

I did my best, absolute best, to prevent any signs of embarrassment from showing on my face. I kept my face completely still, as if it were a rock.

Byleth just stared at me blankly, tilting her head at my words, as if she'd never heard something like that before. "... I mean... If you want, I can try."

She agreed!?

"Ah... Please pay no mind to what I said, it was just a joke," I lifted my hand and waved her off.

It was not a joke. I really wanted her to do that, but I wasn't going to risk something bad happening later.

"Ahem... Anyway, you're here for some weapons and vulnerary, correct? I don't sell Vulnerary here, but instead potions that can restore stamina, magic, and your health. Currently, the amount recovered can go as high as half of your total."

"Oh... Those work fine too," she nodded.

I cleared my throat. "Good! Ah, and I should introduce myself. I am Lynx Tiberius, the owner of the Shop Unlimited. Your mystical shop for all your otherworldly needs."

"Otherworldly?" She tilted her head to the side.

I briefly explained to Byleth about how the shop was connected to other worlds and even demonstrated it by opening up the door to reveal the world of Shokugeki no Soma.

"Oh... Okay," she nodded. "Anyway, I need weapons..."

... This girl really had a one track mind, huh? A quick calculation in my mind told me that 1 Gold in this world was equal to 1 Gold with the system. Easy conversion rate.

"Tell me what you need, and I'll arrange it," I told her, moving back behind the desk.

In the end, she bought a total of 5 Iron Swords, 4 Iron Spears, 5 Bows, 10 quivers of arrows, 3 axes, and 2 pairs of gauntlets. She didn't bother buying the potions, deciding she'd just buy vulnerary from other vendors.

"That will be a total of 4,350 Gold," I told her. "As a bulk purchase, I also knock off 10%. So, that's 3,915 Gold."

Byleth nodded and set the bag she was carrying on the ground, pulling out 5 bags- 4 of them full, one empty. She precisely poured gold from one back into the fifth and then handed them over to me.

You have obtained 3,915 Gold!

I smiled, pleased. "We also offer another sort of service," I told her. "One I think you'll find very useful."

Byleth tilted her head. "And that is?"

"It is known as the System," I told her. "Not only does it give you access to a hammer space magic so you can carry around heavy loads with no problem... But... It also provides you a status panel, showing you your abilities in written form, and even showing you the progress of your growth so you can see how much stronger you are getting. Of course, such a thing isn't cheap. It's 5000 Gold per person."

Byleth blink and lifted a hand to her chin, seeming to seriously consider it.

I used the chance to analyse her.

Byleth Eisner

Race: Divine Human

Job: Cook Level 12, Merchant Level 10, Teacher Level 13

Class: Myrmidon Level 21, Priest Level 2, Chronomancer Level 10

I immediately noticed several things on Byleth's status panel.

The first was the fact her Job was Cook instead of Chef. They should be the same thing, but Cook instead... Perhaps Cook was a more simplified version of Chef? I couldn't be sure.

The second was she had the Priest Class... That wasn't one of my options on the Mage Classes when I Checked, which led me to a conclusion- there were more hidden classes that hadn't showed up on the panel because I didn't fulfil the conditions.

Another thing that caught my eye was that she had the Myrmidon Class... A Class from Three Houses. Obtained by having a D-Rank or high in Swordsmanship and being Level 5 or higher... Not the swordsman class... It seemed there were more class options than I believed.

The last thing I put my attention on was her race, Divine Human. This was likely the result of having Sothis's crest stone- her heart- embedded against her own heart...

If Byleth obtained the system, there was no doubt she'd have many questions given I was sure things like 'Sothis's Vessel' would definitely appear on her status panel and reveal her divine nature.

"Of course, there are also other services that I can offer," I told her. "Do you see the two doors on either side of the shop?"

Byleth cast her gaze over to them. "... One says 'Dungeon' and the other says 'training room.'"

I smiled. "Precisely," I nodded. "The Dungeon is an artificial space that creates creatures depending on the instance you choose. You can then fight those creatures to obtain experience and become stronger. If, at any point, you feel you might be in mortal danger, you can say the word 'Return' or simply desire to leave the Dungeon in order to return. This allows you to obtain real combat experience in a more controlled environment."

Byleth's eyes, emotionless, finally began to light up with the sparks of intrigue. "Is that so...?" She looked to the door, already pondering on bringing her students here... If they could get stronger in a controlled environment, then during the monthly missions given out by the church they would be far more prepared and less likely to freeze up when fighting enemies.

"Of course, the other gem of the shop is the training room," I gestured to the other door. "It costs 50 Gold per person per hour to use," I told her. "But in exchange for that, while you are training in that room... All your training efforts are doubled."

Her entire body stiffened momentarily at that. "... Did you say... Doubled?"

"That's right," I nodded. "Something that might take you a month to learn will only take fifteen days. Something that may take a year? Half that time..."

For someone who was a teacher like Byleth, how could she possibly turn down something so useful?

"Of course, I understand 50 Gold might still be a lot in some cases," I told her. "So, for every 5 people you bring in to train at once, I'll lower the price down by 10 Gold per person, to a minimum of 10 Gold per person per hour."

I could see that Byleth's mind was already racing... If she brought 20 People in, including herself, that would lower the price down to 200 Gold an hour for everyone.

"I'll remember this," Byleth nodded. "The weapons, please."

I got up and moved out from behind the counter. "Already in my inventory. I'll bring them to the place you want me to drop them off, is that fine?"

Byleth considered it before she nodded and turned to open the door.

I was disappointed her robes hid the view of her immaculate ass from my eye...

I shook my head and got up, quickly following behind her and stepping out into the world of Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Into the stronghold of the Church of Seiros.

The monastery was a beautiful place, that was undeniable. It was tall, radiant, beautiful... As expected of Rhea, she had built up this place as a true temple of worship to her mother. In truth, this place wasn't a church. It was meant to be a palace- a place where Sothis would have all of her needs attended once she finally descended inside of a new body.

'Honestly, Seiros is one crazy bitch,' I chuckled in amusement.

I did notice, however, that the monastery was far larger than it was how in the games- maybe even double the size. I noticed the flags of the three houses plastered on various buildings, as if saying that those places belonged to those houses rather than being open to everyone.

Were the houses a new attempt at a 'system' by Seiros? Perhaps she herself realised that relying solely on crests wasn't enough, and instead she'd set up the three houses to act as a sort of 'faction' system within her new plans.

As we walked through the monastery, I heard a voice call out, "Teacher Byleth."

Byleth and I both turned and, for the second time that day, I felt my heart skip a beat.

Clad in the monastery's uniform, wearing a pair of shorts with red leggings beneath. Her curvy figure, unlike Byleth's, was clear to see as the clothes clung to her absolutely stunning figure. Her white hair was long and stunning, with her bangs parted to reveal her forehead with two grey ribbons tied up on either side of her head.

Edelgard von Hresvelg. The Princess of the Adrestrian Empire.

I took the moment to use Analyse on her.

Edelgard von Hresvelg

Race: Modified Human

Job: Merchant Level 21, Cook Level 4

Class: Fighter Level 12, Mage Level 2

Modified Human... Likely due to the experiments conducted on her when she was young that resulted in her current appearance.

She also had access to the Fighter Subclass... I recalled that was a 'Beginner' Class in Three Houses that you could obtain by having D-Rank or higher skill in Axe, Bow, or Brawling. As expected, given Edelgard's main weapon was an axe.

But Mage, however... That was very interesting... Edelgard wasn't naturally a magic user; it was only once you as the player began to nurture her ability in Magic that Edelgard was capable of wielding spells...

I cast my eye over at Byleth as Edelgard finished her approach...

Had she already realised Edelgard's talent in magic and had started to nurture it?

"Ah, Edelgard," Byleth nodded. "Is something the matter?"

"I was just coming to you with concerns about our equipment," she explained. "Caspar has been complaining about it for quite some time about how he needs a new axe."

"Already done," Byleth nodded and gestured to me. "This is Lynx, he's the one providing weapons and is just coming to drop them off."

"Oh, that's good to hear," she smiled and turned to me. "A pleasure to meet you. I am Edelgard von Hresvelg, I lead the Black Eagles house."

"Lovely to meet such a beautiful woman," I smiled at her and meant it. "I'm Lynx Tiberius, from Draconic Deus."

"Draconic Deus?" She questioned, tilting her head lightly. "Forgive me, I've never heard of such a place."

"I would be surprised if you had," I chuckled softly. "I'm from another world, completely different to this one- where gods, angels, and devils all roam the Earth in secret."

Edelgard raised an eye, clearly amused and looked at Byleth. "Is he one of those types, likes to pretend?"

"No, he's telling the truth," Byleth told Edelgard. "He showed me proof."

Edelgard remained silent for a moment as she processed that, no doubt surprised that Byleth had actually backed up my words rather than dismiss them or agree with Edelgard.

"Well now," she smiled. "That sounds fascinating. Might I have a chance to see this for myself?"

"Certainly," I nodded. "Let me drop off some weapons, and perhaps I'll even put an anchor down somewhere nearby to make it easier for you."

"An Anchor?" Edelgard asked as the three of us began to walk together.

"I'm the owner of a shop called Unlimited, that resides between dimensions," I told her. "My shop rests in the space between worlds. Because of the chaotic nature of the dimensions, my shop will randomly appear in other worlds, manifesting as a door. I'm able to place additional doors in the world to make it more convenient for others to come to my shop."

"I see, that's certainly very useful," she nodded and hummed. "So, what does your shop offer?"

I smiled slowly, explaining to her first about both the Dungeon and the Training Room.

"That's..." She swallowed. "A place to get experience in a more controlled environment is exceptional... On top of that... A place that can double your training efforts? That's..." She shook her head and looked at Byleth. "Teacher, if money is an issue, I'm more than willing to contribute. Such an opportunity could be golden for the Black Eagles to help us stay ahead of the other houses."

"Ah... I'll remember that," Byleth gave her a nod. Edelgard's money would be very helpful in letting them use the Training room very often.

"But," I smiled at Edelgard. "If you're talking about the real gem of my shop, then it has to be the System."

Edelgard's eyes turned to me, intrigue burning within them. "And what is this 'System,' Lynx?"

I just smiled. "Well, since I have a favourable impression of both you and Byleth... Here, you can both have it for free. Trust me... It won't disappoint you."

Before they could object, I lifted my arm towards them both.

"Bestow."

I had no intentions of letting either of them go. I would give them both a happy ending.
