Sunday, November 1st, 1994
Suddenly, something happened that caused much of the room to turn toward the entrance of the Great Hall. The large doors of the Great Hall opened. Lord Potter's eyes widened as a very familiar dog stepped into the room.
"Merlin's balls, what is he doing here?!" Lord Potter asked."I am going to kill that dog before his cousin ever gets a chance," Lady Potter growled.
Suddenly, the dog transformed into a man. A very ragged, dirty looking man, who had long, dirty black hair and a beard to match. His clothes were torn and dirty. And he was looking around the room with large eyes.
"I, SIRIUS ORION BLACK!" Sirius Black roared, "KIDNAPPING VICTIM IMPRISONED AT AZKABAN FOR TWELVE YEARS, INNOCENT OF THE CRIMES I WAS ACCUSED OF, CALL FOR SANCTUARY! SANCTUARY! SANCTUARY!"
The Great Hall exploded in screams and panic as many of the students reacted to the assumed criminal and escaped prisoner of Azkaban.
"SILENCE!" Albus Dumbledore roared, shooting several loud fireworks into the sky.
The Great Hall fell silent almost immediately.
Amelia Bones was already up, and halfway between the two middle rows between Sirius and the Head Table. She turned to the Headmaster.
"Albus, do you accept Sirius Black's plea for Sanctuary?" Amelia asked.
Albus hesitated for several moments, before he glanced over at Lord Potter. Lord Potter crossed his arms over his chest, and raised an eyebrow. Albus hesitated for another mere moment, before he nodded.
"I, Albus Dumbledore, Headmaster of Hogwarts," Albus said, "accept Sirius Black's plea for sanctuary."
"Bloody good," Amelia said, "Follow me, Black!"
"I want to speak to Harry Potter," Sirius said, "Both of them!"
Amelia turned to Lord Potter, who nodded. He then turned to Minerva.
"Professor McGonagall, as Mr. Potter and Miss Granger are your students, can you please be their chaperone for both of them?" Lord Potter asked, "We'll be heading back to my private Quarters with Madam Bones and Sirius. Yes, both of them. Madam Bones will want to speak to both of them regarding Sirius."
Minerva didn't even look at Albus to get his opinion of Lord Potter's request. She merely nodded. "Of course, Lord Potter."
"Now, wait a moment!" Ludo Bagman said, "Lord Potter, details must be explained to you about the Triwizard Tournament."
"First Task is on November 24th," Lord Potter said, "And the Weighing of the Wands? When does that take place?"
"Next Saturday," Bagman said, "You'll receive a message about the time of the meeting between now and then."
"Saturday?" Lord Potter asked, "It happened during the week last time. We were in the middle of Potions class."
"That was part of the story you told Albus and Minerva, remember?" Lady Potter replied, "Albus must have learned from your story and had it moved to a weekend. So to avoid any interruptions by Professors that would make Cedric – and Harry, if he had been chosen instead of you – late to the event."
"Good to know," Lord Potter said to Bagman, "Anything else?"
Bagman stammered and shook his head.
"Jolly good," Lord Potter said, "Let's go."
By this time, Minerva had collected Harry and Hermione, and Lady Potter joined her husband. They headed up in between the two middle tables toward Amelia, who was now standing next to Sirius. Aside from having given Sanctuary to Sirius, Albus was suspiciously silent during this entire time.
Suddenly, Ron Weasley stood up from the Gryffindor Table. "Now, wait just a minute!"
Lord Potter raised an eyebrow as he looked at Ron. "Yes, Mr. Weasley?"
"Maybe you don't remember, Lord Potter," Ron said, narrowing his eyes at the older version of his 'best mate', "But I was also there last June when we met Sirius in the Shrieking Shack. I assume you want Harry and Hermione to talk to Madam Bones about that? Shouldn't I be there then?"
It was Minerva who spoke up. "I believe Mr. Potter and Miss Granger will be able to tell the tale well enough to satisfy Madam Bones, Mr. Weasley. If your statement is needed in the future, I will let you know. Sit down, Mr. Weasley. If you continue to make a scene, you will receive detention and a loss of points!"
Ron glared at Minerva, then at Lord and Lady Potter, and sat back down. Lord Potter and his wife then followed Minerva, Harry and Hermione out of the Great Hall. Sirius and Amelia were already in the Entrance Hall. Sirius was talking to Amelia when they arrived.
"I'm not saying another word until we're all in private, Bones!" Sirius growled, "There are some people in that Hall that I don't trust, and I don't want any eavesdroppers to hear us! And that includes portraits, house elves and whatever else Dumbledore keeps for a spy system around here!"
"I understand, Black," Amelia said, calmly, "I won't ask any questions until we're somewhere private."
"We can use our Private Quarters, Madam Bones," Lord Potter said, "It is where I was going to suggest we go for our meeting anyway."
"Sounds good to me," Amelia said.
Sirius' eyes widened as he looked at Lord Potter. "J-James?"
"Not quite, Sirius," Lord Potter said, smiling.
Sirius looked at Lord Potter, then to the younger Harry, then back at Lord Potter.
"Harry, of course you're Harry," Sirius said, "A bit older, but still Harry. Sorry, I keep finding myself calling you James."
Lord Potter raised an eyebrow. "When was the last time you called me 'James'?"
Sirius shook his head. "No more questions, not until we're in private!"
"I suggest we get moving then," Minerva said.
With Minerva, Harry, and Hermione leading, Sirius and Amelia behind them, and Lord and Lady Potter in tow, the group headed up the Grand Staircase.
"Hermione?" Lord Potter asked his wife as they headed up the Staircase, "Did Sirius ever call me James when we met him in the Shrieking Shack?"
"I don't think so," Lady Potter said, "He said you look like James. But he didn't start mistaking you for James, until he was getting affected from living at Grimmauld Place for so long."
"He says he kept calling me 'James'," Lord Potter said, "Doesn't that sound strange to you? It almost sounds like…"
"What?" Lady Potter asked, "Like he time-traveled too? You mean when he fell through the Veil of Death? I suppose it's possible… I mean, we fell through time too."
"That can't be, though!" Lord Potter said, "He appeared when I activated the Resurrection Stone!"
"Harry," Lady Potter said, "You know I've already told you before that I thought the Resurrection Stone might have caused you to hallucinate Sirius, Remus and your parents. Sirius might have actually time-traveled after he fell through the Veil. Nobody really knows what the Veil of Death does, Harry. The Unspeakables didn't even put it there, you know! The first Unspeakables found it, and built the Department of Mysteries around it. The Ministry of Magic was built around the Department of Mysteries. It is why the Ministry is underground."Lord Potter nodded. He had heard about that before, probably from his wife the first time too.
"Maybe you're right," Lord Potter conceded, "I wonder how long he's been here, if he traveled back in time."
"Whatever his means of time-travel was, if that is what happened," Lady Potter said, "It put him inside his past body, unlike the two of us. He looks exactly like he did when we saw him around this time. Just as dirty, just as thin – his clothes are the same."
"Right," Lord Potter agreed. "And just as smelly! He definitely needs a shower.""We can cast some Cleaning Charms and Air Freshening Charms on him when we get to the Private Quarters," Lady Potter said, "Unless Minerva or Amelia beat us to it."Twenty minutes later, the group was inside the Private Quarters.
"My memory must still be affected," Sirius muttered, "I remember these Quarters looking a hell of a lot different when James was Head Boy."
"The room can change at the user's desire, Mr. Black," Minerva said. "In fact, I believe there is an additional couch here in the Sitting Room to allow the fact that there are more guests here."
"Ah, that explains that," Sirius said, nodding.
"Black, do you give me permission to cast some Cleaning and Air Freshening Charms on you?" Amelia asked.
Sirius blushed, looking very uncomfortable. "Yes, I forgot how filthy and smelly I was. You may, Bones."
Amelia cast the Charms, and while Sirius' clothes still looked filthy, he looked and smelled a bit cleaner.
"Well, let's sit down, shall we?" Amelia said, "I believe you wish to speak first, Black?"
"Er… yes, please," Sirius said.
Sirius, Amelia and Minerva sat down in the three chairs, while Lord and Lady Potter took one couch, and Harry and Hermione took the other.
"Can I trust you, Minerva?" Sirius asked, "You're not going to go straight to Dumbledore and tell him everything I'm going to tell you all after we're finished here, right?"
"I promise to say nothing about what is said or happens in this room, Sirius," Minerva said..
Sirius nodded, then eyed Leon's portrait. "And the portrait?"
Sirius frowned as he looked around the room. "What about Eavesdropping Charms? There's not an invisible house-elf somewhere in here spying on us for Dumbledore, is there?"
"The portrait is not part of Albus' so-called spy system," Minerva assured, "This, and the portrait outside in the corridor are Leon's only portrait. Also, the only staff member Leon reports to is me, as the Head of Gryffindor. And I assure you, there are no Eavesdropping Charms or invisible House-Elves. Leon would tell me if there was."
Sirius stared at Minerva, then looked at Leon, who nodded.
"Nobody will be dropping eaves on any conversations inside this room while I'm here to guard it, Mr. Black!" Leon said, from atop his Lion.
"Fine," Sirius said, then cleared his throat. "Harry – I mean, sorry, I suppose I should call you older two, Lord and Lady Potter, right? – you're not the only time-travelers here. I traveled through time too."
Minerva and the younger Harry and Hermione gasped, while Amelia just raised her eyebrows, as she stared at Sirius. As for Lord and Lady Potter, they simply nodded – it just confirmed what they had been discussing earlier.
"The Veil of Death," Lord Potter said.
"Aye," Sirius nodded. "After I fell through it, after fighting my damned cousin, I blacked out and woke up in that cave outside Hogsmeade. I'm sure you remember which one. Apparently it was the night of Halloween when I arrived. So, well – last night, I suppose. But I didn't have a chance to use Tempus or anything at the time because I blacked out again and didn't wake up until early this morning."
"So you might have arrived back in time, at the same time we did?" Lady Potter asked.
"Can't say," Sirius said, shrugging, "Don't know what time either of us arrived, but I wouldn't be surprised by such a coincidence. Magic's always causing odd or ironic coincidences like that."
"Hold on a minute," Amelia said, "Are you talking about the Veil of Death, in the Department of Mysteries? What do you mean you fell through it, Black?!"
"June of 1996," Lord Potter said, "There was a battle between Death Eaters and the Order of the Phoenix. Most of the battle happened inside the Chamber of Death. Everyone thought Sirius was killed that night, when he went through the Veil."
"You sound as if you were there, Lord Potter," Amelia asked, raising an eyebrow.
"He was," Lady Potter said, "So was I. We –"
Lord Potter glanced at Harry and Hermione who were watching the conversation curiously, but also emotionally, obviously realizing that their older selves thought that Sirius had been killed at one point in their lives.
"We can talk about that later," Lord Potter continued.
Amelia noticed the emotions on the face of the younger teens. "Of course."
"Well, anyway," Sirius said, "I woke up this morning, and well, it took me a few minutes to realize where I was. I mean, I hadn't visited that cave in over a year from my point-of-view. And then I realized I was back in this dirty outfit that I remembered burning a year ago, in my time. I realized I had fallen through the Veil of Death, and after I realized that – well, I wasn't dead – I recalled the other theories about what that damned Veil might do. Time Travel was the obvious conclusion, as mad as it sounded. Though I wasn't exactly sure of my theory, until I went to Hogsmeade in my Animagus form.
"One of the early-morning visitors of Hogsmeade discarded a Daily Prophet in the bin, so I propped my front legs of my Animagus form on the trash can, and looked at the date of the newspaper. It said 'November 1st, 1994', which basically confirmed my theory of time-travel. Of course, when I realized the date, I remembered what had happened on Halloween in 1994. Harry's name came out of the Goblet of Fire. However, the date was the only interesting thing on the front page of the newspaper. There was no news about the Triwizard Tournament, or a mysterious Fourth Champion. Nothing!"
"I believe the Daily Prophet is gearing up for a big edition," Amelia said, "Since it will have news of, not only the Triwizard Tournament, but also Lord and Lady Potter's mysterious arrival. They're also waiting for news of who the Fourth Champion is, and that only happened a few minutes ago. If there's not a special edition of the newspaper out tomorrow about the news, it will likely be out the following day."
"Or they may be waiting for the Weighing of the Wands," Lord Potter said, "So they can interview the Champions."
"Not the Daily Prophet," Amelia said, "They'll want the Weighing of the Wands and the interviews in a separate edition. They can make more money that way."
"Anyway," Sirius said, sounding a little annoyed at his story being interrupted, "this morning, when I didn't see that news in the Daily Prophet, I was confused, and eager to know what was going on. So I walked around the village in my Animagus form, eager to listen to the gossip. Maybe someone in the village had already heard that my godson was the Fourth Champion in the Triwizard Tournament. I figured it'd be big news by then. I went to the Hog's Head, thinking I'd hear some good gossip there. Aberforth is Albus' brother, after all. I was sure he'd heard the news of what happened on Halloween from his brother, or someone else in the castle. Well, that was when I heard Rubeus Hagrid, who was visiting the Hog's Head for an early morning drink or something. And what I heard shocked me."
"Hagrid never was good at keeping secrets," Minerva muttered, "I trust he was gossiping to Aberforth, and whoever else was there to hear that Hogwarts had a couple of time-traveling visitors last night?"
"Indeed," Sirius said, "And Hagrid swore right, left and middle that the two visitors were the future versions of Harry Potter and Hermione Granger! Only he called them 'Lord Harry Potter, and his wife, Lady Hermione Potter!' He also said that Harry's name came out of the Goblet of Fire, but that no decision had been made on whether Harry was the Fourth Champion or not. He said it would happen tonight. So I went back to my cave, and when it neared nightfall, I made my way up here."
"And how did you get inside the castle?" Amelia asked.
"Honeydukes or the Shrieking Shack?" Lord Potter asked, with a smirk.
"Honeydukes, through the passage of the One-Eyed Witch," Sirius said, grinning, "Longer journey, but I got here with no problems."
"You just missed me becoming the Fourth Champion again," Lord Potter said.
"Good," Sirius said, then looked at his younger godson, "At least he won't have to go through that rubbish again. I forgot! Hagrid also said something about Barty Crouch, Junior and his father being arrested last night?"
"That is true," Amelia said, "Arrested them myself."
"Good," Sirius repeated, "That was one of the reasons I wanted to come here, other than to see my godson – well, godsons – and ask for Sanctuary. I wanted to make sure Barty, Junior was caught. You know, Bones, you weren't here the last go around? Albus didn't invite you to the castle. You weren't here for any of the Tasks, either. Or to investigate who put my godson in the Tournament."
"He's right," Lord Potter said, "Junior wasn't revealed until his plot was successful. I was kidnapped, and barely survived that night. Then when I came back, he took me back here to the castle, and could have killed me, had Albus not interfered."
"Albus allowed him to be with you alone?!" Minerva demanded.
"No, he didn't," Lord Potter said, "That was how he claimed that he discovered that Moody wasn't Junior. Which was a complete lie. Albus knew Moody was being impersonated right from the start."
"What?!" Minerva, Harry and Hermione asked.
"Are you sure about that?!" Amelia asked.
"Yes, he told me," Lord Potter said, "Well, his portrait confessed it – along with a number of other things. All sorts of things that he had kept hidden until his death, but not afterward."
"Of course it wasn't until after Voldemort was defeated that Albus' portrait told us any of that," Lady Potter said.
"Yes, Voldemort," Amelia said, "That is something I'd like to talk to you about, Lord and Lady Potter."
"Of course, Director," Lord Potter said, "But first, I'm sure you'd like to confirm that Sirius is, in fact, an innocent man?"
"I know he's an innocent man, Lord Potter," Amelia said, "Innocent of at least some of his crimes. Junior confirmed that Peter Pettigrew is alive."
"That may be," Lady Potter said, "But unless you capture Pettigrew, that might not hold up in front of the Wizengamot. Why do you think my husband wanted Harry and Hermione to come with us? They have a story to tell you."
"You mean – last June in the Shrieking Shack?" Hermione asked.
"Yes, dear," Lady Potter said, "You can finally get the chance to tell your story that you should have been able to tell Cornelius Fudge."
"The Minister of Magic?!" Amelia asked, "What does he have to do with this?!"
"Patience, Director," Lady Potter said.
Amelia sighed, then turned to Harry and Hermione. The two younger teens – with some help from Sirius – described the night they met Sirius in the Shrieking Shack. They stopped before they discussed their little time-traveling adventure, but did discuss what happened with Cornelius Fudge and Snape.
Amelia was rubbing wrinkles from her prematurely aged forehead. "I don't know where to even start. So Severus Snape claimed the two of you and Ronald Weasley were Confundused, by Sirius, and Fudge believed him. I am going to have a word with that man!"
"Which one?" Sirius asked, "Snape or Fudge?"
"Both of them," Amelia snarled. "I will be speaking to Snape before I leave tonight. And Fudge when I see him again! He didn't even say a word to me about any of this! I should have been told you were at Hogwarts, Black!"
"Isn't it obvious why he didn't tell you, Bones?" Sirius asked, "Given how close you and I used to be? He didn't want you to know, because you'd do everything you could to do what he didn't want you to do – make me a free man! To finally get me a trial I was never given!"
"I don't understand!" Amelia growled, "Fudge had nothing to do with you being sent to Azkaban!"
"No, but he kept me there, didn't he?" Sirius asked, "Never gave me a trial, did he? Well, you don't need to really blame him, Amelia. It is Lucius Malfoy you have to blame. He made sure Fudge kept me in Azkaban. If I died in Azkaban, he thought his son would become Lord Black. He didn't know I made sure years ago that Harry would get that title upon my death, through my Great Aunt, Dorea Black, Harry's grandmother."
"Albus Dumbledore is also to blame," Lord Potter said, "He, Bartemius Crouch, Senior, and Minister Bagnold placed you in Azkaban without a trial. And Albus never gave you a trial after you escaped. Don't you find it funny, Sirius, and I am also speaking to you, Harry and Hermione. When we helped you escape Hogwarts, Sirius, you were still a fugitive. Instead of claiming Sanctuary, like you could have done last June, you were a fugitive. And Albus did nothing about that…"
"But make sure that I remained a fugitive," Sirius said, "Because if I gained my freedom –"
"Albus would lose all control he had over me, since you would become my Magical Guardian," Lord Potter said, "Exactly."
Hermione gasped. "Why did that never occur to me until now?! I should have realized that. Professor Dumbledore was so quick to suggest that we help Sirius escape. He told us to help you, Sirius, and then said goodbye without another word. He could have helped you, but no, he told Harry and I to do it!"
"Because he didn't want to come face-to-face with Sirius," Minerva said, looking quite disheartened, "Because if he did, Sirius would have asked him for Sanctuary."
"Albus would have either had to accept my plea for Sanctuary," Sirius said, "Put some kind of mind-magic on me to make sure I'd never ask for Sanctuary, or kill me. Why do you think I made such a public plea for Sanctuary tonight? Because I didn't want to give him that kind of chance! He accepted my plea for Sanctuary, because he had so many witnesses. He couldn't be seen denying me such a thing, when he is supposed to be this wonderful 'Leader of the Light' who loves giving people second chances, now can he?"
Lord Potter, meanwhile, was looking at Amelia, who had her eyes narrowed.
"I know what you're thinking, Director," Lord Potter said, "I would advise you not to confront Albus Dumbledore tonight. You need more evidence, and make sure it is solid, before you do anything to him. We can give you that evidence tonight, but even then –"
"I can't arrest Albus tonight," Amelia said, "Not before I am well-prepared for the aftermath."
"Exactly," Lord Potter said.
Amelia nodded, and turned to Sirius. "Well, Black, since you claimed Sanctuary, I can't do anything concerning you right now, when it comes to my job as Director. Not here, anyway. I can bring the evidence of your alleged innocence to the Ministry. But you'll have to remain under the rite of Sanctuary until I can get you that trial."
"I understand," Sirius said.
"He can stay in the Private Quarters with us," Lord Potter said, "But we're going to need a fourth room."
"I can make a fourth bedroom, Lord Potter," Leon said.
"Hold on a moment, Leon, that might be unnecessary," Minerva said, then turned to Lord Potter, "Why can't your godfather have Harry's room? I thought Harry and Hermione would be returning to Gryffindor Tower tonight."
"Yeah, about that," Lord Potter said, "Lady Potter and I need to speak to you in private about that."
"Very well," Minerva said.
"Sirius," Lord Potter said, "You can catch up with Harry and Hermione, and us, later. How about you get cleaned up? Leon will provide you with clean clothes."
"They will be ready for you in the bathroom, Mr. Black," Leon said.
"A wonderful idea," Sirius said, "Thank you, Leon."
He stood and looked at Harry. "I'll talk to you when I'm finished with my shower, kid."
Harry smiled and nodded. Sirius turned and headed toward the bathroom when it was pointed out to him.
"Director," Lord Potter said, "My wife and I will continue our discussion with you after we speak to Minerva."
"Take your time," Amelia said, "I'm going to get some final statements from Mr. Potter and Miss Granger, and get copies of their memories of last June. Do I have permission to talk to your students without you being here to chaperone, Minerva?"
"You do, Director," Minerva said.
Lord and Lady Potter stood up, then Minerva did. The couple led their former Professor into their own bedroom.
"Oh, my!" Minerva said, "Am I correct to say that this is a replica of the Master Bedroom of Potter Manor?"
"It is," Lady Potter said, as Lord Potter shut the bedroom door behind them, "And how exactly do you know that, Minerva?"
Minerva blushed. "I had my fair share of visits to Potter Manor, when Harry's father and grandparents were residents there. I can assure you, nothing salacious happened concerning me inside that bedroom."
Lady Potter blushed too. "My apologies, Minerva."
"Unnecessary, I suppose my comment might have caused such a reaction," Minerva said, "Now, what is this about that concerns Mr. Potter and Miss Granger?"
"My husband and I are not just married, Minerva," Lady Potter said, "We're Bonded. Connected by a Soul-Bond."
"Oh my!" Minerva exclaimed, "I would have never expected such a thing!"
"Indeed," Lady Potter said, "Hermione knows about the Soul-Bond, but Harry doesn't. I told her about it last night, because I thought she was ready to hear it. Also she needed to be warned about what would happen after she and Harry kissed, whenever that takes place."
"And you have reason to believe your… younger selves might become Bonded soon?" Minerva asked.
"Harry has plans to ask Hermione to the Yule Ball," Lord Potter said, "I don't know if they'll kiss after he asks her to the Ball, or at the Ball. But it will likely happen before the end of the calendar year. It depends on whether or not they become a couple before or at the Ball."
"And when they're Bonded," Lady Potter said, "It would be better if they were here in the Private Quarters for the early stages of the Bond. I already made Hermione promise that she wouldn't have sex with Harry anytime soon. But they will need to sleep beside each other in bed sometimes to strengthen their Bond. We can place Charms on them at night that will not allow them to take off their sleepwear."
"Yes," Minerva said, "I believe I understand what you're saying. So you believe it is pointless for me to ask Mr. Potter and Miss Granger to return to Gryffindor Tower?"
"They can go back into Gryffindor Tower whenever they want," Lord Potter said, "We just don't think they should sleep in their dormitories for the foreseeable future. Because, by the end of the calendar year, it is quite likely they'll be sleeping here again."
"I think I can agree with that," Minerva said.
"And Minerva," Lord Potter said, staring at his former Professor, "I don't want Albus to know about their Soul-Bond before they are Bonded. I promise you – no matter what you might think of Albus – that he will try to prevent their Bond from forming if he knows about it."
Minerva sighed and nodded. "I promise, Lord Potter. I will not speak a word of this to Albus. At least until they're Bonded. But I need a reason to tell him why Mr. Potter and Miss Granger will continue to reside here in your Quarters."
"Continued security to prevent the students from interrogating them about anything we discuss with them about the future," Lady Potter suggested. "I am sure Albus wouldn't want such information to get out to the public before he can control it. He's probably quite upset that we're being very cautious with revealing information about the future at the current moment."
"He'll probably also be pretty unhappy," Lord Potter added, "If he realizes Hermione and I are giving more information to our younger selves, and Madam Bones, before we give it to him."
Minerva gave a world-weary sigh. "You're likely right about that. Yes… I think I can sell that to Albus."
"You're invited to remain with us when we speak to Amelia, Minerva," Lady Potter said, "There are things we're going to tell her that you need to know about. Mostly concerning Ron and Ginny Weasley. We don't want them anywhere near our younger selves, ma'am. You'll agree by the time we're done with our explanation."
"In fact," Lord Potter said, "By the time we're done explaining everything to Amelia, Ron and Ginny might not remain in the castle for too many more days."
"I'm not going to ask," Minerva muttered, "But only because I know any questions I might ask will likely be answered soon."
"Then I believe we're finished here," Lord Potter said, "Let's return to Amelia."
Lord Potter led his wife and Minerva back out of the bedroom.
"Mr. Potter, Miss Granger," Minerva said, "For the foreseeable future, you may call these Quarters your residence if that is what you wish. You don't need to return to your dormitories, but you may feel free to spend time in the Gryffindor Common Room whenever you wish."
"Thank you, Professor," Hermione said, and Harry echoed her.
"Are you finished with the Director, you two?" Lord Potter asked; Harry and Hermione nodded, "Then I must ask you to sit at the dining table if you wish to remain out here and wait for Sirius. My wife and I need to speak to Director Bones and Professor McGonagall in private."
"I'm finished with them," Amelia said, "Thank you, Mr. Potter, Miss Granger. I promise that everything you told me tonight will help Sirius."
"Thank you, ma'am," Harry said, and Hermione echoed him.
The younger teens stood up and walked over to the dining table and sat down.
"We're going to use privacy charms so you can't hear us," Lord Potter told the younger teens.
Harry and Hermione nodded again. Lord Potter followed his wife and Minerva over to the Sitting Room. Lord Potter then cast Muffliato and other Charms around the Sitting Room, and a visible dome appeared that settled a few feet away from the dining table.
"Harry and Hermione can't hear anything we say," Lord Potter said, as he sat back down on the couch with his wife.
"Alright then," Amelia said, "I have a few questions for you, Lord and Lady Potter. But I think I'll let you begin."
