In the new town established by Kael and his subordinates, everyone was on alert and ready to fight and defend their new home.
Only one individual was relaxing on a wooden log. Her posture was languid, but her eyes were drawn to something distant. It seemed as if she was seeing something out of this world.
Kiona turned to look at Rias and asked, "How is he?"
"Safe and sound," Rias replied. "But what he is doing to himself is pretty reckless. One mistake and he would end up dead."
Kiona bit her lips and turned to look to the west. She hated being so powerless that she needed to stay here, hidden away from the real danger while her loved one was risking his life for her somewhere else.
All because she was too weak.
This sense of being so helpless was familiar to her. She still remembered how her father had sent her outside the Tribe while he fought to protect them.
It was also because she was too weak to help him. She didn't have the power to stand beside him.
