Chapter 365 - Rayquaza's Incubation Condition?

Two days later... within the Digital World.

After capturing the Four-Colored Rock that day, Akira continued exploring this unexpectedly enormous crater.

Over these two days, he encountered several new creatures, all of which gave off a distinctly peculiar vibe.

Finally, through the research of Meowth and Porygon-Z, a major conclusion was reached.

Many lifeforms here were born from mutations caused by contact with a certain substance.

This substance affected objects at their deepest levels, fundamentally transforming them into something entirely different.

Currently, Meowth was attempting to extract this substance for easier study.

After analyzing and compiling this information, Akira arrived at a bold hypothesis.

Though somewhat bizarre and hard to accept, Akira still believed this might be the truth.

This massive crater was likely formed by the impact of a meteorite or some other extraterrestrial object! The eerie figure in the memory of the Four-Colored Rock might have been an alien from an unknown place.

The star creatures here, even the four-colored rocks, are somehow connected to these extraterrestrials.

Just moments ago, he had discovered a peculiar ore on the exposed ground.

He handed it to Porygon-Z for material analysis.

All that was needed was to determine how similar the composition of this ore was to the surrounding soil and metals.

"Ding!"

"Pokémon incubation complete!"

While Akira waited for the results, the new incubation bar unexpectedly reached completion first.

Akira immediately focused his mind, eager to see if this Pokémon matched his expectations.

Originally, he had thought this Pokémon might be related to the stars.

But after encountering the four-colored rocks, another figure had emerged in his mind.

Sure enough, when Akira clearly saw that highly distinctive silhouette, his face lit up with joy.

The new Pokémon was none other than the mythical Pokémon with its own dedicated movie and substantial screen presence—

Deoxys.

Deoxys is a bipedal Pokémon resembling an extraterrestrial being.

It possesses four forms, each emphasizing different abilities.

All four forms share common features: its body is primarily orange-red, with a blue-green face and three blue-green dots on its back.

A purple stripe runs across its face, and its chest has crystalline tracheae.

Its rectangular black eye sockets contain white circular eyes.

Deoxys is a Pokémon born when the DNA of a space virus attached to a meteorite mutated under laser irradiation.

As such, Deoxys is uniquely categorized in the Pokédex as the "DNA Pokémon."

It is said to appear near auroras.

Highly intelligent, it wields psychic powers, and the crystal on its chest appears to function as its brain.

It can fire lasers from this chest crystal, and auroras appear when it changes forms.

Deoxys' modes are also unique, with multiple forms.

In its Attack Forme, Deoxys can alter its shape to confuse opponents.

In its Defense Forme, it can absorb attacks by changing its cellular structure.

Its Speed Forme is streamlined for rapid movement.

It's essentially a supercharged version of the four-colored rocks.

After all, if Deoxys weren't powerful enough, it wouldn't be worthy of being Rayquaza's opponent.

As an extraterrestrial entity, Deoxys naturally falls under the jurisdiction of Rayquaza, the first-class guardian of the atmosphere.

The two are natural enemies, opposing forces.

Name: Deoxys

Ability: Pressure

Type: Psychic

Strength: SS

Moves: Psycho Boost, Cosmic Power, Recover, Psychic...

[Multi-Form Ability]: Deoxys has four forms in total.

These are the balanced Normal Forme, Attack Forme, Speed Forme, and Defense Forme.

Each form has a distinct appearance.

[Absolute Regeneration]: Deoxys has a unique body structure.

Even if severely injured, it can regenerate as long as a trace of its tissue remains.

...

Deoxys possesses two special abilities!

The first, needless to say, is its multi-form capability.

The second stems from its unique physiology, granting it astonishing regenerative powers.

Unless Deoxys is completely annihilated in an instant, it cannot be killed.

Like an endless virus, any destroyed part will rapidly regrow.

Combined with its high intelligence as an extraterrestrial lifeform, it becomes an incredibly formidable existence.

Obtaining Deoxys naturally satisfied Akira, but another Pokémon now occupied his thoughts.

The Sky High Pokémon—Rayquaza.

Rayquaza was undoubtedly far more powerful than Deoxys, even possessing the potential for Mega Evolution.

Deoxys was Rayquaza's old rival. Who knew if there'd be a chance for a Rayquaza incubation bar to appear later?

Perhaps…

Among the two new incubation bars, aside from the already emerged Deoxys, the other one might just be Rayquaza?

If that were truly the case,

his Hoenn trio would be complete.

And not just any Hoenn trio—an enhanced version.

Primal Groudon, Primal Kyogre, and Mega Rayquaza.

Akira couldn't even imagine what kind of enemy could withstand such a brutal combination.

Just as his thoughts swirled, Porygon-Z finished compiling the analysis report on the ore.

The data indicated that this strangely shaped ore, shimmering with iridescent hues, was highly anomalous.

Its composition bore minimal resemblance to the surrounding soil and minerals.

This meant— it did not belong to this land!

This conclusion indirectly confirmed Akira's suspicions.

Within the massive crater, the low elevation, combined with the obstructing mist, left the surroundings dim and poorly lit.

Most of the illumination came from the "starry sky" above.

Needless to say, this "starry sky" was likely also connected to the unknown extraterrestrial object.

Though he couldn't be 100% certain yet, Akira strongly suspected that all of this was caused by the alien artifact.

Still, the sheer scale of this place was staggering. Scanning the area, he could barely make out anything.

Wait…

No, there were quite a few things.

Akira's eyes flickered as eerie figures emerged in the distance.

What made them unsettling was their varied forms—some bestial, others humanoid.

But the commonality was that their bodies were encased in massive peapods, clinging to them like clothing.

They swayed unsteadily, seemingly confined to wandering within that patch of land.

At first glance, there were about a dozen. Who knew how many more lurked deeper in?

[Podbearers]: Organisms formed after being devoured by Dark Peapods. Possess diverse abilities and actively hunt living creatures.

[Dark Peapod]: A specially mutated plant. Externally, it resembles a large black peapod, with smooth peas growing inside.

The peas are inedible but serve another purpose.

Upon capturing biological cells, the peas can incubate entirely new lifeforms within.

If left undisturbed, the Life Peas will generate a new body by fusing the captured cells.

Then, they will implant their own consciousness, creating an advanced new lifeform.

During incubation, the growth process and lifeform editing can be controlled at will.

If terminated artificially before the pea develops consciousness, a soulless, thoughtless new body can be obtained.

Each [Dark Peapod] has limited uses, but the peas inside can cultivate more peapods.

...

Bizarre things.

Akira silently mused.

For some reason, these so-called [Dark Peapods] gave him a vibe similar to the Chimera Ant Queen.

They shared a certain commonality.

That is—breeding monsters. However, the Ant Queen's ability was much more straightforward—simply put, it was eating.

By consuming different organisms, she could cultivate even more formidable Chimera Ants based on the quality of their genes.

This was the terrifying power of the Chimera Ant Queen.

After devouring numerous humans, she bred a vast number of humanoid Chimera Ants, culminating in the birth of the final Ant King.

But this [Dark Peapod] was different.

It belonged to the plant type. After capturing a creature, the peas inside could decompose and devour it.

The creature's genes would also remain within the peas, allowing for the cultivation of even more powerful organisms.

However, it seemed that any creatures bred this way would inevitably take on that grotesque appearance?

Akira glanced at the [Pod-Wearers] wandering around like zombies, their bodies fused with peapods.

Something felt off.

He thought there might be a way to do better.

Perhaps the deeper he went, the closer he got to the [Dark Peapod]'s true form, the more refined "products" he would encounter.

Or even...

Artificially created ones.

Lost in thought, Akira stood silently, a sudden idea flashing through his mind.

In an instant, more than a dozen [Pod-Wearers] not far away lost their footing and plummeted into the Digital World.

Creatures like these naturally had to be collected for thorough study.

Porygon-Z's spatial conduits were incredibly useful—as long as the target wasn't anchored to the ground, they could be relocated this way.

And once inside the Digital World, they were completely at his mercy.

...

At the heart of the massive crater,

There was an area resembling a human city, inexplicably housing a settlement.

But the style here was vastly different from the human world, exuding an eerie, high-tech aesthetic.

The buildings were made of silver and blue materials, sleek and sophisticated in appearance.

Their structures were bizarre—some twisted and contorted like a person playing with a hula hoop,

While others were more conventional, resembling the skyscrapers of the human world...

Here, there were even airborne vehicles flying about, their shapes somewhat reminiscent of UFOs.

Inside a hidden building,

Numerous high-tech machines of varying sizes filled the space, but among them stood something that seemed entirely out of place.

A massive peapod, five to six meters tall, its skin unnaturally thick.

Inside, several pitch-black peas gleamed faintly with an inner light.

Beep beep beep—

As Akira's idea took effect and the dozen or so [Pod-Wearers] vanished, a computer-like machine suddenly blared an alarm.

The loud alert didn't escape the room, a testament to the building's soundproofing.

Seeing this, several bizarre-looking creatures approached the machine, their expressions turning grave.

Those defective specimens had been deliberately discarded outside as a means of recycling waste—

Effectively adding an extra layer of defense around the city.

Yet now, they had mysteriously disappeared in bulk.

They knew exactly what this meant.

Some creature had eliminated over a dozen [Pod-Wearers] in an instant.

The leader of the group spoke:

"Execute the prepared plan. Send the reconnaissance team to investigate."

"We can't afford carelessness. Every detail must be accounted for."

"We've already suffered once. We can't let it happen again."
