Rudra looked in the direction of the sound and saw two eyes glaring at him.
He couldn't see the figure clearly because there was too much darkness in the cave. The two eyes kept getting closer to him. Rudra leaned back against the wall in fear.
When the figure suddenly came into the light, Rudra was shocked. The figure standing in front of him was none other than a very big wild beast — and it was not a normal beast. It was The Wolf, the king of the mountain.
Rudra was terrified. He had fear in his eyes. He mustered the courage to look into the eyes of the wolf. Water was dripping from his mouth. Suddenly, the wolf jumped to eat Rudra. Rudra dodged the attack and rushed toward the exit.
When he was about to escape, he was pulled back by the chain that had imprisoned him.
He looked up to the exit. His two friends were still there — and they were laughing at him.
He then asked, "Why are you doing this to me?"
"What grudge do you have against me?"
"They don't have a grudge against you, but I do," a voice suddenly said.
A figure came out from the bushes.
Rudra immediately turned his attention toward the figure and said, "So it was none other than you, Yash."
"So, you still remember him?" Yash said.
How could Rudra forget about him? Yash was the son of the village chief of Nandgaon. He was very arrogant — and also very evil.
Yash beat and killed people he didn't like. Most of the girls and women in the village were assaulted and raped by him.
But how did Yash have a grudge against Rudra?
One day, Rudra saw Yash beating his friends, Aarav and Eshwar. He stepped in and pushed Yash back to save his friends.
Yash was enraged by this. Leaving Rudra's friends, he turned to beat Rudra. He beat Rudra very seriously. Rudra was bleeding from the beating.
But Yash was suddenly stopped by two cultivators. Yash suddenly bowed to the two cultivators.
Those cultivators were from the Dharma Sect — a big sect located in the mountains. It was a righteous sect with a great reputation in nearby villages.
They were here to recruit people for their sect.
They didn't find good seedlings in the village until they met Yash and Rudra's two friends.
Yash had a rare low-grade spiritual root, while Eshwar and Aarav had common upper-grade spiritual roots.
Every grade of spiritual root is divided into three parts: Lower, Middle, and Upper. But there are some exceptions. Some roots are known as Mutated Roots and Artificial Roots.
Yash had rare-grade Fine Spiritual Roots, while Rudra's two friends had common-grade Water and Wind Spiritual Roots.
The two cultivators stopped Yash and punished him. They then took him to the village head's house.
One of the cultivators said, "Your son is tarnishing our sect's reputation!"
"My two dear friends, please forgive my son and let him join your sect," said the village chief.
"I have also prepared some special gifts for you," the village chief said politely.
When the two cultivators opened the pouch, they saw many spiritual treasures.
"We will forgive him this time and tell your son to deal with his business silently," they said before leaving the village.
Yash then said to his father, "Father, why did you bow down to these ants? You can crush them easily."
Hearing this, the village chief slapped his son and said, "You fool! I am just building your future. They are the inner disciples of the Dharma Sect. If we harm them, our whole family will be wiped out!"
This was the first time his father slapped him and scolded him.
And it all happened because of Rudra. So he decided to kill him in the worst way.
He then bribed his two friends to take him to the Wolf King's cave.
After hearing this, Rudra roared at his friends.
"You bastard! I helped you, and this is how you repaid me?"
"Don't blame us, Rudra. Lord Yash promised us that he will take care of them in sect ."
"And you? You were just a stepping stone for our success!" one of the friends said.
After hearing this, Rudra was very angry and sad. He sacrificed everything to help his friends, but his friends just stabbed him in the back.
"You bastards, if I survive, I will make sure to send you all to hell with my own hands!" he said angrily.
"Then good luck. We will wait for you," they said mockingly and left the cave.
Suddenly, the Wolf King attacked again and tore off Rudra's arm.
Rudra screamed in pain, but the Wolf King didn't stop and lifted Rudra with chains. The wolf threw him at a distance.
Rudra then started to faint from his continued injuries. But he stood up again and tried to defend himself.
His will for revenge and survival gave him the strength to battle against the Wolf King.
Suddenly, he noticed that the place where the Wolf King had attacked him with the chains had started to show some cracks.
He suddenly got an idea and started provoking the Wolf King.
"You stupid mutt! Come and catch me!" Hearing the provocation, the Wolf King enraged and attacked Rudra with his paw.
When the paw was about to reach Rudra, he dodged and defended himself with the chains.
The chains cracked from the attack, and Rudra freed himself from them.
After freeing himself, Rudra ran toward the exit of the cave. But the exit was blocked by the Wolf King.
So Rudra ran deeper into the cave. He then found a medical field rich with medicinal herbs.
Rudra then picked up some herbs to heal his injuries. When he ate the herbs, his body started burning. He realized that he had eaten a potent medicine that had powerful properties.
He then tried to circulate his energy, but couldn't because of his broken spiritual roots.
He then realized that the Wolf King was coming toward him.
He suddenly got up and tried to run, but it was in vain. The Wolf King caught up with him and attacked again.
The attack sent Rudra flying toward a stone statue.
When he collided with the statue, it shattered and revealed a mysterious weapon. Rudra saw the weapon and grabbed it to attack the Wolf King.
But Rudra suddenly lost his consciousness and fell to the ground.
The Wolf King approached him and tried to eat him, but suddenly the weapon started to float in the air.
The weapon then sent a burst of energy and flung the Wolf King away.
The Wolf King fled in fear, and the cave entrance was blocked by rocks.
Then the mysterious weapon slowly started floating toward Rudra. After coming near him, the weapon merged itself into Rudra's spiritual roots.
The weapon has chosen Rudra!!
