That blonde haired girl walked forward and bowed politely before speaking,
"I am Ameliana Reidsa Lurentze. It's a pleasure to meet you, Elios. I will be both your teacher in dark magic along with your guide in the night hunt."
Noah was confused for a moment before Alicia explained.
"This Job of demon hunting was actually started with Light Magic at first. But then as we interrogated a few dark mages, we found that the dark mages created a few contract clause which made those summoned monsters/slash demons weaker against dark mages."(Alicia)
"It was done so that the dark mages can control them easily. Though on the other hand, the monsters were made particularly made strong using runes and weapons that provide heavy resistance against light magic."(Alicia)
[Weaker against Dark Magic and strong against Light, huh? Surely that would be a headache for the temple.](Elios)
Noah agreed with Elios, and he can now understand why he was asked to hunt the demons. His dark magic is particularly useful against the demons, plus the light magic can be used against the Dark Mages so it was a win-win situation.
But still… A tutor?
"Ameliana is a strong Dark Mage who knows a variety of skills. You probably won't find a better tutor than her when it comes to dark arts, you can trust me on that."(Alicia)
"But… that's not what I am confused about."(Noah)
[Yeah. Why is the church hiding a dark mage within their ranks?](Elios)
Since there was no point in hiding his thoughts in front of Alicia, Noah asked Elios's question in front of everyone.
"Why is the church-"(Noah)
"… hiding a dark mage? Well that's something we cannot really disclose. The reasons are… pretty specific and honestly I have asked to be tight lipped about it."(Alicia)
That didn't answer anyone's question.
"By whom?"(Noah)
Alicia smiled before pointing at the statue of Goddess Alepsia, making Noah's eyes wide in an instant.

"Don't ask me anymore than that, pretty please?" Alicia tried to act cute but Noah couldn't just not get interested in this. Even Elios was dying to know what exactly was going on in the temple.
"Let's get back to the main topic then. Here is the deal, Ameliana will teach you dark magic and in return you hunt a few dark mages and demons for us. We will also compensate you additionally based on the demons/dark mages you kill and the people you save in the process."(Alicia)
Noah turned silent for a few seconds before he sighed. Even though he had a dozen questions in his mind, he decided not to dwell on that. It's not like he was in any different situation than that girl, plus there was nothing wrong with keeping quiet and finishing the work.
Nothing too different than his last life… except for the fact he will be hunting more than just humans now.
"Seems like you have finalised your thoughts."(Alicia)
Noah nodded at her, making her smile before she passed on a neat white paper to him.
"These are the contents of your first mission. It's not too difficult so you should be able to do it. Although, to be honest, it's more of a test to check for abilities so make sure to show all you can do. This will help us choose the right path for you dark magic to grow, allowing us to know more about our enemies in the process."(Alicia)
"Aren't you putting too much trust on someone about whom you don't even know about?"(Noah)

"Elios Gregory. Son of Ramos Gregory. Your father and mother are both farmers in a small village near the Border Town in the south. You have three elder brothers, a farmer, an adventurer and a clinician. You came here after discovering self healing powers, and was working in the church after your family paid a huge donation, which you are still figuring out how to pay."(Alicia)

"But that's not why we selected you. It wasn't even because you had dark powers and could kill all those fucking son of a bitches dark mages-"(Alicia)
"Alicia. Language."(Lucas)
"Uhm. It was because of your nature. You did you duties without any miss. Diligently studied even after the time limit as done. Helped more people than you were usually asked to do. And honestly speaking, what you did today… hit the final nail."(Alicia)
Alicia had a smile on her face as she looked at Noah. It was more of a kind smile than one shows when they are proud of someone. Though it only gave Noah a complex feeling. On one side, he didn't hate the fact that he was being appreciated but on the other hand, the fact that he was being tailed was something that he didn't like.
Still, it wasn't like he could do something about it right now. All he could do was to get strong enough to hide himself from these damned, overpowered people.
And with that line of thought, he then focused on the mission given to him.
