Chapter 41 - Chapter 40: From Ashes

---

Location: Montenegro Estate – Just After Ricci's Death

The smell of gunpowder hung in the air. Smoke twisted around the marble pillars.

Isabella stood over Ricci's body, unmoving.

Blood pooled across the velvet carpet like spilled wine.

Costanzo knelt beside the corpse, head bowed—not in mourning, but in reckoning.

"I thought I had to follow him," he said softly. "Until I realized I was just chasing a ghost."

Nico looked to Isabella. "What do we do now?"

She didn't answer right away.

Instead, she turned to Allegra, to Gianna, to Domenico.

"Strip the estate," she ordered. "Burn the rest."

Flashpoint – The Betrayal Within

As the teams swept through Ricci's vaults, a hidden door was uncovered.

Inside: records. Names. Video surveillance.

But more shocking—documents revealing a second traitor.

A leak within Isabella's inner circle.

Allegra scanned the files. "This is from months ago... someone tipped Ricci off during the Florence safehouse op."

Gianna went pale.

"I told no one... except..."

All eyes turned to Lorenzo, a logistics contact who had just returned after months abroad.

"I did it to protect the children we had in the south," he stammered. "He threatened to kill every one of them—"

Isabella raised a hand. "We'll deal with it. But not here. Not tonight."

She walked away.

48 Hours Later – The Estate in Flames

Smoke rose behind them as the Montenegro compound burned. All files uploaded. All blackmail destroyed. All accounts rerouted.

A clean slate—soaked in fire and death.

Nico leaned against a car, bruised and exhausted. "You're not the same woman I met in that cathedral."

Isabella exhaled. "Neither are you."

He stepped closer. "You know you don't have to do this alone anymore."

She smiled, faintly. "That's the problem. I do. But I don't want to."

She took his hand.

For the first time, no one was watching.

Three Months Later – Rome, Reclaimed

A new organization rose from the ruins.

Not a mafia.

Not a syndicate.

But something sharper.

Smarter.

Isabella stood before a quiet council of reformed families. She had power now—real, earned power. But she led differently.

No more blood oaths.

Just clean deals, public shadows, and one rule: No women. No children. No debts carried forward.

Costanzo sat silently at the end of the table. Still watching. Still loyal. Still wondering if one day, she'd turn her gun on him too.

Gianna ran ops.

Allegra handled intelligence.

Nico? He was harder to define. He was her edge. Her heart. And sometimes her leash.

Final Scene – Florence Cemetery

Isabella stood before her father's grave.

The sky was velvet. The wind soft.

"I didn't do it your way," she said. "But I did it."

A long pause.

She added, "Now I build something that no one can tear down."

Behind her, footsteps.

Nico.

He offered a single red rose.

"Blood in the sky," he murmured, laying it on the grave. "And fire in her hands."
