Chapter 31 - Understand the situation

After the mysterious energy and the devastating magical weapon/sorcery

subsided, it did not destroy the surrounding structures at all. But all living things in that radius completely perished. Even small bits of plants in the crevices vanished instantly, as if the destruction was specific only to living things.

On the other side of the university, a mysterious person wearing a head covering stood. He turned and stared at the university from the back exit area, which was a place full of dense forest. That person slowly walked away silently, disappearing into the dark forest, leaving behind only a fragment of the puzzling act.

Professor Klas stepped and walked after the students, amidst the university's forest line. But then he turned back to look at the original spot where he left, with a solemn look and a slow demeanor, as if he, too, could see and was watching the direction where the mysterious person in the cover was moving and disappearing into the dark forest.

...But then, he clapped his hands again. A different kind of energy spread out as a faint wave in a narrow radius. That wave silently spread to the trees above, causing the birds overhead to cry out urgently with panic. Those sounds destroyed the silence that covered the forest, lessening the apprehension, and he was able to step forward firmly amidst the dense forest.

[ Isheevor North.. ]

...The city of Isheevor is always covered in chaos and dense crowds, but behind that liveliness is the rawness of the citizens, who are rude beyond acceptance. Isheevor, the land of the Northern region, is as advanced as the most developed city in this land. Many industries are densely clustered here. There are large-scale goods transportations constantly, coupled with people who compete ceaselessly.

The phrase: Even though it is in the region known as being beyond the cold, here it is not like that. The city of Isheevor is full of sweltering heat all the time, like a desert situated amidst the greenery of the surrounding area. Inside one building, there is an empty hall. There is nothing inside it, only the space of the room. Below that is Fanet, who is fiercely managing a problem with a group of teenagers.

"Get lost kid.. Don't bother me."

"Or do you want heavy fists.."

Fanet acted the role of an innocent young man, but even though these teenagers chased him away, he wouldn't back down even slightly, still standing firmly and stubbornly.

"Please... If you guys help me.."

"I will repay you in the most profound way.."

A young man walked in and hugged his shoulder from the side, overly intimate, while flashing a sly grin "Are you sure..." he said with a sly smile. "In your condition... what could you possibly repay us with."

On the top floor of the building, in the empty room, was Konji, who was sitting leaning against the wall casually. One hand held a stone, rubbing it back and forth on the floor with a relaxed manner. Enklas stood next to him and stared at Fanet, who was fiercely facing the conflict below.

"What's so scary about the Faranes," Konji asked carelessly, as he was moving the stone rubbing the floor back and forth casually, as if he was killing worthless time.

Enklas's eyes trembled slightly as some feeling flashed back in his head. He turned to Konji and answered with a serious tone: "Armed forces, hundreds of riflemen... and vast influence!!"

The sound of the words faded. His hand stopped still and gripped the stone tightly. Konji lowered his head slightly, revealing a faint smile that appeared on his face. Enklas only turned back to look at Konji briefly, amidst the silence that covered the room. Enklas threw a spherical object. Konji caught it instantly by instinct, but he still didn't understand why it was sent to him.

"This thing is... 'Focwebblack'..." Enklas explained, with his eyes softening.

"Or, to call it another name... it is a scientific invention blended with magical power."

Konji held it carefully, while 'Focwebblack' emitted a sound similar to a communicator that someone was contacting. It trembled slightly, which showed that inside it seemed to have its own 'thought' and 'knowledge'. Konji's listless face was revealed, but his eyes were focused on the spherical object warmly. He asked with genuine interest

"Who invented it..."

"To be honest... the inventors of things like this were the Faranes of the previous generation, which are not like the savages we see today." Enklas stood calmly with his arms crossed, but revealed a faint smile that no one had ever seen before Konji. He stared at the spherical object in Konji's hand.

"But for this one... I myself created it."

"No one among the Faranes of this era... can create it except me." Suddenly, the spherical object flew rapidly back into Enklas's hand, as if it were a part of his body being called back, showing the bond between him and the invention.

"You're pretty awesome," Konji turned his eyes to look at Enklas only briefly, but his eyes were sharp and powerful, like a predatory bird staring at its target. Enklas's face changed immediately when he saw Konji's expression and sharp, predatory gaze. Enklas almost dodged that sharp gaze, but then decided to stare back without yielding, turning into a fierce staring battle

"Say whatever you're going to say directly..."

"I know all your habits about what you're going to play next."

"Oh dear... I've been caught, haven't I?" Konji tilted his head slightly, with an irritating and sarcastic, provocative expression. Then he picked up the same stone and rubbed it carelessly again. Enklas spoke in a casual tone, but with a hint of boredom

"Thank you for trusting me."

But then Konji quickly stood up. He grabbed the window ledge tightly and murmured softly to himself while getting ready to move.

"How annoying... Those guys still won't shut up.."

Before he focused his eyes on Fanet and the teenagers who were fiercely arguing below. Fanet was completely surrounded by those teenagers. He tried to speak calmly to alleviate the tense situation. "Please forgive me..." Fanet said with a submissive tone.

"I've just come to this city for the first time. I really don't know who you are." He bowed his head slightly, while tensing his face to look afraid, like a victim being bullied. But then his eyes quickly glanced at the side bag of the teenager right in front of him, as if something inside it was tempting him.

The ringleader leaned in threateningly and said "Learn to know your place kid... Don't you know whose territory this is! Learn to follow orders when you speak!"

During that confrontation, Fanet glanced up at the window of the building above, where Enklas and Konji were watching. Fanet's eyes glanced at a small pink cloth that was fluttering in the wind, which was usually tied to the window ledge.

Enklas held a small string tied to the cloth firmly. He held it and swayed it slowly to let the cloth flutter in the direction of the wind, like a signal. Konji stood next to Enklas and kept watching Fanet below carefully and attentively.

The ringleader walked closer to Fanet with a sly and power-crazy manner. He grabbed Fanet's face tightly with violence and stared down with contemptuous eyes. Fanet acted fear skillfully. He pretended to tremble slightly with eyes that wavered as if about to cry. In that moment, Fanet secretly looked at the ringleader's bag right in front of him, which was very close to him, meaningfully.

While being threatened, Fanet used his left hand to grip his own left waist tightly and controlled the hem of his shirt there, like a signal revealing something hidden. Quick as if they had agreed beforehand, Konji clearly saw Fanet's left hand gripping his waist tightly. He understood the signal immediately. Konji quickly turned back to look at Enklas instantly. In that split second, everything happened simultaneously. Fanet quickly snatched his hand into the ringleader's bag, while on the other side, Enklas instantly tugged the string tied to the pink cloth.

"What are you doing!!..."

Fanet gripped the stolen cloth bag tightly, then immediately took off running to escape.

"Hurry and follow him...."

But the string that Enklas tugged caused the cloth to spin violently, along with small water droplets that scattered throughout the area. But before it scattered, Enklas gripped the 'Focwebblack' tightly. Blue electricity instantly shot out toward the cloth, making the scattered water droplets full of electricity.

That electricity caused the group of thugs/hooligan teenagers to collapse to the ground with a slight twitching. They cried out in confusion "Heyyy! What the heck is this!"

It seemed to be only a low-level electric current that was not life-threatening.

Immediately after that, Konji and Enklas quickly jumped down from the building and shot out running after Fanet to join the operation. During that, Konji glanced at Enklas, while revealing a sly grin.

"You're not bad..."
