"Kill… you?" Xavier slowly frowned his face as he repeated Bull's words. "Are you out of your mind? Seriously, how stupid can someone be?! Destiny? Fate?! That doesn't exist!" he hissed. "How could someone like you believe in that?!"
Bull looked into Xavier's eyes and couldn't help but chuckle. "You didn't believe in the Goddess Astrea either, right?"
"..." Xavier was speechless. It was the truth. Even though everyone in his village prayed to the goddess, he never attended a single sermon. His father was the prophet, the leader, but Xavier didn't pray to the goddess. However, he had never once thought of them as mindless fools. He knew that there must be a reason why they were doing it.
"Xavier, I understand it's hard for you to fully grasp the concept of destiny and fate. And it's natural for you to believe it in. But one day, you will experience it and start to believe in it," he said in a calm voice.
