Chapter 49 - Verde Horizon

The Satoya-less Gang shenanigans somewhere in Maehwa…

The question asked by this bizarrely noble man made the Satoya-less Gang look at each other reluctantly. Then back to the man in front of them next to the Section Leader, who seemed to be quite powerful but not as, but his suit, unlike the Musicians, was red. So this sight quite frankly made them all tense.

Then after what felt like a minute of awkward silence, the noble man smiled politely, and proceeded to walk past them. The way he walked past them was quite rude and well.. Spoiled if that is the correct word.

Every step the man took, he made sure to make everyone in the room acknowledge his gold and blue hilted sabre.

Ugh.. He's one of THOSE, rich people.. But why is he controlling a Section Leader? He doesn't seem like a Concert Master..

As the man made it to the elevator the Satoya-less Gang initially arrived from, he spun around, his white fur clothed flowing dramatically. He then made a sly grin, and pressed a button in the elevator, then as the door began to close slowly, he made a simple order, "alright, ya'll have fun now!"

Kohayuki glared at the elevator until it fully closed, and turned her head to the Musicians and the Section Leader. "Uhm.. Ahem, do we like, fight now?" She asked as she gripped her crowbar in preparation.

The Section Leader waved his hand up, and looked at Rayna in a slightly confused expression, he then asked her a rather odd question and comment.

"You make a striking resemblance to the Solo Cello."

"The who?"

"Do you even know who I am referring to?"

"Absolutely not. All I know is the Solo Cello is also the Alsaia or whatever."

"Bummer, well then, let's go on with it." The Section Leader sighed in disappointment, and took out an instrument case, then proceeded to grab a stiletto that also resembled a clarinet. He then snapped his finger, and as if on queue, the armed Musicians began to approach the Satoya-less Gang.

Meanwhile the bottom floor.

Sendo and Ludwig still seemed to be arguing. Sendo's exclamations and claims were so loud even the people outside walking past the office building couldn't help but side eye the inside.

"YOU THINK I AM FAKING AN ACCENT HUH? MIND YOU I— Ah fuck my chest —WHEN I SPOKE LIKE THIS SINCE WHEN I WAS YOUNG?!"

"Affirmative."

"Just wait till I fuckin' recover and I'll kick yar ass."

"Mhm."

Despite Sendo's threatening claims, and his evidence, Ludwig remained quite relaxed and composed. Continuing to take small sips of the cup of black coffee, he continued to give quick glances at Sendo, which made Sendo even more aggravated. Then out of nowhere, the elevator opened, with Ludwig suddenly shifting his head and attention to the man who stepped out of the elevator.

"How unexpected, Ludwig Azure of all people made a friend, if not several?" The noble man mocked before he laughed obnoxiously.

"Gherman? To think Allorenna would send you to hunt me down after a year of silence." Ludwig said sternly, he placed the cup of coffee gently on the table Sendo is still resting his feet on. He then stood up and began to approach the man.

"Ya wan' help?" Sendo asked casually, seemingly indifferent about the presence of Gherman. However Ludwig motioned his hand as if he was declining.

"Allorenna?.. Allorenna?! Ha! You think your old hag of a mother is still the Head? Wrong! She stepped down." Gherman chuckled, as he unsheathed his gold and blue hilted sabre, the silver blade was well polished and reflected the lights from the ceiling like a mirror.

"She stepped down.. I see, then who is the current Head now?" Ludwig unsheathed his sword, and upon the sight of the blade, Gherman's face contorted into disgust.

Gherman then lunged at Ludwig, "Bernhardt is the current Head now!" He yelled out as he and Ludwig clashed blades.

The way Gherman fought was extremely offensive, and the techniques he were using were full of holes, and no matter how much he tried to lay a single cut on Ludwig, it was narrowly deflected. The peculiar fact was that, most of the deflections or parries Ludwig had done against him were as if he was exactly familiar with how Gherman fought, possibly him being familiar with the techniques. Until Ludwig deflected Gherman's overhead swing while reverse gripping his sword, and then Ludwig spun around and made a sudden yet powerful stab.

Gherman was able to block it, however the sheer force and lack of warning caused the sabre's blade to snap off, resulting in him being knocked back. And with a follow up, Ludwig swung his blade down, cleaving through Gherman's chest, blood splattering into the carpet floor as he fell quietly onto the ground.

Sendo made a brief scoff, "ya read him lika book! That was unfair as fuck!"

Ludwig glanced at Sendo, before letting out an annoyed exhale.

"His use of one of the two Azure Family swordsmanship was terrible." Ludwig continued, he then gave a firm swing to his blade, and cleaned the blood off it, then sheathed his sword.

"Ah, uh, which one? Waz it tha' Verd' Horizon? I barely remembur ya talkin' to Rin bout tha." Sendo commented, looking at the ceiling massaging his forehead, attempting to remember more about the brief conversation.

"Yes, Verde Horizon." Ludwig confirmed as he rest looked at the outside, as if he was scouting for possible hostility. Then again, he sat back down, and grabbed the black coffee he was already drinking and continued to take small sips, ignoring the corpse in the middle of the bottom floor.
