Chapter 41 - Unwanted Attention

Within the 4th Capital's Cervantes country, and the Country Capital. The gothic architecture of the buildings, the somewhat humid atmosphere, and even the odd accents of the locals. It was honestly quite difficult to even understand what the locals were saying. The Satoya gang, or well, currently the Satoya-less gang, are relaxing or taking a break inside a posh restaurant that Rayna had suggested, which was called Mangaire Bene. Despite them being literally out of fashion compared to everyone's luxurious dresses, suits, and even the handkerchiefs that everyone seemingly wore out of pure fashion.

The attires worn by the Satoya-less gang were extremely eye-catching, considering Shizune is wearing a basic blue T-shirt she stole from her older brother several years ago, Isaac with his brown jacket that had probably never been washed, Rayna who wore the most expensive outfit that includes a 495,000 Alikur purse, and a tan jacket. Edward was still wearing his generic jeans and green T-shirt, and lastly Johnathan was wearing sweatpants and a hoodie.

Unfortunately, they were the center of every customer inside the restaurant, although they were sitting on the furthest corner. Amidst the chatter and 'elegant' laughter flooding the whole building, Shizune let out an exhausted sigh, deciding to rest her head on the table. "We asked every single person we came across about where Satoya is, and their accents are too weird to understand!"

Isaac was chewing on an appetizer of just salty bread, which he genuinely found to be extremely bland, but not really minding the 'fancy restaurant etiquette.' of being respectful, he spoke, "personally I think he got kidnapped. I mean he looks very kidnappable right?" Everyone at the table proceeded to give him an odd glare.

"So why were we in Cervantes again?" Isaac continued, his arm perched up on the table, holding the bitten salty bread, the bread crumbs on the table would probably make Rayna punch him in the face, but the only thing holding her back was the setting.

Rayna took a short glance at Shizune, who still rested her head on the table. She quietly tapped her back, asking her a question, "you alright? You're oddly depressed."

Shizune sat back up, her hair was somewhat messy, but she still seemed rather calm. "Oh right, yeah." She let out a sigh, "shouldn't we find Satoya before college year starts?"

Everyone proceeded to give her a suspicious stare. With Isaac wheezing, nearly choking on his piece of bread, remarking "since when did you care about him that much?"

Shizune quickly responded, "huh? Really? That's not what I meant!" After her suggestion, she now realized how Isaac is prone to taking everything in the wrong context. Although she does indeed care about Satoya, she also feels that Satoya is hiding a lot of things that she alone wanted to discover. Of course, she also is the only one aside from Rin to know the "hidden" or well, vague and probably classic Okamuraese comic main character's "I wanna save the world!" Troupe that Satoya has for his reasoning on becoming a Regulator, moreover his current answer to his "Elusive Solace's question." And indeed she cannot let go of that, which is probably exhausting for herself as well as counterintuitive.

"But still, Shizune has an extremely good point, if we return to our hometown, wouldn't—oh right. Satoya is practically invisible in our hometown." Rayna said.

Edward calmly placed his glass of cold water on the table, pointing out "well, aren't 80% of us foreigners like Okamura? Only Shizune and Satoya are Okamura natives."

Rayna balled up her hand, bringing it up to her mouth, coughing "We're going off topic."

"Oh right, Satoya is missing. But doesn't the college year start after the Okamura Autumn festival?" Edward said while he was fidgeting with the condensation on the glass of water. No one really responded to his question about the festival, but the Okamura Autumn festival is a festival that occurs every decade, and is primarily to thank the sacrifices of the Reitsune clan that got wiped out during the 6th Disaster.

"We should find him, but how?" Rayna spoke out in question.

Suddenly, Johnathan spoke, casually suggesting "what if we become a subsidiary division of the RC?"

"Excuse me what?" Rayna raised an eyebrow.

Johnathan continued to speak, "y'know how like, if we have more than 4 people, we can make a subsidiary division? Why won't we make Satoya the leader without his permission?"

Shizune looked up at Johnathan, who sat across the corner from her. "We can?"

A couple minutes had passed. They literally spent the past 5 minutes walking to the RC headquarter, which was coincidentally located a couple blocks away from the expensive restaurant. They paused in front of the automated glass doors, everyone having an equal thought.

"Should we really do this? Don't all of us except Edward have to do that AI generated survey?" Rayna asked nervously.

The survey should be easy, however you kinda need to be lucky to even get an easy survey instead of receiving random questions that even an engineer of the top college can't answer.

"Edward can just easily pass, lucky bastard." Isaac grabbed Edward's shoulder, his grip strengthening every second. But Isaac let go, deciding not to pick a fight with a Truth Seeker whose Verity is too confusing for him to understand.

While they were conversing in front of the automated glass doors, a large crackle erupted from the right of them. The wall was blown open, causing a man who radiated sparks of electricity to be flown out.

While they were distracted, watching the scene unfold in awe, the automated doors opened, with the graceful clattering of a woman with lusciously long blonde hair, wearing an armor clad in the shiniest of silver material. Despite her appearance being nearly a goddess in armor, she was visibly ticked off.

She began walking around the group, her shoes clattered in tranquility. Shizune noticed gilded words that spelled out "Elite rank 12" while she strode past them.

The woman began to mumble curses, vaguely speaking out loud "imbecile blaming me for that airport's catastrophe."

The Satoya-less gang spun around, still observing the woman stepping down. From the distance, they noticed a braided brown haired man holding an hatchet that pulsated an enormous amount of electricity. Edward made a revelation, whispering to the others "that hatchet is a Merit Revelator probably." They all collectively nodded in agreement, then Shizune finally whispered, "and that fancy lady is Elite rank 12."

The braided man yelled in fury, "if you were at that Rieamaius airport, 300 people wouldn't have died that day!" The woman swiftly answered, scolding back "Oh really?! Aren't you the one stationed at Rieamaius! Yet blaming me?! I'm stationed and also live here! You incoherent cunt!"

The braided man gripped his hatchet, and raised it in the air, causing his hatchet to be engulfed in lightning. He proceeded to throw more insults at her, "just because you are 2 ranks away from Requiem, doesn't mean you can be an arrogant bitch!" However before he even had the chance to swing, the woman instantly appeared ahead of him, swinging her rapier up.

A large glacier froze the man. Along with several cars and street lamps. The sight caused a couple pedestrians to retreat in fear. Some seek shelter inside a store or clothing shop.

"D-damn.. She really froze that dude." Shizune said, her eyes widened by the sight. The whole scene became dead silent, the lack of cars honking and beeping due to the precision of the glacier's formation conjured by the woman.

"Ms. Juliet Cerulea! Are you kidding me?!" An employee with black hair tied into a bun, who had a lanyard with an ID card scolded. The Satoya-less gang was caught off guard by the sudden scolding, facing the employee instead, too stunned to speak. Her ID card had these words written.

Camila Silva

Regulator's Committee, 4th Capital – Cervantes

Employee – Assistant.

She stomped down the stairs, apologizing to the Satoya-less gang quietly while containing her obvious annoyance.

"What are you thinking?! You can't just freeze anyone who annoys you!" She scolded once again.

Juliet, with her gleaming silver armor sheathed her rapier, turning her head back at Camila. Making a brief apology, "sorry I guess? From my knowledge, no one really likes him, even some of the Requiem ranks I met despise him."

Camila paused, taking a brief moment of thought, then nodding her head as if Juliet had a point, "fair point, he's too loud." She admitted.
