Chapter 13 - Alikur Note

Edward, Rayna, and Johnathan were still walking around the same dilapidated apartment. Each step was getting more and more fueled with impatience. Rayna was quietly fidgeting with her military knife that she bought for 4800 Alikurs, despite the fact that the knife was still sharp, she was still scratching her finger tip on the sharp edge, quite frankly bored out of her mind.

Edward kept aiming his pistol toward random places, left and right, up and down. He was literally acting like he was in a movie, where the main character is holding some rifle, and was jolting around into random rooms prepared to shoot anything that moves.

Eventually they made it to split the path inside the apartment, which they found odd, but considering how the construction company that built the apartment was known to make rather.. Questionable architectural decisions, they shrugged it off. Rayna and Edward both decided to go to the left, simply because of a common phrase that they still remembered from their 10th grade Language teacher, "To be left is to be right, which means the right direction is often the wrong way." Despite the absurdity of that phrase, it still lingered in their mind, and sometimes they do give in to the temptation of complying with those words for fun.

Jonathan however went to the right without the two noticing. The primary reason being he felt like walking that way.

Now Group 2 is now unofficially split into 2 subgroups, Group 2A and Group 2B.

After a couple minutes, Rayna finally spoke, with a rather blank expression.

"What are we doing again?"

"I honestly forgot, it's gonna become dark out in 10 minutes, I seriously wanna just leave."

The two went silent again, before stumbling across a suspiciously placed 10 Alikur note that is also conveniently placed in the middle of the hallway. Based on the placement, they both reached the conclusion that it is a trap.

"Wow.. Look.. a single Alikur note.. Seriously, no ones gonna fall for that right?" Rayna pointed. They were able to spot the Alikur note from the fact that it is in a well lit part of the hallway.

Edward shrugged, before chuckling, "Unless you're a dumbass like Shizune or Isaac… Oh, and where's Johnathan?"

They turned backwards, then around, they peered into another hallway, no one, they even looked out of a shattered window, no one, except for a decomposing dead bird.

Lastly, they faced back at the Alikur note, and saw a silhouette of someone walking toward it. Hands in pocket, headphones.. . It can't really be him right?

"Ooh money."

"Johnathan!" Rayna and Edward cried, yet they were too late, Johnathan crumpled the note and shoved it into his pocket.

Not even a minute, precisely like 5 seconds, they all heard an alarming amount of footsteps rushing toward them from all sides. Multiple lasers were appearing on the heads of the trio, more or less, Johnathan had the most lasers pointed at his head unfortunately.

"Huh? It's just a bunch of idiot teenagers?" A confused young man's voice was heard.

"You lots have trespassed onto TCT property." Another person spoke in a muffled voice, likely from the fact that they were probably wearing masks.

The members of Group 2 reunited, sadly in the worst scenario imaginable, with Rayna giving Johnathan a dead stare as she felt the cold surface of handcuffs.

"I will kill you once we get out of this." She groaned.

Edward had a brief moment of fear, "TCT? Oh wait, eh, Group 1's probably fine."

Group 1 was… Well.. Perfectly fine. The only thing happening is the desperate running from Zykar who was cowardly sprinting away from Ludwig who was only a foot away from him, holding his sword without a single drop of sweat on his face. The situation was that, no less than 2 minutes ago, Zykar had ordered roughly 15 TCT soldiers he was in charge of to start firing at Group 1. Which resulted in the complete massacre of the roughly 15 soldiers, with no survivors whatsoever.

Satoya, Shizune, and Isaac were completely uninjured, with them just resting against a set of lockers. Satoya himself was watching Ludwig chase Zykar around, with Shizune and Isaac having another argument.

"So what, you knocked him out cold?! What if he wakes up?" Shizune argued, she was pointing at a single soldier who was completely unconscious.

"I'll knock him out again!" Laughed Isaac.

Despite this conflict beside Satoya, Satoya himself was sitting, the sheathed katana resting against the locker.

So why did he want us to split up if he was gonna do this all himself? He literally sliced every single soldier in sight in what? Less than 20 seconds? I don't even think that was humanly possible.

"We can talk about this! We can talk about this!" Repeated Zykar, his desperate pleas were mixed with anxiety. He was running for his life.

Ludwig was still calm, his expression remained focused on killing him like what he did to the other soldiers. There isn't any law prohibiting Regulators to defend themselves from TCT attacks, the only drawback is that if word breaks out of a Regulator killing an entire squad of TCT soldiers, that Regulator would oftentimes be apprehended. Thus Ludwig made the decision to leave no survivors, as no survivors means no witness..

This man has no combat capabilities at all! He simply dodged my initial swing out of pure instinct! I can tell that the prosthetic he has from being a Deal Maker has the caliber to kill a semi-elite rank rather easily..

Zykar started slowing down, his breath was rapid, movement became fatigued. He had his hands on his knees, and turned around in fear to see Ludwig charge toward him once again.

Then a spear was thrown from the distance, with Ludwig deflecting it, leaving a small gash on his cheek. Ludwig also sensed the presence of a strong individual coming towards him at an alarming rate.

"Finally! Lauris! You're late!"
