-Kerrrrrk.
KiRA slowly took the painting down and turned it around.
A very small compartment was built within the painting, so he took the box-like thing out and hung the painting back.
Following that, he moved his fingers on the painting, on the goddess, on the holy light depicted on it, and tried feeling something.
'It should be right here…'
He believed the thing would be right where it usually is, but that was sadly not the case.
'Here.'
The thing that he was searching for, a very thin hair that wasn't part of the painting but was hidden within the deep strokes of the artist, was off by a few inches, something that would not happen if the data was replicated exactly as it was in the game.
'While the concept is the same, the locations aren't.'
This experience once again reminded him how these dungeons and the Tower that he knew about weren't exactly the same as what he knew. There were differences– most were small until now, but it might not be long before he faced things that he had never encountered before within the game.
[{ "We should be careful, Uni." }]
[{ Yes, master. }]
He looked at the hair and the box in his hand, and then at the simple woman who the saint ended up falling for.
'Being a saint did not mean they needed to be celibate. However, it was a vow of a devotee to never be held by any woman but his goddess.'
To be a saint of a higher being was the same as devoting the entire existence that they had to that being. He loved her and he wanted to be with her, but he could not.
Not in life, at least.
'He simply admired her from afar and stayed as close to her as he could, which sadly wasn't enough, and saw the pure maiden until the day she fell at the hands of some monsters.'
The Saint was furious and he destroyed the monsters, and vowed once again to vigorously carry out his holy duties within the tower, ultimately earning the nickname of [Mace of Light] within the tower.
'And, there was one special Skill that helped him achieve that title as much as his Authorities and blessings.'
Skills were not only powers that one was granted by the system or something one was born with. The Skills, within the tower, were divided into three Major categories as well as their own different sub-categories.
'Skills that players possess when they synchronize with the system or what they are already born with, are called Innate skills or Starter skills.'
KiRA's three skills that he had when he first saw his status screen were his Starter skills, skills with the most diverse growth potential or in simpler terms, skills that would grow with the Coins of the person, with their experiences, or through a special condition.
'Skills that we obtain through quests or items or through the combination of other skills are called Acquired skills.'
When someone obtains a skill, they are obtaining a power that wasn't initially their own. It is a kind of external power that they somehow qualified for and were granted by the system.
These skills are more powerful than the skills that one initially possessed, having simpler upgrade conditions and good applicability.
'Lastly, there are skills that one creates by themselves under different circumstances, with the help of various elements, and through the use of the right resources.'
Created skills or Synthesized skills are something not many players possess.
It was already a very difficult task to Combine two different skills, but those who manage to do it obtain powers that aren't simple or weak.
'Skills can be pretty powerful, but never as powerful as the Authorities: the one-of-a-kind power that could interfere with the world directly and is primarily governed by the laws of causality.'
KiRA was here to obtain his main Authority, but the other things— except for the box in his hand— were also going to be quite useful to him.
-Ooooooooooong!
The simple wooden box shimmered with a dull yellow light as soon as he placed the hair on the divine insignia carved on it.
'Yup. Thankfully the same.'
Inside of the box rested a single, simple looking scripture that gave off a strange sensation to anyone looking at it.
There was something special about this thin scripture. Something one could directly feel in their bones.
[{ Master, you'll give this to Izzy, right~? }]
It was an item that would grant its owner the skill of the Saint. But that skill wasn't going to be as useful to him as it would be to his partner.
[{ "Yes, so let's move forward for now." }]
He had enough skills for now. With Unity by his side, he could focus on the skills that would be more useful to him instead.
'That's one down.'
He glanced at the six-pointed golden star symbol with three pairs of pure white wings behind it carved on the box, the insignia of the [Order of Ezlyn].
The order that followed the [Goddess of Light and Purity] was one of the twelve major religions within the tower. And it should not be long before the followers of the twelve religions come to their world to spread the name of their Divinities outside of the tower.
'Let's finish the work now.'
He had knocked down the rats so now he will deal with the government officials. Then he'll deal with the woman above.
He could see two more individuals on the floor above on his MiniMap, but he knew he wouldn't have to worry about that.
'They're after the hidden piece, the loot from the dungeon's boss.'
KiRA knew about that as well. But he did not need that.
He wasn't compatible with things like that in the first place. But that did not mean he'd leave them alone.
'I should at least go and see their faces, right?'
He already had an idea who they might be as well, which simply put another smile on his face.
