The monsters here not only had high stats but also possessed abilities like Night Vision and Shadow Kill, perfect for attacking in the dark.
If not for both of them being stat monsters themselves, this place would have been quite difficult.
Any single monster from the lowest level of the Elroe Labyrinth, if it appeared in the outside world, would cause a massive uproar. But down here, there were so many of them, it felt like an endless supply.
Because they were in an unfamiliar environment, both Kumoko and Elliot were extremely cautious, keeping their HP and MP high, and avoiding large-scale magic unless necessary.
At first, neither Elliot nor Kumoko had experience fighting these ambush-style monsters that appeared and disappeared in the darkness; their spells were often dodged. But they soon figured out how to counter them.
Elliot's method was simple: activate [Solomon's War God] to maintain high mobility and attack power at all times. When he saw a monster, he'd kill it with a single basic attack, giving it no chance.
Kumoko, on the other hand, used her [Curse Evil Eye], one of her Sloth-line Evil Eye skills. By using Curse, Gravity, and other Evil Eye abilities to suppress the enemy's movements, she could then finish them off.
Soon, they finally reached the core area of the lowest level and encountered the most powerful monsters there.
Earth Dragons! Yes, the same dragon race as Elliot. There were three of them.
The leader was a high-level Level 40 Earth Dragon, with average stats around five thousand, already surpassing Earth Dragon Araba.
Another one was Earth Dragon Kaguna, an old acquaintance they had met before. Kaguna was now Level 36, with stats around four thousand.
Dragons. Among all magical beasts, they were an exceptionally special existence. Drakes that accumulated enough age and power would eventually evolve into true Dragons.
Even high-ranking Drakes were rare, let alone actual Earth Dragons!
They were guardians of nature, S-class monsters with overwhelming power, feared by all. And here were three of them at once.
The appearance of even a single dragon in the human world would bring great disaster.
Unfortunately for them, they encountered Elliot and Kumoko two even more ridiculously overpowered monsters.
"DIE!" Kumoko didn't waste words. She immediately launched a powerful offensive, instantly killing Earth Dragon Kaguna and the other lower-level Earth Dragon.
At Level 36, she had reached the pinnacle of her evolution tree. After absorbing the Queen Taratect's power, her stats were now in the twenty thousands.
With such an exaggerated stat panel, Kumoko could effortlessly deal with dragons that could cause storms in the outside world.
The remaining Level 40 giant dragon had a scorching red glow building deep in its throat, apparently about to unleash a breath attack.
However, just as it opened its mouth wide, Kumoko instantly appeared in front of it, grabbed its jaws with her bare hands like dealing with a misbehaving pet dog and physically forced its massive mouth shut.
BOOM— The dragon's breath exploded inside its own throat. Wisps of black smoke rose from its ruptured gullet.
All her movements were fluid, without a hint of hesitation. Kumoko, now, whether in terms of stats or physical strength, was extremely powerful. She could even fight opponents head-on without relying on magic.
Actually, Elliot also preferred this style of combat: less flashy skill-spamming, more impactful, bone-crunching hits.
Three Earth Dragons, easily dispatched by Kumoko, without Elliot even needing to lift a finger.
Kumoko flexed her new humanoid fists, feeling a little unsatisfied. "Earth Dragons... so weak..." She remembered how she almost died fighting Araba back then. Now, she had so easily defeated enemies of similar strength.
But as soon as she said it, Kumoko immediately regretted it. Elliot, standing right beside her, was also an Earth Dragon!
"No, no, no! Elliot, I wasn't talking about you!" Kumoko quickly waved her hands, shaking her head like a rattle drum. She'd misspoken!
But Elliot didn't seem to mind. Firstly, he had already undergone deification. His base form was an Earth Dragon, but his spirit had long transcended that; it was hard for him to empathize with these ordinary Earth Dragons. Secondly, he knew very well how strong he was.
"No need to apologize." Elliot looked past the three dead Earth Dragons. "There seems to be something back there."
"Eh?~" Kumoko looked over. Using her [Wisdom] and [Perception Expansion] skills, she saw it.
They were... giant eggs. Likely hatched by Earth Dragons. Because Earth Dragons were so powerful, the System placed restrictions on their race: their eggs were extremely rare.
A dozen or so was already a huge number. The three Earth Dragons were the parents.
The remaining creatures in the cave were lesser Drakes, much weaker than true Earth Dragons.
Seeing the Earth Dragons fall, they could only try to intimidate Elliot and Kumoko with roars, not daring to actually attack.
"Ah, Earth Dragon eggs!"
"These should make a very delicious feast," Kumoko drooled a little. She was about to eliminate all the Drakes and take the eggs home.
Elliot gave a wry smile but said nothing. He hadn't come here for these eggs. He came to meet "that person."
As the leader of the dragon race, if anything happened to these eggs, he would definitely appear. So, Kumoko wouldn't be able to take these eggs.
Just as Kumoko, with an air of determination, was about to advance towards the Drakes and the dragon eggs, a majestic voice suddenly descended. "That's far enough!"
Both Elliot and Kumoko sensed the distortion of space in front of them. This was the precursor to someone teleporting.
To be able to use Space Magic so perfectly and precisely for travel... in this world, there was only one person capable of that.
A man clad entirely in pitch-black armor appeared before them. His red eyes stared at Elliot and Kumoko with an icy, emotionless gaze.
"Kuro..." Looking at the man, Kumoko remembered. This was the Administrator who had fought Elliot before. Güliedistodiez. The Administrator.
The leader of all dragon races in this world. Logically, Earth Dragons should also be under his command, but Elliot was an exception.
"Stand down! If you continue to cause trouble here, I will consider it a declaration of war against me!" His declaration made Kumoko feel a little intimidated.
She remembered how Elliot, even using all his strength, had only managed to lightly injure this man, while this man could easily destroy them.
This Administrator's power was extraordinary. Even though Kumoko was much stronger now, she still wasn't sure if she could defeat him.
The tense silence lasted only an instant. Elliot had finally been waiting for this Administrator; this was the secret reason for his return to the Elroe Labyrinth.
As the leader of Earth Dragons, he might allow adult Earth Dragons to be killed, but he would never permit their eggs to be destroyed.
If anyone dared to harm the Earth Dragon eggs in the lowest level of the labyrinth, he would personally appear.
"Long time no see," Elliot said calmly, giving Gülie a slight nod. Kumoko tensed, worried they would start fighting the moment they met.
Fortunately, Gülie showed no desire to fight Elliot. Instead, he looked at both of them. After taking a deep breath, he spoke slowly, "You shouldn't be here."
Elliot nodded. "Correct. We are currently being hunted by that Demon Lord. She should be arriving here soon. I came here hoping you, Administrator, would help us stop the Demon Lord." Ariel knew Gülie. Gülie treated Ariel somewhat like a daughter.
He had once cared for Ariel, who was originally an experimental subject, alongside the Goddess of this world. So, he had some connection with the Demon Lord. Asking him for help was the most appropriate course of action.
But Gülie frowned. "I refuse." As an Administrator, he couldn't easily interfere in this world and affect its balance.
Moreover, Elliot was the only Earth Dragon in this world not under his control, which made him wary of Elliot.
"You don't have a choice," Elliot smiled faintly.
In that instant, he activated his Divine Domain. The Domain instantly enveloped Gülie, then vanished just as quickly. It lasted only 0.001 seconds.
Kumoko didn't even realize what had happened; she hadn't sensed a thing.
But Gülie, as an Administrator, clearly felt the terrifying power of that momentary force. If Elliot wanted to, he could ignore Gülie's presence and destroy all the Earth Dragon eggs in a very short time.
This person... in such a short time, he has mastered the power to fight gods!
Gülie's already dark face turned even darker. "Are you threatening me?"
"Not a threat, just hoping the Administrator can lend us a hand. I believe D wouldn't want us to be killed by monsters just like that, right?" Elliot spread his hands.
Honestly, even if Gülie didn't help them, they could probably escape from Ariel, but it would cost them. And it would be very troublesome.
Being constantly hunted by Ariel would give anyone a headache. If Gülie was willing to help, things would be much better.
After a long silence, Gülie finally nodded. "Very well. But I hope... there won't be a next time!" With that, Gülie's figure vanished. He went off to intercept Demon Lord Ariel.
Making an Administrator work for me... that feels pretty good. But this method could probably only be used once.
