I was in my room when a guard came to inform me that my presence was needed. "It's time" I told myself.
I followed him and when we got there I didn't wait for him to invite me inside and went in immediately. That's the first step of the plan be bold!
I walked in and tried to find him in the darkness and I could see his silhouette at a corner.
"You look too confident for someone I am about to kill" I heard him say.
Oh no he is already planning my death like he knows I won't take in.
"I have always been bold" I said trying to approach him in the dark.
"We would see about that" Darcy said and rushed towards me.
I maintained my position and when he was close enough to see my face I knew it was time for the second step.
"I have been waiting for this moment. My parents have always been nagging me about keeping myself till I am 18. I can't wait to see their faces now. Jokes on them" I said and gave out a flirty smile.
He stopped and from what I could see he was trying to analyze his next move and I was scared that my plans didn't work.
"When is your 18th birthday?" He asked with a smile.
"Next week" I said almost immediately thinking that I was spared.
"It's weekend already and technically you are 18" he said with a smirk.
That was when fear began to creep in on me and I stepped back.
"What is it?no longer confident enough?"
He came closer and then almost like a whisper he said
"I know you are not a witch you liar"
I moved back more and started thinking of ways to escape as it's finished. He wouldn't spare me.
" I can explain. I didn't know you wanted a witch until…"
"Until my brother told you. I know. But he did told you before the wedding" he said and moved to sit on the couch in his room.
"If you later found out why didn't you just tell?"
I kept mute.
"Both you and your family are liars and thieves. I will make sure you guys plead for death.
"I am sorry please forgive and punish me alone. My family knows nothing about this" I knelt down pleading.
"You think they don't know?they specifically knew I was looking for a witch and knew what was at stake but they chose to betray me. They would wished they never met me when I am done"
"I would be a full witch by my 18th birthday and then I can bear your child" I tried reasoning with him.
"What makes you think you would be alive by then? And who told you that I need a witch because of a child ?"
"I just heard the servants talking about it" I lied.
"Since I already bought you off. I will treat you like my pet. Henceforth be at my door once it's 7am and you would only retire to your room to rest when I am sleeping"
"You don't owe me. You just married me and I would rather be divorced than being a slave" I said annoyed that this is not going well. Don't get me wrong I am happy that my life is being spared for now which would give me enough time to escape.
"You wish. Your parents sold you off. I own you. And what nonsense marriage. It was just for familiarity sake or you don't know that was why your parents didn't attend the wedding."
"Get out of my room now"
I ran out of his room with mixed emotions and I could feel the hot tears rolling down my cheeks. I don't know why I am crying. Because my parents sold me off or because I am being turned to a slave.
I felt more pain from the fact that I was deceived into this. My mom lied to my face or was it Darcy that was lying?
I slept with the conclusion that I would try to reach out to my mom to hear the truth directly from her relieved that Darcy might actually be lying"
I woke up a little bit late and took a quick shower before rushing to Darcy's room.
"You are late" he was already standing there waiting for me.
"I am sorry Darcy. I overslept"
"You will address me as lord Darcy from now, drop the familiarity"
"Yes lord Darcy" I said trying to sound sarcastic.
He started walking towards the front door to leave the castle. I wasn't sure where we were going and I wasn't dressed to go out. There was a car already packed outside waiting for us and he entered and when I saw the door was still open I then knew I was going with him.
This was my first time leaving this place since I arrived and we drove for a while before we got to the main road. I had already forgotten how far this place was from civilization.
We drove for 45 minutes before the driver drove into another big castle. Although not as big as the one we were just coming from but it was still bigger than my parents house.
I noticed a lot of people were pulling up and walking in like an event was going on. I looked at their dresses and looked at mine and realized I didn't fit in.
"Stop staring and move" I heard him say in my head.
That was when I realized he had gone far already. I hurried to where he was and saw that he was exchanging pleasantries with a lady. I stood one side and waited for him to finish before I followed him inside.
He sat at a chair one side and I stood beside him. A man came to speak with him and then another and another and a whole lot of others were coming. It was like he was the center of attention and possibly the host of the event.
When I got bored enough I decided to stroll a bit. I could understand from other people's discussion it was a tea party. I thought that was no longer a thing nowadays. I also understood that it was not Darcy that was hosting the party rather a lady.
Lost in my thoughts I didn't know when I bumped into a lady.
"Who owns this mannerless slave"
