Chapter 39 - The secretary bird guild

"I've actually been planning to start my own guild," she said.

"this news would make my plan a whole lot easier. What if… I acquire your guild as the new owner?"

Kenta blinked then burst into laughter.

"Ha! That's sweet of you, little lady. But I don't think you realize how expensive recommissioning fees really are. And you're a bit too young to be owing a guild."

(His tone shifted slightly, more thoughtful now.)

"You need experience and respect from your guild members. It's a lot more than just pocket change or being able to afford the price."

(He looked at her gently, eyes warm.)

"And besides…"

(He gave her a kind smile.)

"I could never let my problems become yours."

Samira hesitated. Then, for the first time, she opened up. Her voice still cautious but steady.

"Well first… I'm not exactly broke. I am Princess Samira daughter of the King of Saba."

She said it proudly, eyes steady.

The group fell into stunned silence.

Even Jiro blinked in disbelief, doing a visible double take.

Gin, Kenta, and Jiro all looked equally stunned.

"A princess? From… Saba?" Jiro finally blurted.

"Wow. That sounds pretty far, isn't it? What brings you all the way out here, Princess?"

Samira quickly held up a hand.

"Please, mr Jiro just Samira. I don't like the title unless it's absolutely necessary."

"Oh! Sorry, Samira," Jiro said, chuckling sheepishly.

"But seriously why come to Mega City of all places? You are a princess after all.

Samira smiled, eyes shining.

"I left Saba for many reasons. My father… he's still old-fashioned especially when it comes to the economy. His way of thinking is holding back Saba's future. And as its future queen, I refuse to sit idle and do nothing."

(Her voice steadied, filled with conviction.)

"I've had many dreams since I was little: but becoming a guild master is one that gives me an identity to step out my comfort zone. I grew up watching dungeon raids on TV, memorizing the rankings, imagining what it would be like to lead a guild of my own someday."

(She looked up, determined.)

"With that, I can earn real wealth… and political influence. For Saba. For its future."

Kenta let out a hearty laugh.

"Haha! Big dreams. I respect that.Already thinking way beyond your years. But let me again tell you it's definitely no easy task. Being a guild master? That's a burden. You will need grit, guts, and a damn good team."

Kenta raised an eyebrow, amused.

"And how old are you again?"

Samira lifted her chin proudly.

"Seventeen. But I'm well aware there are no rules against someone young being a guild master."

Kenta chuckled.

"Yes… you're absolutely right about that."

(But as he looked at her, something flickered in his eyes a quiet memory. He thought to himself:)

She reminds me of my son… that same fire, that same hunger to prove something.

(Out loud, he continued, gently but firmly.)

"But even so, you'll need a standing guild master someone with dungeon experience, a solid profile. They won't approve it otherwise."

Samira didn't miss a beat.

"Then why don't we share the title, sir?"

(The words hung in the air bold, unexpected.)

Gin, still deep in thought, finally voiced the question lingering in his mind.

"…Samira?"

She turned to him. "Yes?"

"Do you… already have a team?"

Samira smirked.

"Well, we're still short a healer… but yes. Including me, there are four of us."

"Four?!" Tabaki gasped.

"Wait don't tell me your bodyguards?"

She laughed.

"Yes, exactly. These two right beside me."

She turned and waved her hand.

"Go on. Let them see you."

The two cloaked men glanced at each other, grinning slightly, and pulled their hoods down in unison. Their faces were sharp, alert exuding the calm confidence of trained professionals. They gave a quick wave, and just as quickly, Samira said

"Alright. That's enough."

Instantly, the smiles vanished and the hoods returned.

Their demeanor flipped back to unreadable.

Tabaki and Iwaizumi stared, wide-eyed.

They had so many questions.

Samira continued, calmly:

"My two guards here They're both now officially C-rank hunters. Our fourth member is currently in America visiting family and he also is an officially licensed B-rank hunter.

We're still looking for one more. Ideally a strong B or A-rank fighter to help us break into larger gates and push into the mid-tier circuit."

Kenta whistled softly, clearly impressed.

"Wow… you're serious about this. That's impressive."

(He chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck.)

"This changes everything. You've already got a team stronger than mine currently hah!"

Samira didn't miss a beat.

"I am very serious about this, sir."

(Then she turned to Gin, a playful glint in her eyes.)

"Gabriel's the final piece. He just doesn't know it yet."

Jiro raised a brow, clearly amused.

"You mean you're going after him too? Hah! This young lady's got some serious fire in her!"

Samira nodded.

"Yes. I came all the way here to speak to him in person because he keeps cutting my calls!"

She crossed her arms, half-laughing in frustration.

"But don't worry. I don't take no for an answer."

She gave off the confident air of someone used to getting what she wanted and knowing exactly how to make others see it her way.

Then her expression shifted, just slightly more grounded now, more practical.

"But I've run into issues putting together a camera crew. It's mandatory to have one, but most won't join unless they think the team is solid well-rounded and stable."

(She sighed, the frustration creeping into her voice.)

"It's a tight-knit community. Everyone knows everyone. No one wants to film a squad they think might fall apart mid-dungeon."

(She looked down for a moment, then back up controlled, but honest.)

"They look at names first. And my age? It makes them take me less seriously. Plus,my hunters... they've never actually even been inside a gate before not even an F rank. They're skilled, but not known at least not in Mega City. And in this business, reputation matters."

Kenta nodded thoughtfully.

"I know exactly what you mean. The same thing happened to me. Once our ace hunter left, our crew pulled out too.

Now… only two of us are left. Including me, we make three."

Kenta offered a rueful smile one only another guild master could truly understand.

Tabaki leaned over to Iwaizumi, whispering like he'd just uncovered fate itself.

"You hear that, Iwa? If this isn't a sign we're meant to chase our dreams, I don't know what is."
