Chapter 127 - Chapter 127:

Chapter 127

SpaceGodzilla had already sensed it—another presence, vast and familiar.

A roar split the skies. Godzilla had arrived.

Even from kilometers away, the pressure of his bellow rattled the dust storms and shook the wasteland.

SpaceGodzilla descended from the sky, landing heavily upon the cracked desert plain. Godzilla, across from him, planted his feet firmly into the earth. The two titans squared off in the classic tokusatsu pose—an image older than memory, a confrontation of living legends.

'You can fly, heretic!!'

Godzilla's thought echoed the same contempt Isis had spoken aloud earlier.

The priestess raised her arms high, her voice ringing with fanatic fervor.

"Praise! The supreme, the eternal, the unmatched—our god, Godzilla! He will end the life of this counterfeit!"

Godzilla roared again, hoarse and distorted, nothing like a dragon, but something deeper, primal. SpaceGodzilla's response came back—his own roar twisted with an electronic resonance, a mocking mimicry of the true call.

The battle of gods began.

At first glance, SpaceGodzilla seemed the greater. Taller by nearly twenty meters, crowned with jagged shoulder crystals, his silhouette alone overshadowed the wasteland. In aura, he was oppressive, his crystalline spines buzzing with power.

'Taller than me, huh?'

[Yes. After all, you're still climbing from First Generation stats.]

'Forget it. I'll kill him, then unlock that charged particle cannon!'

Godzilla wasted no time—but SpaceGodzilla moved first. His dorsal crystals lengthened and fractured, breaking apart into massive shards that stabbed deep into the ground around Godzilla.

In moments, a ring of giant crystals encircled him.

'What's this supposed to be?'

The answer came at once. Yellow lightning leapt from SpaceGodzilla's body into the crystal spires, forming a vast energy lattice. Godzilla stood at its center as electricity cascaded down upon him.

'—Tsk!—!!'

Pain rippled through him. This wasn't some mere stun attack; the energy tore at his scales and flesh, leaving scorch marks.

'What is this? Some Red Alert 2 nonsense? Looks like when you power up Tesla Towers with Magnetic Troopers.'

[You're really making game jokes at a time like this?]

'My pleasure!'

Even under the storm, Godzilla's defiance never waned. And then—he began absorbing the current, pulling it into himself. Diablo's trait. The ability to drink in energy attacks and turn them to his own fuel.

'Alright, enough. My turn.'

Light blazed from within his body. Nuclear fire surged outward in a detonation of raw radiation.

The crystal lattice shattered. The electric web disintegrated. Godzilla stood tall, roaring his defiance.

SpaceGodzilla narrowed his eyes. His crystals pulsed, shards lifting into the air around him. The broken fragments orbited his body like a field of asteroids, crackling with residual energy.

The Imperial Custodian watching from a high ridge clenched his fists.

"…This is no mere battle. It is the clash of two physical laws given form."

"A battle between gods," Isis intoned, her expression calm. She did not fear for her god—not like Mothra's priestesses, who would sing songs of desperation in battle. Godzilla required no prayer. He was strength incarnate.

Godzilla eyed the orbiting fragments.

'Another trick?'

When he tried to summon his atomic breath, he realized at once—his gathered energy was bleeding away. The shards siphoned it, diffusing his charge into random blasts that cracked the wasteland instead of his foe.

'Tch. He's disrupting my focus? Damn heretic.'

Godzilla really wanted to flip him the middle claw.

'Fine. Let's do this the old way—close combat!'

The earth quaked under his charge. A kilometer for the titans was no distance at all—twenty strides at most.

But SpaceGodzilla sought to keep him back. Energy gathered in his maw, building into a storm.

The Corona Beam.

A lance of golden lightning struck Godzilla square in the chest, staggering him. Each step forward was met with more pressure, forcing him back, pain blooming in his chest.

'…Not bad.'

SpaceGodzilla, seeing the true one resist, poured on more power. The beam grew brighter, the wasteland erupting in secondary explosions around Godzilla. Ultraman would have been flashing red lights by now.

But Godzilla endured. His spines glowed, channeling his rage. Nuclear flame gathered, spilling into his throat.

'Let's see you eat this. Try my new trick—the Cliff Sword! Groudon taught me this one!'

[Please stop dragging Groudon into this.]

'Radiation Hotline!!'

His roar split the heavens as he unleashed his atomic breath—searing blue laced with golden arcs—colliding head-on with SpaceGodzilla's Corona Beam.

The two titanic energies clashed, ripping apart the skies. Storms erupted. The land split.

Godzilla growled through the blaze.

'Flying Godzillas are heretics! You're no king of monsters—you're just a fraud!!'

Slowly, Godzilla's atomic beam began to push the Corona Beam back.

Around them, the orks roared in ecstasy at the spectacle.

"WAAAGH! He's zoggin' awesome!"

"Boss, boss, look at dat beam! Dat's da real deal!!"

And for once, the greenskins weren't wrong.
