Chapter 91 - Chapter 91:

Chapter 91

The arrival of Godzilla stunned not only Abaddon, but also Ursarkar E. Creed, Lord Castellan of Cadia.

"That's… Godzilla? By the Throne, that thing is enormous!"

"Yes," an Inquisitor muttered, still shaken from his first encounter with the beast. "Its size defies reason."

The Inquisitor recalled his own shock at first laying eyes upon the creature. "He resembles the primeval beasts of ancient Terra. Fossils unearthed in the cradle of mankind show massive creatures… similar in form to him."

"I've heard of those," Creed said, narrowing his eyes. "Dinosaurs. Some are displayed in Terra's museums."

The similarity was undeniable. Godzilla was often nicknamed the Atomic Dinosaur, after all. Creed, however, underestimated the scale. Dinosaurs may have reached thirty meters, towering behemoths of their age—yet Godzilla stood more than fifty meters tall.

For the defenders of Cadia, that was just barely conceivable.

"The Lizard-God seems to have some connection with the Emperor Himself," the Inquisitor continued cautiously. "I cannot confirm, but… my advice, Castellan—do not order an attack upon it unless absolutely necessary."

"I'll… try my best," Creed said grimly. He could not promise anything. Orders were only useful if they reached the soldiers in time, and the warzone of Cadia was too chaotic for certainty.

Meanwhile, Godzilla's golden eyes swept across the ranks of Chaos Titans. His thoughts reached the system.

'Any Emperor-class Chaos Titans in the field?'

[Yes. But Abaddon will not commit one so easily. He would only deploy it once victory is within reach.]

'Good.'

Because if an Emperor-class Titan appeared now, Godzilla wasn't sure he could stop it.

The size of such engines was a mystery—some claimed fifty meters, others one hundred. If it were truly one hundred, then at his current fifty-meter height, Godzilla doubted he could fight it evenly.

But if the Emperor-class were only fifty… then he was untouchable among ground units.

Still, Godzilla suspected the truth was closer to one hundred—and he almost hoped so. Because when he eventually grew to that size, he wanted a true rival.

For now, though, the six Warlord-class Chaos Titans arrayed before him would serve well enough.

Six Warlords—equivalent to two maniples of Reaver-class Titans. A formation strong enough to make even the Tyranids hesitate.

Godzilla let out a roar, thunder rolling from his maw, and thundered forward.

'Just a dozen of them? It's not like I haven't been beaten up before!!!'

Bravery was one thing. Abaddon's calculations were another.

On the command deck of the Vengeful Spirit's successor flagship, the Warmaster of Chaos frowned. The augur displays showed Godzilla moving directly into the Titan phalanx.

Forty Titans and dozens of Knight-class walkers served Abaddon. Six Warlord-class units stood already in line, and three Emperor-class were waiting to be airdropped. On top of that came War Dogs and lesser Knight suits.

And this beast… dared to charge?

Even during the Horus Heresy, the Emperor had no general of such reckless might.

Bad news interrupted his thoughts.

"Warmaster!" An adjutant rushed in, pale. "The World Eaters regiment dropped on the nearby planet has been annihilated!"

"What?!" Abaddon's eyes widened as if he had seen the Emperor Himself. "That was an entire host of World Eaters!"

It was unthinkable. Even berserkers of Angron's Legion were rarely destroyed outright—and never this quickly.

"Report on the Warlord-class Titan engagement?" Abaddon barked.

"Dire, Warmaster. One void shield is already overloaded and barely holding. Two others are on the verge of collapse. The enemy has suffered negligible damage."

"Harder to break than Eldar Titans?"

"Yes! Its defenses are absurd—nothing is working!"

The Chaos crews were near panic. The Titan whose shields had collapsed was trying to retreat under the cover of its allies. But Katata, piloting Mechagodzilla, slammed forward like a living mountain, crashing through the wall of two Warlords as if they were paper.

Speed was the Eldar's advantage—but raw mass and force belonged to Mechagodzilla.

"Hold him back! My void shield needs time to recharge!" one Titan crew voxed desperately.

"All units, ram him! Hold the line!"

The two Warlords tried to crush Mechagodzilla between them. But his claws ripped free, metal shrieking. Barrages of cannon-fire sparked across his armor, only feeding the glow of the dorsal fins as they gathered energy.

Katata grinned savagely.

"Behold the power granted to us by Godzilla!"

She slammed a control.

Mechagodzilla's jaws split open, a massive barrel unfolding from its maw. The energy in the dorsal fins converged into a searing core.

A red-yellow beam erupted, slamming into the crippled Warlord Titan. Its armor plates—never meant to withstand such concentrated fury—melted in seconds. The beam burned through and cored the Titan's reactor.

The Warlord toppled, its daemon-corrupted crew annihilated, finally given a twisted form of peace.

Katata spun Mechagodzilla, tail lashing out to knock the two remaining Warlords sprawling.

"Two left," she murmured with a smile, hands steady on the controls. "This is getting easier."

The Chaos crews wanted to retreat. This was no battle—it was suicide. Even Mechagodzilla's damaged sections proved untouchable; chain-axes bounced off the dorsal fins, their teeth shattering.

Nothing worked.

"Warmaster!" a desperate voice came over the comms. "We request immediate orbital bombardment!"

Abaddon hesitated for only a second, then nodded coldly.

"Granted."
