Chapter 644 - Mantid

What the hell is this Sha-Demon collaboration? Galen completely agreed with this kind of ancient god system setting. After all, in the original timeline, Nazgrim and Taylor provoked the Hozen and Jinyu to fight, releasing the Sha of Doubt. Later, the Sha demons also broke free one after another.

Galen asked if this meant that one would rise as the other fell, but Chi-Ji denied Galen's guess.

Galen didn't want to delve too deeply. A few Sha demons weren't the real Y'shaarj, so he didn't take them to heart.

However, there were too many for him to deal with all at once, so he asked Chi-Ji to meet up with Yu'lon and then go to the Temple of the White Tiger in Kun-Lai Summit to provide support.

The White Tiger Xuen was the powerhouse among the four August Celestials. The strongest of them, he alone suppressed three Sha demons.

However, Xuen also failed later. The Sha of Anger, the Sha of Hatred, and the Sha of Madness broke free, causing great casualties to the Shado-Pan Monastery. Taran Zhu was even corrupted by the Sha of Hatred, but the influence of the Sha energy on him was eventually completely purified, and he led his troops to search for the escaped Sha of Hatred in the Dread Wastes.

Ultimately, with the help of other Shado-Pan warriors and adventurers, he successfully eliminated the Sha of Hatred, but this also became our Master Taran Zhu's dark history.

After Galen warned Taran Zhu, he asked him to return to Kun-Lai Summit with Chi-Ji. Then, after sending a remote communication to Alleria and Sylvanas, Galen also set off for the Dread Wastes where the Niuzao Temple was located.

And Galen chose the most arrogant route and method, riding Yu'lei, flying over the ruling core of the Mantid: the Dread Wastes.

The Dread Wastes is a contested territory. The Mantid, who ravage Pandaria, have been at war with the Pandaren and Yaungol on this land for a long time, making it an extremely chaotic area. The Dread Wastes is the origin of the Mantid Empire, and countless Mantid reside here. Every period of time, the Mantid will launch a large-scale attack on the Serpent's Spine.

This is called the Cycle in the Mantid society. Each attack and recuperation period is a cycle, and new heroes are selected each time.

These insectoids will seal the selected new heroes into amber for preservation. The Mantid plan to release them all at once after accumulating enough heroes to defeat the Pandaren's defenses in one fell swoop.

In fact, the Dread Wastes and the Krasarang Wilds should be considered the same area. They are separated from the rest of Pandaria by the Serpent's Spine, and these two lands are also divided by a huge canyon called the Great Trench due to the terrain. Only a huge dead tree forms a single-plank bridge to connect them.

Yu'lon was indeed worthy of being the daughter of the Azure Dragon. Soon, she flew over the coastline of Krasarang Wilds, bypassed the southern starting point of the Serpent's Spine, and directly entered the land of the Mantid.

Gloomy and dark clouds enveloped this land, and everything seemed particularly eerie. The surrounding trees were not green, but dark gray, and even the ground underfoot was gray.

The most conspicuous thing on the ground was the several huge trees that were taller than the forest. Although their trunks were not as big as Nordrassil, they were still bigger than the Tree of Life in Galen's hand.

And the largest tree was located in the west of the Dread Wastes, where the palace of the Mantid clan was located: the Heart of Fear.

Regarding the Mantid, Galen promised the Azure Dragon that he would not send a large-scale army to conquer them, because he had a special trick to disrupt the vitality of the Mantid Empire!

Pandaria seems isolated from the world, a haven of peace. As long as one survives the periodic Mantid swarms, there is essentially no great danger.

But in reality, if no outside force breaks the status quo, Galen estimates that within a century, the Pandaren will once again face war, and even the entire Pandaria will face extinction.

And the greatest crisis is the Mantid Empire that Galen overlooks!

The Mantid gather their warriors at intervals to launch large-scale attacks on the Serpent's Spine.

This is known as the Cycle in Mantid society. Each attack and period of recuperation is a Cycle, and each Cycle selects new heroes.

After the war, those Mantid warriors with outstanding military achievements will be sealed into special amber for preservation. Thanks to this method of accumulating elite warriors, the strength of the Mantid Empire is increasing day by day.

During the height of the Mogu Empire, Lei Shen once tried to wipe out the Mantid once and for all, but in the end, he chose to have the slaves build the Serpent's Spine for passive defense.

Perhaps, inheriting Lei Shen's legacy, he knew the origin of the Mantid and the Sha they worshiped, making him afraid to act rashly, or perhaps the Origin Forge was more important in his mind at the time.

In any case, the Mantid have been carrying out their Cycle plan for tens of thousands of years. No one knows how many Klaxxi paragons have been accumulated. Once the Mantid Empress launches a general offensive, she may really be able to break through the defenses of the Serpent's Spine in one fell swoop.

And once the strength of the Pandaren begins to decline, the Mogu will immediately make a comeback!

After communicating with Yu'lon the Jade Serpent, Galen also learned that after being defeated by the Pandaren and the various races of Pandaria, the Mogu chose to self-seal themselves, hopeless of restoring their empire!

These former Titan creations transformed into stone statues and slumbered in the many Titan crypts of Pandaria, leaving only a portion of the tribe to stay outside, waiting for the opportune moment to awaken their sleeping compatriots, reclaim the land that originally belonged to the Mogu, and rebuild their empire.

Galen felt excited just thinking about it. Isn't this like Emperor Qin's terracotta army from a certain Chinese novel!

Awesome!

In the original timeline, if it hadn't been for the accident where the Sha of Fear controlled the Mantid Empress, causing infighting between the Empress faction and the Elder faction, with the two factions directly engaging in war, destroying their accumulated power of ten thousand years, the Pandaren might have been finished.

Sure enough, Azeroth is full of surprises. No race that can establish an empire here is simple; each one is stubbornly persistent.

Interesting.

However, it is still uncertain whether things will develop as Galen knows, but he doesn't care.

Galen patted Yulei's back, and Yulei understood, descending the flight altitude and slowly flying into the huge rift between the Dread Wastes and the Krasarang Wilds: the Valley of the Four Winds!

After clearing a certain cave in the valley, Galen began to use the Heart of Origin for remote communication. Soon, two portals connecting to places outside of Pandaria took shape!

Subsequently, a huge spider and a huge wasp each walked out of the portals!

The leader of the last remnant of the Azjol-Nerub Spider Kingdom: Elder Kelryx the Reassembler!

Princess Huhuran, who was subdued by Galen during the Ahn'Qiraj War!

"Greetings, Master!"

After exchanging a glance, the spider and the wasp both performed the highest Zerg salute towards Galen!
