Chapter 61 - OPRS: Chapter 61

"Then let me join as well." A figure descended from the sky, landing beside Van Augur. He had wings on his back, descending directly into the scene, startling everyone, who immediately assumed a defensive posture.

"My name is Lafitte, Devil Fruit user, Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Siren! At your service!"

His entrance stole Van Augur's thunder, making Van Augur narrow his eyes.

He disliked Lafitte, but hadn't expected such strong individuals in Mock Town besides Bellamy the Hyena.

The Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Siren was incredibly rare.

The only known user of this type of Devil Fruit was Sengoku, the Fleet Admiral, and this wasn't common knowledge.

Lafitte's Angel form was special, especially his ability to fly, doubling his scouting capabilities.

Lafitte and Van Augur were similar; both waited in Mock Town for a captain to serve.

Van Augur was more high-profile, often seen on rooftops, while Lafitte was more discreet; no one knew he was in Mock Town.

This was where the Blackbeard Pirates first appeared; two of their members appearing wasn't surprising.

Alistair smiled; he welcomed Lafitte's offer.

Lafitte and Van Augur were typical strong-man followers, waiting for a "master" in Mock Town.

Blackbeard, an ambitious pirate, was a former Whitebeard crewmate and Yami Yami no Mi user. His ambition and vision made his recruitment unsurprising.

But these ambitious pirates chose Alistair upon his arrival.

Alistair wasn't surprised.

It was realistic—even if Blackbeard were present, Hancock, a Shichibukai, was captivated by Alistair. The Spade Pirates were stronger than Blackbeard's solo crew. The choice was obvious.

Alistair's hundred-person force had routed over five hundred pirates in Mock Town. This strength, if not seized, would be lost.

This was likely why Van Augur and Lafitte appeared so quickly.

They were ambitious, choosing someone they believed could become Pirate King.

They didn't know Alistair's group was different, but Alistair wouldn't refuse them.

They were valuable assets. Lafitte's Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Siren was unexpected.

This was a pleasant surprise. With a flying comrade, reaching Skypeia would be easier.

Van Augur, while not currently strong, could hold his own against Ace—though he couldn't win, he could hold his own. He probably lacked Observation and Armament Haki then, yet was already strong.

Snipers, once developed, were formidable, even in the latter half of the Grand Line.

Ben Beckman's pistol intimidated Kizaru, exemplifying a top sniper's power.

Their growth potential was immense.

This was excellent.

Alistair patted them on the shoulders and took the spoils list from Ran.

After a few seconds, he gave the board to Nico Robin. "Alright, scribe, start working."

"Wait!" Wasn't she the propaganda minister? Why the scribe now?! Nico Robin hastily took the board, not using her abilities. They knew her, but not necessarily her powers. An opportunity to escape might arise.

She looked at the board, showing the spoils, making her tremble.

So much money!

The archaeologist, never seeing so much money, felt dizzy. A fragrant breeze passed, and Hancock's cold snort was heard as she walked away.

Robin realized they were heading into town.

"Wait, this is too rash! I just joined!" Robin hurried to Alistair's side, anxious.

With pirates who exploited her, she could manipulate them and discard them. But with someone who was completely open with her, she felt anxious on their behalf.

He turned, his calm gaze seeming to see through her, then smiled gently. "Don't worry, you're our comrade; that's unquestionable."

He walked towards the town gate, the battleground.

The dissected pirates were bandaged; their wounds still bled, but this seemed insignificant to them.

They could still scream.

But upon Alistair's arrival, realizing they were alive and treated, the scene quieted.

A platform had been built.

For Alistair.

Alistair leaped onto the platform, surveying the scene. All revolutionaries stopped working, watching him.

The pirates held their breath, as if awaiting judgment.

"We won!" He raised his fist, as if striking the sky, shouting.

"HOORAY!!!" The Devils Luck revolutionaries, who had known him for less than two months, raised their weapons and cheered.

The battle had ended in their complete victory.

They deserved the cheers and praise, just like now.
