Alistair never believed in hiding his rebellious intentions.
While currently lacking in power, if you don't clearly state your ideals, if you can't be honest with your own people, then how can you expect them to risk their lives and futures with you?
Dragon's revolutionary methods wouldn't work.
He knew this from the start.
Dragon's stance was firm, but his methods were filled with unrealistic fantasies and adventurism.
The revolutionaries, represented by Sabo, were full of adventurism, causing trouble with the Straw Hats.
But this hadn't gained the revolutionaries anything.
The revolutionaries' base was destroyed by the Marines, and the revolutionaries scattered across the world, organizing resistance, essentially becoming guerrilla fighters.
This should have been their strategy from the beginning, but they were forced into this by the government's suppression. How much loss and sacrifice did the revolutionaries endure before understanding the need to decentralize?
If Alistair had hidden his revolutionary intentions, he would have only gained false followers.
But now, he had gained ideological warriors who knew who they were, where they came from, and where they were going.
Their faith was unwavering, their stance uncompromising. Having grasped this concept, they would not retreat.
Among those who joined, besides dedicated revolutionaries, there might be CP spies, but Alistair currently lacked the ability to identify them, so he assumed everyone was genuinely committed to the revolution.
As the journey resumed, the four ships formed a line: the Devils Luck Pirates' Devils Luck leading, the Spade Pirates' Spade following, the Marine warship trailing five kilometers behind, and finally, the Kuja Pirates' Perfume Serpent.
Everyone was gathered on the Devils Luck, the Marine warship followed only by a few Amazonian warriors.
On the Devils Luck, besides daily training, there were Alistair's nightly lectures.
Alistair knew time was short.
He had learned from Isuka that they were twenty days away from Jaya.
In these twenty days, he needed to instill his ideology into the Marines' minds. Although they had accepted his ideals and believed the World Government was their enemy, this wasn't enough.
Like many peasants forced to rebel, they were simply desperate and forced into rebellion.
If they were lucky, and other villages and cities also rose up in rebellion, their ranks would swell.
But if they were unlucky and only rebelled locally, they would be easily suppressed.
Such rebellions were futile, unnecessary, and doomed to fail.
Like the scattered sparks of revolution on the Eastern Continent, they were easily extinguished.
Rulers, especially feudal rulers, would never concede, never show mercy.
Only when the entire Eastern Continent was swept by the tide of revolution, when all the people embraced the concept of nationhood, and even the feudal government's lackeys dared not kill revolutionaries for fear of future retribution, would the time be ripe.
Therefore, the first lesson Alistair had to teach them was: the time is not yet right, preserve yourselves.
"So, when will the time be right?" The Devils Luck's cabin was too cramped to hold two hundred people, so they had to hold the lecture on deck.
But iron discipline allowed two hundred people to listen silently.
The Marines' discipline wasn't as strong as the pirates who had trained for fifteen days. Isuka stood up and raised her hand.
"Next time, remember to say 'Report.'" Alistair pointed at her.
She stuck out her tongue, then sat down, nudging Ace beside her, making a face.
Before, she was a soldier, he a pirate, unable to openly express their feelings. Now, on the same ship, they were comrades, finally able to face their hearts and feelings.
Now, they sat together intimately, ignoring others' gazes.
"When will the time be ripe?"
Alistair paced, considering, "That's an excellent question."
"When will the time be ripe?"
"In fact, if we leave them alone, that time will never come."
!!!
Alistair's words shocked everyone.
"Surprised? Confused?"
"Yes, this is the real world. We must adhere to objective reality."
"The fact is, before I arrived, you lived aimlessly, unaware of your friends or enemies. You, the poor, fought each other for scraps thrown by the powerful. If I hadn't appeared, in ten or twenty years, would you have known how to resist the World Government?"
The people below shook their heads. Without Alistair, they wouldn't have learned this theory and knowledge. They wouldn't have known how to resist the government even after a hundred years.
"I'm not saying I'm great, but the seeds of revolution need to be sown, watered, nurtured, protected!"
"The world is divided by the sea, information is cut off. People only know their own seas, unaware of the world, of news from other seas. Except for the World Economic News, people are oblivious to world events."
"Even the World Economic News can't reach ordinary kingdoms or people. Its main audience is actually pirates."
"Tell me, how long would it take to plant this seed worldwide?"
Alistair looked at them, their expressions thoughtful.
Silence fell.
"Report!" William raised his hand.
"William."
"So, is there no faster way to achieve this?" William asked.
